Redmi Note 17 Pro arrives with Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 and 9,000mAh battery

Xiaomi has officially launched the Redmi Note 17 Pro alongside its sibling Redmi Note 17 as a direct successor to the Redmi Note 15 Pro. With this new premium mid-range phone, Xiaomi has mostly focused on durability and better battery life by including the flagship-grade IP69K rating and a massive 9000mAh battery. In this article, I will explain about this new phone of the Note 17 series in detail, including the expected Redmi Note 17 Pro price in Nepal, specifications, and availability.

Redmi Note 17 Pro Overview

Design and Display

Starting off, the Redmi Note 17 Pro arrives with a flat-edge design with a plastic frame, similar to that of its predecessor—the Note 15 Pro. On the back, you get a different design with a clean square camera island in matte finish, housing dual lenses and an LED Flash. For durability, this phone also comes with an IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings, so you can use it without worrying about damage from accidental rain exposure. 

Additionally, you can choose from the “Clear Blue”, “Purple”, “White”, and “Black” finishes that suit your preferences best. And for security, Xiaomi has also included a short-focus optical in-display fingerprint scanner. 

Up front, Note 17 Pro opts for the 6.83-inch flat AMOLED display with 1.5K resolution, which should add sharp and crisp texture to the visuals that we watch on this phone. And its 3500 nits peak brightness should also be a plus point to improve the visual experience while watching HDR content. 

Also, whether you are scrolling social media, streaming Netflix, or playing games, the experience should be smooth, all thanks to its 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, Redmi Note 17 Pro uses Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 processor that we saw in phones like Motorola Moto G57 Power. So, you can expect a similar performance delivering the reliable everyday performance while maintaining good power efficiency. 

Besides, this phone isn't specifically dedicated to gaming—but still—Xiaomi claims the Note 17 Pro delivers a decent gaming experience for casual and mainstream players. So, the popular titles like PUBG Mobile, MOBA, CODM, and Free Fire Max should run smoothly at medium to high graphic settings with stable frame rates. However, the demanding titles like Genshin Impact, Wuthering Waves, and Zenless Zone Zero might not offer the same in high graphics settings. 

Memory-wise, the Note 17 Pro arrives with up to 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage. On the software front, this phone runs on the HyperOS based on Android 16, bringing a cleaner interface, improved animations, and better optimization for large-capacity batteries. Camera and Battery

For Optics, the Redmi Note 17 Pro opts for a dual camera setup with a 50MP f/1.8 primary sensor paired with a 2MP depth sensor for portrait shots. So, you should get decent daylight, while low-light shots might not be that great from this phone. On the front, you get an 8MP sensor for selfies and video calls. 

In terms of battery, it packs a massive 9000mAh cell, which is a wide leap from the 6580mAh battery that we saw in its predecessor, which Xiaomi claims to last for more than 2 days even when you're casual use and gaming. 

Here, you also get the 67W wired HyperCharge support in this device, so that you don't have to wait for hours without a phone, even though it has that massive battery. It also supports 22.5W wired reverse charging, allowing you to charge your accessories and other smartphones in an emergency.

The Redmi Note 17 Pro was officially launched in China, and its base 8/128GB model is priced at CNY 1,599 (~$236, INR 22,700) while top end 12/256GB model costs CNY 2,099 (~$310, INR 29,700).
