Samsung just dropped the Galaxy F17 in India, and if you’ve been following the A-series and M-series lineup, you’ll notice it feels oddly familiar. The F17 is essentially an A17 under a new name, with minor tweaks and fresh color options. Now let’s jump in this article, where i will discuss everything about the latest Galaxy F17, including its price in Nepal, specifications, and availability.

Samsung Galaxy F17 Overview

Display and Design

Samsung Galaxy F17 5G Design and Display

The F17 packs a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 90Hz refresh rate protected by Gorilla Glass Victus. The design is straight out of the A17 playbook (thick bezels, a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, and a slightly chunky frame). Samsung offers it in Violet Pop and Neo Black.

Compared to the F16, the F17 has a slightly different camera module as well. But the notch is still the waterdrop type, which i personally find really dated.

Performance and Software

At its core, the F17 runs the Exynos 1330, the same chipset powering the A17, but has been changed from F16’s Dimensity 6300. Similarly, you’re looking at 4GB or 6GB of RAM paired with 128GB of storage. Based on our experience with Exynos 1330 chipset’s performance, we have noted that heavy gaming wasn’t its strong suit; think PUBG around 30fps and Mobile Legends slightly smoother, but don’t its simply not a phone to game.

Software is One UI 7.0 based on Android 15, and Samsung promises six years of updates.  The experience of One UI 7.0 is really smooth, and One UI feels familiar if you’ve used any recent Samsung device.

Camera and Battery

Galaxy F17 5G CAMERA

The F17 carries a triple-camera setup: a 50MP main sensor, a 5MP ultrawide, and a 2MP depth helper. In daylight, it should shoot crisp, colorful photos, much like the A17. Portrait shots were decent, and so should be in the F17 as well.

Meanwhile, Samsung refrains from using the latest batteries, say the ones you’d see in Redmi and Realme phones featuring above 7000 mAh battery. But just like usual, this Samsung phone also features a 5,000mAh battery. The charging is limited to 25W wired charging, which would take roughly an hour and a half. And I guess it’s also worth noting if you buy this phone, try carrying the charger with you all the time, because the phone is not compatible with the chargers provided in other devices.
