ARM-based Apple 13 inch MacBook Air 2020 Pro Price Nepal launch availability

Apple has finally announced its Arm-based M1 silicon for Mac. During the “One More Thing” event, the company also launched the first Mac devices to be powered by the SoC. Let’s take a look at the new Arm-based Apple M1 Chip powered MacBook Air (2020) and 13-inch MacBook Pro, Mac mini along with their specs, features, expected price, availability in Nepal.

M1 Silicon for Mac

Before we get into the details of the two new MacBook, let’s talk about the M1 silicon. It is the most notable difference in them compared to prior models to this year, which used to be powered by Intel’s processor. Apple claims that the new M1 chip is the company’s most powerful chip and the first one to be designed specifically for Mac. It is also the first PC chip to be built using the 5nm process node. Apple has been able to fit in 16 billion transistors in the chipset. ARM based Apple M1 silicon

It is an octa-core processor with four high-performance and four high-efficiency cores. Apple claims that it offers the world’s best CPU performance per watt. The eight-core GPU is also capable of running 25,000 threads simultaneously. Thus, Apple is claiming it to be the world’s fastest integrated graphics. The Neural Engine has 16 cores and can compute 11 trillion operations per second. With ML Accelerators, it offers up to 15x faster machine learning performance.

Apple has also optimized the upcoming macOS Big Sur (launching on November 12) to make the most out of the new chip. Most of Apple’s Mac Software is now universal and the rest can run on the M1 chip using Apple’s Rosetta 2 technology. Similarly, it can also run iPhone and iPad apps directly on a Mac.
