Key Details of the Insurance Program

The new insurance program, resulting from a bilateral agreement signed between Indrive Nepal’s Director, Rita Pokharel, and Sagarmatha Insurance’s CEO, Chunky Kshetri, offers accident coverage for all users of the ride-hailing service.

Under this program, passengers and drivers are entitled to compensation in case of accidents. If an individual loses their life due to an accident, their family will receive up to NPR 800,000. The same compensation is offered in the case of total disability.

Additionally, the insurance will cover medical expenses up to NPR 80,000, providing further relief to those affected by accidents. For minor passengers, 50% of the compensation amount will be granted to ensure they also receive support.

A step forward in addressing safety

The introduction of this insurance program is a welcome step for the ride-hailing sector, which has often been criticized for lacking comprehensive safety measures. With this initiative, Indrive aims to build more trust among its users and ensure better protection for all those using its services.
