Samsung Galaxy A15 makes its debut with Helio G99 chipset!

The Samsung Galaxy A-lineup are one of the most popular offerings from Samsung. The South Korean tech giant has now launched the 2023 update for their highest-selling phone — the Samsung Galaxy A14 (4G). In this article, we will discuss the Samsung Galaxy A15, its detailed specifications, expected price in Nepal, and so on.

Samsung Galaxy A15 Overview

Design and Display

Samsung recently has been adopting a single design pattern for its Galaxy series of phones. As such, it features a vertical camera line-up while featuring the company logo on the bottom half of the back. Meanwhile, this time around Samsung has introduced something called a “key island”. It is a slight elevation on the right side of the frame and features the volume rockers and power button/fingerprint sensor.

On the front, we are getting a 6.5” Super AMOLED with a U-shaped waterdrop camera cutout. It is also an FHD+ screen with a 1,080 x 2,340 pixels resolution. In the meantime, it offers a 90Hz refresh rate alongside a peak brightness of 800 nits and a Vision Booster feature. The Galaxy A15 ships in four different colours: Personality Yellow, Fantasy Blue, Optimistic Blue, and Black.

Performance

This is where the Samsung Galaxy A15 LTE variant differs from its 5G counterpart. Under the hood, the A15 LTE has opted for the MediaTek Helio G99 instead of its homegrown Exynos chipset. This MediaTek SoC is an octa-core processor built on a 6nm fabrication process offering a peak clock speed of 2.2 GHz. In the meantime, the Samsung Galaxy A15 will ship in two configurations, those being 8 GB + 128 GB, and 8 GB + 256 GB. Furthermore, it offers storage expansion up to 1TB via a MicroSD card. On the software front, it will ship with the One UI 6.0 based on Android 14. Lastly, Samsung is offering 4 versions of system updates and 5 years of security updates with the Galaxy A15.

Camera and the rest

We already had leaks on what the cameras on the Samsung Galaxy A15 would be, and I must say it checks out. The phone features a 50MP primary camera with autofocus. It is coupled with a 5MP ultrawide unit and a 2MP auxiliary unit. We were assuming the auxiliary unit to be a depth sensor but it turns out to be a macro lens. Meanwhile, the Samsung Galaxy A15 will feature a 13MP shooter on the front.

Powering this smartphone is a 5,000 mAh battery with 25W fast charging capabilities. It will offer wireless connectivity with dual-band WiFi, 4G cellular connectivity, and Bluetooth. Similarly, it will also offer wired connectivity via USB Type-C and 3.5mm headphone jack.

Samsung Galaxy A15 Price in Nepal and Availability

The Samsung Galaxy A15 has been announced and will start shipping on 16 December 2023 in Vietnam alongside its 5G variant and Samsung Galaxy A25. Given that, this smartphone will be live with a starting price tag of VND 4,990,000. Accordingly, when it makes its way here, we expect the Samsung Galaxy A15 price in Nepal to be NPR 32,999.
