WiseAdmit, a student admission platform, recently made its debut at Shark Tank Nepal. And although they couldn’t get the offer they wanted from the Sharks, it seems that WiseAdmit is getting quite popular among youth. And being a recent A-level graduate, I wanted to know exactly what the hype is about. So, I reviewed their website, and this is what I found.
So, what is WiseAdmit?
The company was founded in 2022 by Rupesh Regmi. According to the CEO, WiseAdmit is an AI-powered global student admission platform. They aim to empower students through access to affordable education, and their platform is designed to help students discover the best university options for their further studies.
WiseScore feature
WiseAdmit introduces a feature called “WiseScore”, where they have to answer a few questions related to their education. And then, students can get matched with programs and scholarships that match their WiseScore. I also tried it and got a score of 71%.
But what does it mean? Well, according to the website, it is a tool to assess a student’s eligibility for admission or scholarships at their partner universities. This score will be calculated based on your interest, academic results, and other criteria.
After finding your WiseScore, based on this score, the platform suggests matching programs and scholarships. From there, students can start their application process directly through WiseAdmit. However, I couldn’t find some fields, like cybersecurity, which I wanted in the available stream or sub-stream options.
Although the founder claims the company offers what’s best for students, unlike typical consultancies, the reality is more subtle. They primarily recommend universities they’ve partnered with (mostly from China), which limits the options available to students.
And as a trending subject to grow, they have added the term “AI.” Primarily, I didn’t see anything related to AI when I reviewed the site except for the AI chatbot, which is built into the website.
A brief summary of WiseAdmit’s Shark Tank journey
Mr. Regmi’s pitch focused on empowering students with AI tools like WiseScore and AI Interview. As well as creating a future where Nepalese youth return with international exposure and help build Nepal. He also mentioned they have made a deal with the biggest CRM (Customer Relationship Management) provider in China.
The website is kind of different from other similar platforms because it provides subscriptions to the universities instead of the students. And, last year they made USD 127,000 and now have a scope of USD 500,000 this year.
The Sharks asked for 15% equity (versus 5% offered by Mr. Regmi) in exchange for an investment worth NPR 3.33 crores. However, he didn’t take the deal, as he believed the company’s vision was bigger than the presented valuation.
My final thoughts
WiseAdmit feels a lot similar to most of the other alternative platforms like Common App or Coalition Application. However, the WiseScore feature does add a personalized touch, helping students find relevant opportunities, but the platform’s recommendations are limited to its partners.

Google is unveiling the Pixel 10 series along with the Pixel Watch 4 later this month. And recently, there have been leaks around the Pixel Buds 2a to be released along with them. These buds, being the successors to the Pixel Buds A-series from way back in 2021, certainly took a long time to come to market. Let’s find out more.
Google Pixel Buds 2a Leaks
Design
Based on the leaked renders, the Pixel Buds 2a will be available in two colors — blue and grayish black, which Google calls “Iris” and “Fog Light”.
Image: Androidheadlines
When looking at the case, it feels similar to the previous model. But we can see that it’s slightly smaller and has gotten rounder as well. Moreover, it seems that Google has also decided to remove the ear hook this time.
Pixel Buds 2a will offer a better battery capacity and improved audio quality as well. The leaked spec sheet by reliable tipster Evan Blass mentions that it will have a 7-hour battery life. Which is an upgrade from 5 hours of playback from the Pixel Buds A.
And while the total playtime with the case has gone down from 24 to 20 hours, we should mention that the Buds 2a’s numbers are with active noise cancellation (ANC) enabled.
Image: Evan Blass
Yes, unlike its predecessor, this guy also supports ANC. Other than this, these affordable earbuds will also support spatial audio. While things like head tracking, wireless charging, and Google’s advanced ANC with “Silent Seal 2.0” technology will be limited to the Pixel Buds Pro 2.
Google Pixel Buds 2a Price and Availability
The Pixel Buds 2a will debut alongside the Pixel 10 series and the Pixel Watch 4 on August 20. And based on Google’s history, we expect these entry-level earbuds to cost around USD 99.

Honor has announced the release of the new budget phone — the Honor Play 10C — in China. It brings quite a few upgrades over last year’s Honor Play 9C, so let’s learn everything about the new Honor Play 10C, including its expected price in Nepal.
Honor Play 10C Overview
Design and Display
There have been quite a few changes regarding the design this time. Both for the front camera and the ones at the back. So the Honor Play 10C has a hole-punch cutout instead of the teardrop design, while the circular rear camera module looks slightly bigger now. It uses a dual-ring design with the main lens, flash, and decorative element on a textured back for a more modern look.
Honor Play 10C comes in a total of 3 colors — White, Black, and Green. It’s also IP64 dust and splash resistant, meaning it can withstand some water splashes, but it’s not designed for prolonged rain exposure. Up front, it has a 6.61-inch TFT LCD display with up to 120Hz refresh rate and 1,010 nits of full-screen brightness.
For performance, the Honor Play 10C is equipped with a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 (6 nm) processor. With up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. Software-wise, it’s the usual for any new Honor phone, as this guy runs on Android 15-based MagicOS 9.0 as well.
As for the cameras, it has a single 13MP rear camera and a 5MP selfie unit.
But the biggest upgrade on the Honor Play 10C is definitely in terms of battery. Since it now has a 6,000mAh battery versus a 5,200mAh battery on its predecessor. The charging speed has also slightly gone up from 10W to 15W, with an option for 2.5W reverse wired charging.
Cameras: 13MP f/1.8 main camera, 5MP f/2.2 selfie camera
Battery: 6,000mAh with 15W charging support (2.5W reverse charging)
Connectivity: 5G support, Bluetooth 5.3, 3.5mm audio jack
Honor Play 10C Price in Nepal and Availability
This budget phone is currently exclusive to China, where it goes for CNY 649 for the base 4/128GB model. We expect the price of the Honor Play 10C in Nepal to start at around NPR 14,499 if and when it launches here.

Look, the M1 MacBook Air is still a solid pick in 2025. Yeah, it’s from 2020, but Apple’s first custom silicon was kind of a game-changer. You’re getting crazy good battery life – like 15+ hours of actual use. The fanless design means it’s dead silent.
MacBook Air M1
And regarding performance, it will handle most tasks without breaking a sweat. The 13.3-inch Retina display looks crisp. Build quality is typical Apple – a premium aluminum body that feels solid. The only downside is you’re stuck with 8GB RAM, but macOS handles memory pretty well.

The Swift Go 14 packs Intel’s new Ultra 5-125H chip with Arc graphics – basically Intel’s attempt at competing with Apple’s efficiency. The star here is the 2.8K OLED display. Colors pop, blacks are true black, and it’s got a 90Hz refresh rate. For this price range, you don’t usually see OLED panels. Build quality feels decent for the price. It’s not MacBook-level premium, but it doesn’t feel cheap either. The keyboard’s backlit and typing feels comfortable.
The M2 MacBook Air is where Apple fixed most complaints about the M1. You get a bigger 13.6-inch screen, better 1080p webcam, and MagSafe charging is back. Performance bump over M1 isn’t massive for everyday tasks, but you’ll notice it in video editing or heavier workloads.
The new design looks more modern too – flat edges instead of the wedge shape. Still fanless, still crazy good battery life. And you can actually connect two external displays now (though you need to close the laptop).

Acer’s latest with their “AI” branding. Honestly, the AI features aren’t revolutionary, but the underlying hardware is solid. The Ultra 5-226V is Intel’s newest efficiency-focused chip. It’s not gonna blow your mind with raw power, but it sips battery and handles daily tasks smoothly. You get a 14-inch OLED panel again – seems like Acer’s really pushing OLED in their premium Swift lineup. The display quality matches what you’d expect from OLED tech.
Apple’s newest Air just dropped and it’s pretty much what you’d expect – faster chip, same great design. The M4 brings serious performance improvements, especially for graphics-heavy tasks. They finally bumped base RAM to 16GB too, which was long overdue. You can configure it with more storage and RAM, but prices climb fast. The base model hits the sweet spot for most users.

Asus went all-out with the Zenbook S 14. You’re looking at a premium build with some serious specs under the hood. The Ultra 7 256V is Intel’s higher-end efficiency chip. It’s got more cores and better graphics than the Ultra 5 variants.
Performance feels snappy for productivity work. The OLED display is gorgeous – 14-inch with 2.8K resolution. Asus also threw in plenty of RAM and storage. Build quality feels premium with the aluminum construction.
Dell’s budget 2-in-1 isn’t trying to be fancy. It’s just a solid convertible that gets the job done without breaking the bank. The Ryzen 5-8640HS is interesting here – it’s actually a higher-power H-series chip instead of the usual U-series you see at this price.
That means better performance for multitasking and light creative work. The 360-degree hinge feels sturdy enough for daily flipping between laptop and tablet modes. Touchscreen response is decent for the price range.

HP’s Envy x360 brings Intel’s newer Core 5 processor to the budget 2-in-1 space. It’s not as powerful as Dell’s H-series chip, but it’s more efficient. The build quality feels premium for the price – aluminum construction and decent keyboard.
The x360 hinge has been around for years, so HP knows how to make it work. You get a smaller 14-inch screen, but some people prefer the more compact form factor. Battery life should be solid with the efficient Core 5 chip.

Lenovo Yoga 7i 2024 2-in-1 (Ultra 5-125H)
The Yoga 7i is where you start getting into premium 2-in-1 territory. Lenovo’s been making Yoga laptops forever, and they’ve got the formula down. Intel’s Ultra 5-125H brings more performance than the U-series chips in cheaper 2-in-1s.
The integrated Arc graphics can handle light gaming and creative tasks. The build quality is solid – all-aluminum construction with a 360-degree hinge that feels like it’ll last. The keyboard’s comfortable for typing, and the touchscreen is responsive.
The Nitro V 15 just barely squeaks over the 1 lakh mark, but it’s worth the extra few thousand. You’re getting a proper gaming setup with dedicated graphics. The RTX 3050 handles most modern games at 1080p medium settings.
Yeah, it’s not the latest RTX 40-series, but it’s still capable of ray tracing and DLSS. Build quality is typical Acer gaming laptop – plastic but functional. The 144Hz display makes competitive gaming smoother than standard 60Hz panels.

Lenovo’s LOQ 15 2024 comes in two flavors – 12th gen and 13th gen Intel processors. Both pack the RTX 4050, but there’s a noticeable performance gap between the generations that affects more than just CPU tasks.
The 12th gen i5-12450HX model at Rs. 117,000 offers serious value for money with its H-series processor that doesn’t throttle under load like U-series chips do.
Gaming performance hits that sweet spot where you can run most modern titles at high settings while maintaining 60+ FPS. The 13th gen version bumps the price to Rs. 129,999 but brings better single-core performance and improved efficiency – worth it if you’re doing content creation alongside gaming.
Acer decided to go bigger with the Nitro V 16, and honestly, it makes sense. The 16-inch WUXGA display gives you more screen real estate than standard 15.6-inch panels, plus the 1920 x 1200 resolution adds vertical space that’s actually useful for productivity tasks.
What’s interesting here is the 14th-gen i5-14450HX processor – Intel’s latest efficiency improvements mean better thermals and sustained performance during long gaming sessions. The RTX 4050 with 6GB VRAM handles ray tracing better than you’d expect at this price point, though you’ll need to dial back some settings in the most demanding games.
The i7 variants of the LOQ 15 represent where gaming laptops start getting serious about performance. You’ve got two options here – the RTX 4060 model at Rs. 184,999 and the newer RTX 5060 version at Rs. 214,999.
The RTX 4060 is still a solid performer that handles 1440p gaming comfortably, but the RTX 5060 brings DLSS 4 and better ray tracing performance that future-proofs your setup.
Both use the same i7-14700HX processor, which is frankly overkill for most gaming scenarios but shines in CPU-intensive tasks like streaming or video editing while gaming. The cooling system finally feels adequate for these higher-power components, though the fans do get audible under load.
Acer’s Predator line has always been about aggressive gaming aesthetics, and the Helios Neo 16 doesn’t disappoint. The 16-inch display gives you breathing room for multitasking, and the build quality feels more premium than the LOQ series with better materials and tighter tolerances.
The i7-14650HX processor sits between the i5 and top-tier i7 options, providing excellent gaming performance without the power draw of the 14700HX.
Thermals are well-managed thanks to Acer’s custom cooling solution, and you actually get decent battery life when not gaming – something rare in this category. The RTX 4060 runs at higher power limits than some competitors, translating to better frame rates in demanding games.

The Legion 5 has been Lenovo’s mainstream gaming workhorse for years, and the 2024 iterations maintain that reputation.
The 13th gen model at Rs. 192,999 uses the slightly older i7-13650HX, which still performs excellently in games, while the 14th gen version at Rs. 209,999 brings the newer i7-14650HX with better efficiency and slightly higher boost clocks.
What sets the Legion apart from the LOQ series is the build quality – better keyboard, more premium materials, and superior port selection including more USB-A ports and better placement. The Legion’s cooling system is also more refined, running quieter under load while maintaining better temperatures. Both models use the same RTX 4060, so gaming performance is identical.
The Legion 5i 2025 steps into premium territory with the i9-14900HX processor and RTX 5070 graphics combo. This is where you start getting into territory where the laptop can handle 1440p gaming at high refresh rates consistently.
The i9 processor brings 24 cores that absolutely destroy productivity tasks – think video rendering, 3D modeling, and heavy multitasking while streaming. The RTX 5070 is a significant step up from the 4060 series, offering better ray tracing performance and higher base frame rates. Build quality matches the premium pricing with an all-metal construction that feels tank-like while maintaining reasonable portability for a gaming laptop in this class.
The Legion Pro 5i confuses things a bit with two similar models at the same Rs. 274,999 price point – one with RTX 5060 and another Pro model with RTX 5070 at Rs. 324,999. The base model uses Intel’s new Core Ultra 9-275HX processor which brings better efficiency and AI acceleration features, though gaming performance isn’t dramatically different from the regular i9.
Lenovo Legion 5i and Legion Pro 5i (2025) – Design
Where it gets interesting is the Pro model with RTX 5070 – this represents the sweet spot for high-end gaming with enough power for 1440p ray tracing while not being overkill for most users. The build quality across both models is exceptional with premium materials throughout and one of the best gaming keyboards in the business.
Acer went all-in with the “AI” branding here, though most of the AI features are more marketing than revolutionary functionality. What you’re really paying for is the Core Ultra 9-275HX processor and RTX 5070 Ti graphics combination that represents serious gaming horsepower.
The RTX 5070 Ti sits between the regular 5070 and 5080, offering excellent 1440p performance and decent 4K gaming in less demanding titles. The cooling system is where Acer shows its expertise – this thing runs surprisingly cool and quiet for the amount of performance it’s packing. The build quality feels premium with good attention to detail, though it doesn’t quite match the Legion’s all-metal construction.

Asus finally brought AMD back to the premium gaming laptop space with the Ryzen 9-9955HX, and it’s about time. AMD’s latest processor brings excellent multi-core performance that rivals Intel’s best while running cooler and more efficiently.
The RTX 5060 might seem like a step down from the 5070/5070 Ti options above, but Asus configured it well with higher power limits that close the performance gap.
Where the ROG Strix shines is in build quality and features – the keyboard is fantastic for gaming, the display covers 100% sRGB with excellent color accuracy, and the port selection is comprehensive. It’s also one of the quieter gaming laptops in this category thanks to Asus’s refined cooling design.
Lenovo’s Legion Pro 7i 2025 represents Lenovo’s absolute flagship gaming machine, and they’ve pulled out all the stops with three different GPU configurations that cater to different levels of gaming obsession.
The Legion Pro 7i gen10 is built on an Intel Arrow Lake-HX platform with RTX 5070/5080/5090 graphics chips and up to 64 GB of LPDRR5-6400 memory, featuring a 16″ OLED display with 240Hz refresh rate.
The base RTX 5070 Ti model at Rs. 421,900 offers excellent 1440p gaming with ray tracing enabled, while the RTX 5080 version at Rs. 497,900 pushes into serious 4K gaming territory where you can actually maintain playable frame rates in demanding titles.
The flagship RTX 5090 model at Rs. 627,900 is frankly overkill for gaming alone – this is for people who need workstation-class performance for professional 3D rendering, AI workloads, or simply want the absolute best regardless of price.
What ties all three models together is the stunning 16-inch OLED display with a 240Hz refresh rate that delivers true blacks and vibrant colors that make games look phenomenal, plus the premium build quality with aluminum construction throughout.
Asus took a different approach with the ROG Strix G16 2025, focusing on delivering flagship performance with better thermals and quieter operation than most competitors in this class.
The Intel Core Ultra 9-275HX processor paired with the RTX 5070 Ti creates a balanced high-end system that doesn’t compromise on sustained performance during extended gaming sessions – something crucial when you’re spending this much money.
What makes this particular model interesting is Asus’s refined cooling system that manages to keep both the CPU and GPU running at optimal temperatures without the jet engine fan noise that plagues many gaming laptops in this performance tier.
The build quality feels exceptional with premium materials throughout, and the keyboard strikes the right balance between gaming functionality and typing comfort for productivity work. At Rs. 416,899, it sits right between the Legion’s RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5080 models while offering comparable performance to the more expensive option thanks to superior thermal management.
The MacBook Pro M4 Pro represents Apple’s sweet spot for content creators who need serious performance without jumping to the more expensive Max variants. The M4 Pro chip brings significant improvements in video encoding, 3D rendering, and AI workloads compared to previous generations, while the 14-inch form factor keeps it portable enough for on-the-go creative work.
What sets this apart from Windows alternatives isn’t just the raw performance – it’s the integration with creative software where macOS and Apple silicon work together seamlessly.
Video editors working in Final Cut Pro or DaVinci Resolve will see rendering times that often beat much more expensive Windows laptops, while the color-accurate Liquid Retina XDR display with mini-LED backlighting provides the reference-quality visuals that professional work demands.
Battery life remains excellent even under creative workloads, something that simply doesn’t exist in the Windows gaming laptop space. At Rs. 339,000, it’s positioned as the entry point into professional-grade creative computing, though you’ll want to spec up the RAM and storage for serious professional work.
The ROG Zephyrus G16 2025 blurs the line between gaming laptop and content creation workstation in ways that make it genuinely compelling for creators who also want to game.
The Intel Core Ultra 9 285H processor (note the different suffix from the gaming-focused 275HX) prioritizes efficiency and AI acceleration features that benefit creative workflows, while the RTX 5070 Ti provides the CUDA cores and VRAM that video editors and 3D artists need for GPU-accelerated rendering.
Asus engineered this specific model with creators in mind – the display covers 100% of DCI-P3 and comes factory-calibrated for color accuracy, the cooling system prioritizes sustained performance over peak burst speeds, and the port selection includes multiple high-speed USB-C connections for external displays and fast storage.
What makes this particularly interesting at Rs. 478,900 is that it’s one of the few laptops that can genuinely handle both 4K video editing during the day and high-end gaming at night without compromise. The premium price reflects the reality that you’re getting workstation-class features in a gaming laptop form factor, which is exactly what many modern content creators need.
Pure gaming performance: The Legion Pro 7i with RTX 5080 or 5090 delivers the absolute highest frame rates, but you’re paying premium prices for diminishing returns.
Balanced high-end gaming: The Asus ROG Strix G16 with RTX 5070 Ti offers 95% of the performance at a lower price with better thermals and build quality.
Content creation on macOS: The MacBook Pro M4 Pro provides great creative performance with unmatched battery life and display quality for professional work.
Gaming + content creation: The ROG Zephyrus G16 2025 is the only laptop that truly excels at both demanding creative work and high-end gaming without compromise.
Best value in high-end: The Legion Pro 7i RTX 5070 Ti gives you flagship performance at the lowest entry price, though build quality and thermals aren’t quite as refined as Asus options.
The reality is that once you’re spending over Rs. 4 lakh on a laptop, you’re paying for the absolute best performance available. The differences between these models come down to your specific needs – pure gaming, content creation, or the rare combination of both at the highest level.
Another startup walked away with funding on Shark Tank Nepal, this time it’s NepMeds – an online pharmacy and digital healthcare platform that landed NPR 2 crore for 40% equity. This article will discuss everything about NepMeds, including their business model, services, and current market position in Nepal.
NepMeds Platform Overview
Digital Pharmacy Business
NepMeds operates as Nepal’s online pharmacy, and it lets users order prescription and over-the-counter medicines through their website or mobile app.
They’re covering the basics you’d expect – generic medicines, branded drugs, wellness products, vitamins, supplements, and even Ayurveda items. But they’re not stopping at just medicines. The platform also stocks beauty products, baby care items, surgical consumables, and medical devices.
Here’s where it gets more interesting – they’ve expanded beyond just selling pills. You can book online doctor consultations, schedule lab tests, arrange vaccinations, and store health records on their platform. They’ve also built a health and wellness content library. Whether people actually want all these services bundled together or prefer specialized platforms for different needs is something the market will decide.
User Experience and Payments
The platform lets you upload prescriptions, track orders, and set refill reminders. Payment options include cash on delivery, mobile banking through e-Sewa and Khalti, cards, or their in-app wallet. One feature they highlight is the ability to order medicines from abroad for family back home. Could be useful for the large Nepali diaspora.
Revenue Claims
During their Shark Tank pitch, the founders claimed they’ve generated NPR 7 crore in total revenue since inception. Now, let’s see how it goes for them in the long run.
A Nepali startup just secured NPR 1 crore for 40% equity on Shark Tank Nepal, and their pitch was pretty compelling – a locally-made air quality monitoring device that costs 90% less than imported alternatives. This article will discuss everything about VayuDrishti’s air monitoring device, including its price in Nepal, specifications, and what makes it different from smartphone apps.
VayuDrishti Air Monitor Overview
The Hyper-Local Pitch
When the sharks asked why anyone would buy a separate device instead of just checking air quality on their phone, the founders had their answer ready. Phone apps, they claimed, only show generalized data for larger areas – but air quality can supposedly vary dramatically even within short distances.
Their argument was that your phone might show the same reading whether you’re near a busy road or in your backyard.
The Device Claims
The device tracks PM2.5, PM10, CO₂, and O₃ levels, plus environmental factors like temperature, humidity, wind speed, and direction. All this data syncs to a dashboard in real-time.
It costs around USD 350, which they say is roughly 90% cheaper than imported monitoring systems. But whether most people actually need this level of hyper-local data monitoring is debatable – especially when basic air quality info is already available for free, and in my opinion, the climate crisis is impending in such an catastrophic way, that we might have even expected, such tech “solution” could probably be washed up in vain if bigger issues are not adressed first.
Anyway, the system supports both solar and grid power, so you can install it basically anywhere. This flexibility should be crucial for Nepal, where power reliability can be an issue in some areas. The team also mentioned they also have an air purifier to complement the monitoring device.
Technical Capabilities
The device covers a wide range of measurements. PM2.5 and PM10 go up to 1000 μg/m³, CO₂ measures up to 5000 ppm, and ozone tracks up to 1000 ppb. Temperature range is massive too – from -40°C to 85°C, which should handle any climate conditions in Nepal.
Wind speed measurement goes up to 60 m/s, and humidity covers the full 0-100% range. All things considered, it’s a comprehensive monitoring solution.
VayuDrishti Monitor Price in Nepal and Availability
The device costs around USD 350 internationally, and in Nepal, it is priced at approximately NPR 20,000. After securing NPR 1 crore funding on Shark Tank Nepal, the startup should be able to scale production and potentially bring costs down further.
