Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra announced with a 200MP camera and a 5000mAh battery

Samsung has officially launched the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, alongside the standard Galaxy Z Fold8 and Z Flip8. The new book-style foldable brings upgrades like an 8-inch Dynamic LTPO AMOLED main display, a 200MP primary camera, a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor, and a 5,000mAh battery. In this article, I will discuss everything you need to know about the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, including its specifications, availability, and expected price in Nepal. 

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra Overview

Design and Display

Starting with the design, the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra brings a larger form factor compared to the standard Fold8, offering a more tablet-like experience when unfolded. It features Samsung’s Advanced Armor Aluminum frame for improved durability. 

Despite its larger size, the phone measures 8.9mm thin when folded and 4.1mm when unfolded, while weighing 215g. It retains an IP48 rating for dust and water resistance. The Fold8 Ultra is available in Graphite, Cream, Violet Shadow, and Green Shadow color options.

Moving on to the display, the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra features an 8-inch Dynamic LTPO AMOLED 2X main folding panel with a QXGA+ resolution of 2504 x 2256 pixels. On the outside, it gets a 6.5-inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X cover display with a resolution of 2520 x 1080 pixels. Both screens support an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate for smoother scrolling and animations. 

And just like the standard Z Fold8, both displays come with Vision Booster for improved visibility in bright environments and can reach up to 3,000 nits of peak brightness. Camera and Battery

In terms of optics, the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra comes with a triple-camera setup at the rear, where you get a 200MP primary camera, a 50MP ultrawide camera, and a 10MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom. The main sensor supports optical image stabilization (OIS) for steadier photos and videos, while the telephoto lens helps capture detailed shots from a distance.

Likewise, for selfies and video calls, the phone features dual 10MP front-facing cameras, with one placed on the cover display and another on the inner folding display, offering a consistent camera experience across both screens.
 

For the battery, the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra packs a 5,000mAh battery, which is larger than the standard Fold8’s 4,800mAh cell. And similar to the standard model, it supports 45W wired charging, 20W wireless charging, and 4.5W reverse wireless charging for flexibility.
