Both watches look similar at first glance… but do you want to know what actually separates the Watch Fit 5 from the Fit 5 Pro?

Huawei is back with two new wearables, featuring the Watch Fit 5 series. Here, the Watch Fit 5 Pro targets the premium mid-range category, while the Watch Fit 5 caters to budget-segment users. Though both watches look very similar, their differences become more noticeable beyond the design. In this article, I will discuss the Watch Fit 5 & Watch Fit 5 Pro in detail, including their expected prices in Nepal, specifications, and availability.
Huawei Watch Fit 5 Series Overview
Design and Build
Starting with Watch Fit 5, Huawei uses an aluminum frame and plastic back housing the 1.82-inch AMOLED display. Here, this watch weighs around 27 grams without a strap, making it lightweight enough for all-day use. Here you will get to choose between “Silver”, "Purple", "Green", "White", and "Black" finishes.

Moving on to the Huawei Watch Fit 5 Pro, it opts for a premium titanium and Sapphire glass build to house the 1.92-inch AMOLED panel, which is a bit larger than the standard Huawei Watch Fit 5 model. This watch weighs around 30.4 grams without a strap. Here, they arrive in “Orange”, “White”, and "Black" finishes with matching “Gradient Orange Nylon”, “White Fluoroelastomer”, and “Black Fluoroelastomer” Straps, respectively.

Also, Huawei claims the Fit 5 reaches 2500 nits of peak brightness, and the Fit 5 Pro up to 3000 nits. This means the Watch Fit 5 series can work pretty well even in harsh sunlight without much struggle.
Performance and Device Compatibility
Under the hood, the Huawei Watch Fit 5 Series runs on HarmonyOS, featuring the latest OS version developed by Huawei for its wearables. So, you can expect smooth performance from these watches, as this interface is generally known for its smooth navigation. Further, you should have a phone running Android 9.0 or later and iOS 13.0 or later to ensure this watch works seamlessly with your phone via the Huawei Health app.

Health and Fitness monitoring
Here, both the Fit 5 and the Fit 5 Pro use the Huawei TruSense system for fitness monitoring and tracking. But there are significant differences in operation, with exclusive features available only in the Pro version.
First, let's discuss the common feature you can see in both watches. Here, both can track your sleep using TrueSleep 5.0, which can detect potential sleep apnea and measure heart rate and stress data. For fitness, both offer 30 animated mini workouts. And if you are a beginner bicyclist, Huawei claims to offer you cycling performance metrics that might reduce reliance on entry-level cycling sensors for casual users. Both of these watches support 100-plus sports modes.

Moving on, there are also exclusive features in Fit 5 Pro, such as a CE-certified ECG sensor that detects arterial stiffness and produces a heart rhythm report when the watch is pressed for 30 seconds. Alongside, it can also provide health insights related to potential blood sugar risk. Also, the Fit 5 Pro has over 17,000 golf courses worldwide on its map. It is also rated for 40m freediving and lets you mark checkpoints and destinations on its zoomable maps.
Battery, Connectivity, and others
According to Huawei, both watches can support up to 10 days on a single charge when used casually, but the battery life is restricted to 7 days for typical use, and it comes to 4 days when AOD is enabled. Similarly, for connectivity, they support Bluetooth 6.0 and dual-band GNSS for positioning. You can also make contactless payments with this watch, as it has NFC.
