At this year’s CES, Acer refreshed the Predator Helios series of gaming laptops. The lineup is now streamlined and consists of just two models, namely Helios 16 and Helios 18. The former is already up for pre-order in Nepal. So, let’s get into the specs, features, price, and availability of the Acer Predator Helios 16 (2023) in Nepal.
Acer Predator Helios 16 (2023) Overview:
Performance and Cooling
Let’s start with performance—the new Helios 16 brings the latest gaming processors from Intel and NVIDIA. On the high end, it comes with the Core i9-13900HX processor. It is a “desktop-level” mobile processor with 24 cores and a max turbo frequency of 3.90GHz. Acer offers the laptop with the 14-core Core i7-13700H as well.
The Raptor Lake gaming CPUs are complemented by NVIDIA’s RTX 40-series GPU. There are four Ada Lovelace-based GPUs models up for grabs. For now, only three of them are available in Nepal, RTX 4050, 4060, and 4070. Looks like, we will have to wait further for the RTX 4080 (165W) being the top-of-the-line model.
You can configure the laptop with up to 32GB of dual-channel DDR5 RAM and up to 2TB of PCIe 4 SSD in RAID 0.

Cooling and Customization
Keeping the new Predator Helios 16 (2023) cool are the two 5th Gen Aeroblade 3D fans. They are paired with vector heat pipes that take the heat away from the CPU and the GPU. Acer has also applied liquid metal to the CPU.
This will keep the laptop cool, especially in Turbo mode, which goes all-out with overclocking. There are three more presets, and you also get a dedicated Mode key to switch between them.
There is another key to access the NitroSense app quickly. The app is now on version 4 and features a new Scenario Manager for personal performance profiles. It also supports the new Predator Pulsar lighting for the mini-LED backlit keyboard. Acer has also improved the per-key RGB for more uniform lighting.
Design and Display
Acer has also redesigned the Predator laptops from the ground up. The new Helios 16 looks more subtle with clean edges and a revamped rear panel. The latter now houses a light bar just above the exhaust vents. It is also where some of the ports are located, including two Thunderbolt 4, one HDMI, and a power-in. The rest of the ports are three UBS 3.2 Gen 2, one ethernet, an SD card reader, a combined audio jack, and a Kensington lock. They are spread across the two sides.
Lastly, Acer Predator Helios 16 brings a 16:10 WQXGA display supporting Advanced Optimus. The 250Hz Mini-LED option is not available in Nepal, so you will have to go with either 165Hz or 240Hz IPS. The latter also has 100% DCI-P3 coverage compared to the sRGB coverage of the former.
