Huawei's latest flagship phones are here, but which Pura 90s model is worth your attention?

Huawei has officially introduced the Pura 90s Pro and Pura 90s Pro Max to the global market after initially unveiling the duo in China earlier this year. The global debut brings Huawei's latest flagship smartphone to a wider audience, packing the premium LTPO OLED displays, upgraded camera hardware, and the company 's in-house Kirin 9030s chipset. While both phones share most of their core specifications, the Pro Max variant stands out in terms of a larger display and more advanced camera hardware. But for now, I will discuss these two phones in detail, including the expected Huawei Pura 90s Pro & 90s Pro Max price in Nepal, specifications, and availability.
Key Highlights
- The Pura 90s Pro series features premium LTPO OLED displays with a 1–120Hz adaptive refresh rate and up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness.
- Both flagship phones are powered by Huawei's in-house Kirin 9030S chipset and run EMUI 16 in the global market.
- While the Pura 90s Pro gets a 50MP telephoto camera, the Pro Max upgrades to a 200MP periscope telephoto lens for enhanced zoom photography.
- Huawei has equipped the duo with up to 16GB RAM, 1TB storage, and 6,000mAh batteries, with the Pro Max supporting faster 100W wired and 80W wireless charging.
Huawei Pura 90s Pro & 90s Pro Max Overview
Design and Display
Starting off, Huawei has kept the familiar premium design language for the Pura 90s series, where both of them feature a sleek quad-curved body with Huawei's distinctive triangular camera module on the back. This is the same design we have seen in the Chinese variant Pura 90 Pro and Pro Max. They also have an aluminum frame and 2nd-generation Kunlan Glass protection alongside the IP68/IP69 ratings for durability against dust and water.

Though they vary in size, the vibrant and refreshing color options they offer should be the major highlight of these phones. Here, the Pro model is available in “Guava Soda”, “Orange Soda”, “Coconut White”, and “Mulberry Black” finishes, while you can choose between “Blush Gold”, “Orange Ocean", "Blaze Purple", and "Graphite Black” finishes for the 90s Pro Max.
Up front, these devices use Huawei's LTPO OLED panels with an adaptive refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz for smoother animations and better power efficiency. However, the standard Pura 90s Pro sports a 6.8-inch display with a 2848 x 1276 resolution, while the Pro Max gets a slightly larger 6.89-inch panel with a sharper 3108 x 1440 resolution. Other than this, Huawei also claims up to 3000 nits of peak brightness on both phones to offer a better visual experience while watching HDR content.
Performance and Software
Under the hood, both Pura 90s Pro and Pro Max use Huawei's in-house Kirin 9030s chipset. However, Huawei has not shared detailed performance figures—the new processor is expected to offer incremental improvement over the previous generation, especially with AI processing and overall efficiency.

Memory-wise, both phones support up to 16GB of RAM and up to 1TB of internal storage. On the software front, you get EMUI 16 out of the box instead of the HarmonyOS 6 that we saw in the Chinese model.
Camera
Moving to the optic, it remains the major focus for the global variant of the Pura series phones. Here, both Pura 90s Pro and Pro Max feature a 50MP primary camera with a variable aperture ranging from f/1.4 to f/4.0 with OIS and Huawei's latest XD Motion Engine alongside the upgraded Red Maple color imaging technology for more accurate colors and improved dynamic range.

Meanwhile, the difference lies in the secondary cameras of these phones. Here, the Pura 90s Pro pairs the main sensor with a 12.5MP ultra-wide camera and a 50MP telephoto macro lens capable of up to 4x optical zoom. Whereas the Pura 90s Pro Max upgrade to a 200MP periscope telephoto camera promises significantly better long-range zoom and improved low-light performance, along with featuring a 40MP ultra-wide sensor.
Similarly, these phones also feature a 13MP ultra-wide selfie camera with autofocus for selfies and video calls. So, from this camera setting, we can expect pretty good photography to capture a detailed image from either of the phones.

Battery and Others
In terms of battery, the Pura 90s Pro and Pro Max pack a 6000mAh battery that Huawei claims to offer decent usage time—while the EU gets only a 5500mAh battery. Here, the Pro model supports the 66W wired Huawei SuperCharge alongside 50W fast wireless charging.
Meanwhile, the Pro Max model supports the 100W wired charging alongside 80W wireless SuperCharge. The plus point they have is that both of them support reverse wireless charging, so that you can use them to charge the compatible accessories on the go.
Other highlights include Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, NFC, dual-frequency GPS, and more, which would play a major role in day-to-day use.
