Xiaomi has launched its latest mid-range tablet, the Redmi Pad 2, in Nepal. This new tablet is the successor to the original Redmi Pad (review) and features some upgrades in performance and display. In this article, let’s explore all the specs and features of the Redmi Pad 2, including its official price in Nepal.
Redmi Pad 2 Overview:
Design and Display
Starting with the design, the new Redmi Pad 2 boasts a metal unibody design. It houses a pill-shaped vertical camera layout on the back with a clean matte rear side. The volume rockers are on the right, while the bottom side houses a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. A nice add-on for audiophiles.
In terms of display, the Redmi Pad 2 flaunts an 11-inch 2.5K display. It boasts a resolution of 2560 x 1600 pixels and a pixel density of 274 PPI. It also supports a 90Hz AdaptiveSync refresh rate and reaches up to 600 nits of brightness in outdoor mode. On top of that, Xiaomi has equipped it with DC dimming and triple TÜV Rheinland certifications — Low Blue Light (Software), Flicker Free, and Circadian Friendly — for all-day eye comfort.
Performance
Powering everything from the core is the MediaTek Helio G100-Ultra chip, a 6nm processor with a 2x Cortex-A76 and 6x Cortex-A55 configuration and Mali-G57 MC2 GPU. This is not a significant improvement over the Redmi Pad with Helio G99. Redmi has paired the chip with up to 8GB of LPDDR$X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Software-wise, the tab boots on Xiaomi HyperOS 2, built on top of Android 15.
Camera and Extras
In terms of cameras, it flaunts an 8MP rear unit with a f/2.0 aperture and a 5MP front unit for taking selfies and video calls. Meanwhile, fueling this slate is a 9000mAh battery, while the charging details are still under wraps.
