Design and Display
Kicking off with the design, the Helios Neo 16 2023 wraps a gaming vibe with a fancy RGB keyboard and lights. This time, the display lid houses laser-engraved unique codes for customization. And as for the dimensions, it will go up to 28.25mm thick and 2.6kg of weight.
On the display side, Acer has provided two options— a 165Hz IPS panel with 2,560 x 1,600 resolutions and 500 nit brightness, as well as a 165Hz panel with 1,920 x 1,200 resolution and 400 nit brightness. Regardless of the resolution, both screens boast 100% sRGB color gamut, Nvidia Advanced Optimus with G-SYNC, and a 3ms response time.
Performance
The laptop gets two options for processors: i5-13500HX and i7-13700HX. These 13th Gen Intel CPUs are accompanied by NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4050 (6GB), RTX 4060 (8GB), or RTX 4070 (8GB), and 140W TGP. The laptop supports up to 32GB of DDR5 RAM and 2TB of NVMe SSD storage, ensuring fast loading times and smooth multitasking.
Acer has used a state-of-the-art cooling system here. It includes all-metal 5th gen AeroBlade fan technology plus liquid metal thermal paste for those gaming actions.
Ports and Others
Talking of ports and connectivity, it comes with a range of options. You get 2x Thunderbolt 4 connectors, 3x USB-A 3.2 Gen 2, HDMI 2.1 video out, plus audio and GbE jacks along with a microSD card reader. Fueling the gaming machine is a 4-cell battery that can last up to 5 hours on a single charge.
