Would you choose the Moto G Max over other phones in its segment?

Motorola has introduced the new Moto G Max in India as a battery-focused smartphone with a few notable upgrades for the segment. It comes with a 7,000mAh battery, Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset, a 120Hz display, and a 50MP Sony LYTIA 600 main camera. Motorola has also focused on durability with MIL-STD-810H certification and an IP64 rating. In this article, I will discuss this phone in detail, including the expected Moto G Max price in Nepal, specifications, and availability.

Moto G Max Overview
Camera and Battery
Starting off, the Moto G Max features a dual-camera setup on the back, led by a 50MP f/1.8 Sony LYTIA 600 primary sensor with Quad Pixel technology. It is paired with an 8MP f/2.2 ultrawide camera, while selfies are handled by a 32MP f/2.2 front camera. With these optics, the phone should deliver decent shots in everyday photography, particularly in well-lit conditions. At the same time, the ultrawide camera is useful when shooting landscapes or fitting more people into a frame.

However, the biggest highlight here is the battery. The Moto G Max packs a large 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, which Motorola claims can last for more than two days on a single charge. It supports 30W TurboPower charging over USB Type-C. In everyday use, a battery this large should comfortably handle a full day of heavy usage, while lighter users could potentially get well into a second day before needing a charger.
Design and Display
Moving on to the design, the Moto G Max maintains a relatively manageable 8.6mm thickness and weighs around 213 grams. It comes with a satin-inspired rear finish and Pantone-curated color options such as “Stargazer”, “Alaskan Blue”, and “Malaga”. Furthermore, Motorola has added Gorilla Glass 7i protection, an IP64 rating, and MIL-STD-810H certification for better resistance against everyday wear and environmental conditions.

Up front, the phone gets a 6.72-inch Full HD+ LCD screen with a 120Hz refresh rate. The panel can reach up to 1,050 nits of brightness, which should be helpful when using the phone outdoors. Although it uses an LCD panel rather than AMOLED, the 120Hz refresh rate should make scrolling and animations feel noticeably smoother. Besides that, the phone features stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos and retains a 3.5mm headphone jack, which is still a useful addition for users who prefer wired audio.

Performance and Software
The Moto G Max is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 6s Gen 4 chipset built on a 4nm processor. This is the same chip used in phones like the Motorola Moto G57 Power in recent times. Also, the upcoming Redmi Note 17 Pro is also all set to use the same chip.

That said, the phone is positioned more toward balanced everyday performance than high-end gaming. This means casual gaming should be fine, while you can look at other good options like the Nothing Phone 4b, Infinix Note 60 Pro, POCO M8 Pro, and Infinix GT 30 Pro—if gaming is your priority.
Memory-wise, it comes with 6GB LPDDR5X RAM and up to 256GB UFS 3.1 internal storage. On the software side, the Moto G Max runs Android 16 with Motorola's Hello UI. Motorola also promised two Android OS upgrades and three years of security updates in this phone.
