Samsung’s Project Moohan will give a tough time to Vision Pro

Apple Vision Pro was definitely a groundbreaking innovation, I would say. With that, it was pretty obvious that Samsung would have to come up with something even better to compete. Enter Project Moohan, Samsung’s mixed reality headset. According to the latest leaks, this new headset might outdo Apple’s Vision Pro, which already boasts an impressive 2MP per eye display. Exciting, right? Let’s break it down.

Project Moohan Overview

We were expecting Samsung to reveal something about Project Moohan at MWC 2025; sadly, the company said nothing. But there are a few things we know about this project recently.

What’s the fuss about?

What sets Samsung apart from everyone is that the Project Moohan will come with a 1.35-inch micro-OLED display boasting a staggering 3,800 pixels per inch resolution. That’s a major leap compared to Vision Pro’s 2MP per eye. The screen specs seem pretty close to Sony’s SRH-S1, which has a 3,552 x 3,840 resolution, 1000-nits brightness, 96% DCI-P3 color gamut, and a smooth 90Hz refresh rate.

Apple's Vision Pro
Image: Apple’s Vision Pro

Moohan will also have a 4% better color accuracy than the Vison Pro. Moreover, it is going to use the OLED on Silicon (OLEDoS) tech, which is pretty next-gen too, as it applies micro-OLED elements directly to a silicon base. This will make for better overall quality, especially with brighter and more accurate colors. Samsung plans to ship 100,000 Moohan headsets to start, with cheaper models on the way down the line, potentially featuring 2.1-inch screens with a 1,700 ppi pixel density.

When will it be available?

This is where things get a little vague. According to reports, Sony is starting to mass-produce OLEDOs panels ( I mentioned above), which will then ship to Samsung. So, there is a lot of work to be done, which means we won’t get to see Project Moohan anytime soon. There were earlier rumors that Samsung wanted to launch the headset in 2023, but those plans apparently got delayed once they saw how the Vision Pro performed. We’ll probably have to wait until the next Galaxy Unpacked event this summer for Samsung to drop more details. But one thing’s for sure that this XR headset is going to be a serious contender for Apple’s Vision Pro. Can’t wait to see how it all unfolds!

Honor Magic V4 could be the thinnest foldable phone with 200MP zoom lens

Honor has made quite a name for itself in the foldable market with its V series. After the success of the Magic V1, V2, and V3, the company is gearing up for the release of the Magic V4. Let’s dive into what we know about the upcoming device.

Honor Magic V4 Rumor Overview

Honor’s Magic V3 held the title of the thinnest book-style foldable phone previously, but Oppo recently took that crown with the Find N5 last month. However, Honor is expected to take that title back with the Magic V4, which is rumored to launch this June. Though this leak doesn’t specifically mention the name, everything suggests it is the Magic V4.

Honor Magic V4 Rumored Specs

Design and Display

The Magic V4 is expected to be super sleek, under 9mm thin when folded, matching or even surpassing the Find N5’s slimness. The inner display will be an 8-inch LTPO screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and 2K resolution for smooth visuals. The cover screen will also be of the same panel and refresh rate and measure 6.45 inches. For durability, the device will have an IPX8 waterproof rating, and for added security, it will sport a side-mounted fingerprint sensor instead of an in-display one.

Honor Magic V4 Design

Performance and Battery

Rumor has it that the Magic V4 will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen Elite chipset (full-core version) instead of the seven-core version used in the Oppo Find N5. In terms of battery, Honor is expected to push the Magic V4’s capacity to 6,000 mAh, which could set a new benchmark for foldable phones. Foldable devices often struggle in the battery department compared to regular smartphones. So we hope Honor shows its charm and changes its record.

Snapdragon 8 Elite

Camera and Features

For photography, the Magic V4 will come with a 50MP main camera with a 1/1.5’’ sensor. The standout upgrade is a 200MP periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and a 1/1.4’’ sensor, which is definitely a big leap from the 50MP zoom lens on the Magic V3. There’s likely another sensor in the mix, but we are not sure about the details. Other rumored features include wireless charging and satellite communication support.

Honor Magic V4 Expected Specifications

  • Design: Sleek, foldable, and slim
  • Display:
    • 8-inch LTPO inner display, 120Hz, 2K resolution
    • 6.45-inch LTPO cover display, 120Hz
  • Protection: IPX8 waterproof rating
  • Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen Elite (full-core version)
  • Battery: 6,000mAh
  • Camera:
    • 50MP main camera, 1/1.5’’ sensor
    • 200MP periscope telephoto, 3x optical zoom, 1/1.4’’ sensor
    • Likely additional sensor
  • Additional Features: Wireless charging, satellite communication support

Honor Magic V4 Availability

Although there hasn’t been an official word from Honor yet, the Magic V4 is expected to launch in the third quarter of 2025, likely in July, because that’s when the V3 made its debut in 2024. So, mark your calendars!

HONOR shakes Up MWC 2025 with AI Plans and so much more

0
HONOR splashed at MWC 2025 in Barcelona, making a bold AI strategy and new devices. This article will discuss everything about the latest Honor Alpha Plan and what went down.

HONOR ALPHA PLAN Overview

honor alpha plan

HONOR kicked things off with the HONOR ALPHA PLAN, a three-step strategy to become a top player in AI device ecosystems. It’s a big shift from just making smartphones. They’re putting $10 billion into this over the next five years and teaming up with companies like Qualcomm and Google Cloud. The plan starts with smarter phones, moves to physical AI devices, and ends with a push into the AGI era. Each step builds on the last, aiming to change how tech fits into our lives.

Step 1: Smartphones with AI Agents

The first part focuses on phones that do more on their own. HONOR wants to add AI agents that can handle tasks like booking a restaurant by checking your calendar and traffic. In addition, they’re rolling out features like AiMAGE to boost camera quality. This sets the stage for a more connected device lineup.

Step 2: Physical AI Devices

Next, HONOR plans to branch out into physical AI gear. Think robots or other smart devices that go beyond phones. Furthermore, they aim to work with others in the industry to create a new standard for AI ecosystems. It’s about opening up new possibilities for tech.

Step 3: AGI Era

The final step is all about the artificial general intelligence (AGI) era. HONOR wants to help shape a new tech paradigm that could impact society on a big scale. For example, they see this as a way to unlock human potential through AI. It’s a long-term vision with a lot riding on it.

HONOR ALPHA PLAN launch date

HONOR also showed off some new devices to back up their AI focus. The HONOR MagicBook Pro 14 is a laptop with long battery life and a vine-leaf curved design. Additionally, the HONOR Pad V9 is a tablet with an 11.5-inch display and MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Elite for work or study. The HONOR Watch 5 Ultra offers 15 days of battery life and tracks fitness. Meanwhile, the HONOR Earbuds Open bring real-time translation to the table.

Realme 14 “Pro Lite” launched as a rebranded Realme 13 Pro!

Realme introduced the 14 Pro series in January with the release of Realme 14 Pro and Realme 14 Pro+. Now, we have a Pro Lite version. Yup, a “Pro Lite” version! A model that is better than the base but lies below the Pro model? Well, that’s what it looks like so in this piece, let’s walk through its specs and features, alongside expected price in Nepal and availability.

Realme 14 Pro Lite Overview

Design and Display

Realme has used a very similar design pattern for its number series for a while now. The new Realme 14 Pro Lite is no different, and it won’t be completely wrong if we say the form factor is copied from the Realme 13 Pro 5G. The device features a sleek, shimmering finish with a glittery pattern and a circular camera island on the back.

Realme 14 Pro Lite Price in Nepal

The front sports a 6.7-inch FullHD+ OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, 2,000 nits peak brightness, and Gorilla Glass 7i protection. For durability, the phone comes with an IP65 rating. You’ll also find an in-display fingerprint scanner for security. The Pro Lite is available in Glass Gold and Glass Purple colors.

Performance and Battery

Under the hood, the Realme 14 Pro Lite is powered by the Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC. This chip includes 4 Cortex-A78 cores clocked at 2.4GHz and 4 Cortex-A55 cores clocked at 1.95GHz. The phone comes with 8GB RAM (plus an extra 8GB of Dynamic RAM) and up to 256GB of storage.

Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 SoC

It runs on Realme UI 5.0 based on Android 14, which is a step down from the Pro and Pro+ versions, which have Android 15-based Realme UI 6.0. Guess we will have to sacrifice somewhere!  As for battery life, the Pro Lite packs a 5,200 mAh battery with 45W fast charging.

Camera and Extras

The Realme 14 Pro Lite features a 50MP primary camera with a Sony LYT-600 OSI sensor, along with an 8MP ultrawide lens (112-degree FOV). On the front, there’s a 32MP selfie camera. The phone also includes dual speakers with Hi-Res Audio for an improved sound experience.

Honestly, with specs like that, I was hoping this to be the ‘Realme 14’ but guess Realme has come up with a new lineup in between its base and Pro variants. While the specs are all good, I was hoping we’d be getting some innovation like a new camera or chipset instead of a full-on rebrand.

Realme 14 Pro Lite Specifications

  • Design: Sleek, shimmering pattern, circular camera island
  • Display: 6.7-inch FullHD+ OLED, 120Hz refresh rate, 2,000 nits peak brightness
  • Brightness: 2,000 nits peak brightness
  • Protection: Gorilla Glass 7i
  • Chipset: Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 (Octa-core, 4x Cortex-A78 @ 2.4GHz, 4x Cortex-A55 @ 1.95GHz)
  • RAM: 8GB (plus 8GB Dynamic RAM)
  • ROM: Up to 256GB storage
  • OS/UI: Realme UI 5.0 based on Android 14
  • Battery: 5,200mAh with 45W charging

Tecno sets the right example of thin phone with its Spark Slim

While we’re all waiting on Apple to drop the iPhone 17 Slim, Android has already jumped ahead with something fresh and sleek. Enter the Tecno Spark Slim, a phone that’s not just thin but packed with impressive features. Revealed at this year’s MWC, this phone measures an insane 5.75mm in thickness. In this article, we will discuss the specifications and expected price in Nepal.

Tecno Spark Slim Overview

Before we get into the specs, let me tell you that the Tecno Spark Slim is a concept phone that is not making its way to the market in this shape and size. However, the company plans to bring some of the cool ideas from this concept into a real product soon. Let’s talk about the specs of this handset anyway.

Design and Display

I think the Tecno Spark Slim has a premium look that gives off Google Pixel vibes. The phone sports a curvy design, with a rear panel that looks like stainless steel (but is actually plastic) and a ceramic finish. For protection, it comes with a Gorilla Glass on the front. The phone’s unibody construction is solid, making it feel sleek and smooth in the hand. At just 5.75mm thick and 146g in weight, the device is light and ultra-slim. Fun fact: The company added some weight to make it feel more solid otherwise, it might’ve felt more like a toy.

Tecno Spark Slim Feature

On the back, you’ll find a cool LED notification light bar sitting between two cameras. It’s a little flashy but in a good way. As for the screen, it’s a 6.78-inch AMOLED display with 1220p resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. Not only does it look stunning, but it also comes with 4500 nits of peak brightness.

Battery and Rest

Powering this beauty is a 5,200 mAh battery that’s only 4.04mm thick. The slim design doesn’t take away from the battery life. And with 45W fast-charging support, you won’t be waiting forever for a full charge, which is definitely a win for a phone this thin.

Tecno Spark Slim Thinness

For the cameras, the Tecno Spark Slim features a solid 50MP primary sensor, which should give you great shots in most conditions. There’s also buzz about the phone featuring the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chipset, but we’re not entirely sure about that just yet.

Tecno Spark Slim Specifications

  • Design: Slim, curvy aesthetic with plastic (looks like stainless steel) and ceramic rear panel
  • Dimensions: 5.75mm thickness, 146g weight
  • Display: 6.78-inch AMOLED, 1220p resolution, 144Hz refresh rate, 4500 nits peak brightness
  • Battery: 5,200mAh, 4.04mm thickness, 45W fast charging
  • Camera: 50MP rear camera
  • Processor: Likely Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 (still unconfirmed)
  • Other Features: Notification light-bar LED, Gorilla Glass protection on the front

Tecno Spark Slim Conclusion

Though still a concept, the Tecno Spark Slim already shows a lot of promise, especially for those who crave slim yet powerful devices. Keep an eye out, as this concept might shape the future of smartphones!

HMD Crest review: The best phone under Rs. 20,000 in Nepal!

0

The 20K segment is pretty competitive with the likes of Redmi, Vivo, Realme, and such topping the charts. But there is a new contender which might disrupt the market. It’s none other than the HMD Crest, and its 6/128GB variant costs exactly 19,000 rupees, which is around 4,000 rupees cheaper in Nepal compared to India. At this price, you get a high refresh rate AMOLED display along with a powerful 5G processor, which no other budget phone under 20,000 rupees in Nepal offers. And I have already used this phone for over a week, and I’ll be sharing my experience in this HMD Crest Review.

About HMD

Some of you might be hearing the name “HMD” for the first time. HMD is a Finland-based smartphone brand that has been making Nokia’s Android and feature phones. But recently, HMD has started launching phones under its own name.

Display and Design

  • 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel
  • 90Hz refresh rate

The thing I liked the most about the HMD Crest is its display. Usually, brands like Redmi, Samsung, and Vivo provide LCD screens, but here, you get an AMOLED panel. On top of that, it’s a Full HD display with a 90Hz refresh rate, no compromises made, whatsoever. Whether you’re browsing the web, watching TikTok, Instagram Reels, or YouTube videos, everything looks crisp and smooth. The only thing missing is a stereo speaker setup; otherwise, the multimedia experience would have been even better. Still, getting a proper AMOLED panel at such an affordable price makes it easy to overlook small shortcomings. Considering everything, the display of the HMD Crest is undoubtedly the best in the 20,000-rupee segment.

Moving on to design and build, the phone looks quite modern. Instead of a U-shaped notch, HMD has given a hole-punch cutout at the front, and the hands-on feel is quite nice. It has flat edges for a modern aesthetic, and the power button also doubles as a fingerprint sensor. The build material is entirely plastic, but surprisingly, it doesn’t feel that cheap.

HMD Crest Display

Repairability

One important aspect of this phone is its repairability. According to HMD, you can replace the battery, charging port, back cover, and even the screen yourself. There’s a Repair Kit available for around 2,000 rupees, though it’s not available in Nepal yet. However, the company has announced that it will be coming soon.

Performance

  • Unisoc T760 5G (4nm)
  • 6GB LPDDR4X RAM, 128GB storage UFS 2.2 (fixed)
  • Android 14

Now, let’s talk about performance. The HMD Crest comes with the Unisoc T760 5G chipset, 6GB RAM, and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage. The AnTuTu score of the HMD Crest 5G is 460,000, which is the highest among phones under 20,000 rupees in Nepal. Another highlight is its UI, as it runs stock Android 14, offering a clean software experience with no ads or bloatware. Easily the cleanest UI experience on a budget phone. For gaming, casual games like Subway Surfers, Temple Run, and Clash Royale run smoothly, and even PUBG plays decently at 40 fps. Overall, the performance and software of the HMD Crest are excellent for the price.

HMD Crest Gaming

Connectivity

  • 5G, 4G, VoLTE
  • Bluetooth 5.0

In terms of connectivity, the HMD Crest supports all the necessary frequency bands for NTC and Ncell, including Band 20. This means even if you live in a rural area, you’ll still get a strong 4G connection for NTC. In urban areas, carrier aggregation is supported for faster 4G speeds. Meanwhile, VoLTE works on NTC alongside carrier video calling.

HMD Crest Casual 2

Battery Life

  • 5,000 mAh battery (33W wired charging)
  • 33W PD power adapter inside the box

Battery life is also really impressive. It has a large 5,000 mAh battery, which easily lasted me a day and a half on average usage. When it comes to charging, other brands need to learn from HMD because it includes a 33W PD charger in the box, along with a Type-C to Type-C cable—something even many midrange and premium midrange phones don’t offer. This charger can even be used to charge other PD-supported devices like iPhones and MacBooks. As for the phone itself, it takes around 1.5 hours to fully charge.

HMD Crest Charging

Cameras

  • Dual camera setup at the back
  • (50MP main, 2MP depth)
  • 50MP selfie camera (hole-punch cutout)

Finally, let’s discuss the cameras. The HMD Crest has a total of three camera sensors: a 50MP primary sensor, a 2MP depth sensor, and a 50MP selfie camera. While the specs sound good, the actual camera quality is just average and the app itself also feels slow.

HMD Crest Camera

Daylight

The daylight photos are just average, the details are not adequate, while the white balance is slightly off.

Portraits

The portraits are just decent if not great. The dynamic range is just as in every other budget phone. Overall,

Selfie

The selfies are nice though and usable. More like social media ready, I’d say.

Lowlight

When the sun goes down, the HMD Crest’s night mode can offer some help. Although I don’t recommend clicking night shots from a budget phone unless you have a special moment to be captured.

Video recording is limited to 1080p at 30fps on both the front and rear cameras, and the overall video quality is quite average. But again, this is a budget phone, so there’s no point in being too picky. In good lighting conditions, it captures decent photos, and I especially liked the selfie camera. It performs better than budget phones from other Chinese brands.

HMD Crest Review: Conclusion

So, in conclusion, for 19,000 rupees, the HMD Crest is the best budget phone in Nepal right now. It offers a great 90Hz AMOLED display, smooth performance, a clean stock Android experience, and an all-day battery life. On top of that, HMD includes a 33W PD charger in the box, and its Unisoc processor supports 5G, making it future-proof. If you’re looking for a well-balanced budget phone around 20,000 rupees, the HMD Crest is the one to go for!

HMD Crest Casual

HMD Crest Review: Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Excellent AMOLED panel on a budget
  • Clean Stock Android Experience
  • 33W PD charger in the box

Cons

  • Average back camera
  • Single Speaker

Just like the chipset, we don’t think there would be major compromise on the camera as well. It should also feature a triple camera setup, with one featuring a telephoto camera.

Honor Magic7 Mini Pricing and Launch Date

We do not have any information on the pricing and availability of the upcoming Honor Magic7 Mini, hence we will update as soon we get the information.

Vivo launches T4x 5G in India with a large 6500mAh battery

Vivo has launched the Vivo T4x 5G as a successor to the Vivo T3x 5G. This new phone brings a bigger battery and improved internal specs. Let’s get into the depth of the key features of the Vivo T4x 5G, including its expected price in Nepal.

Vivo T4x 5G Overview

Design and Display

The Vivo T4x 5G measures 165.7 x 76.3 x 8.09 dimensions with a plain Pronto Purple weighing 204g and a shimmering Marine Blue variant weighing 208g. The phone has a sleek design with a squircle Dynamic Light unit on the back, along with an LED flash.

Vivo T4x 5G Design and Display

The 6.72-inch FHD+ LCD screen (1,080 x 2,408 pixels) is large and sharp, perfect for watching content, but I think for a 5G model, they could have gone with an AMOLED display this time. Moreover, with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1050 nits brightness, it promises smooth visuals and bright colors. Plus, it has TÜV Rheinland Eye Protection certification for eye safety. Not just that, it is also built to be durable with MIL-STD-810H military-grade and IP64 dust and water resistance. For extra security, the device comes with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

Performance and Battery

Under the hood, the Vivo T4x 5G is powered by an octa-core MediaTek 7300 chipset, which includes 4 Cortex-A78 cores (up to 2.5GHz) and 4 Cortex-A55 cores. This chipset handles everyday tasks easily and light gaming quite well. Likewise, in terms of graphics, the handset comes with the Arm Mali-G615 GPU. The phone offers different RAM and storage options: 6/128GB, 8/128GB, and 8/256GB, so you can choose according to your needs.

MediaTek Dimensity 7300X

The Vivo T4x 5G comes with a massive 6500mAh battery, which is one of the largest in its class, and it seems like this is the first Vivo T series to come outside China with such a big battery. The handset also supports 44W fast charging, which can charge the phone fully in under an hour. It runs on Android 15 with Funtouch OS 15, promising a smooth software experience with two Android updates and three years of security patches.

Camera and Rest

For the rear cameras, the Vivo T4x 5G includes a 50MP primary camera and a 2MP depth sensor for portrait shots. On the front, there’s an 8MP selfie camera for clear self-portraits. Well,… not a groundbreaking setup, but it’s a good to-go option.

For connectivity, the phone supports 5G, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, GLONASS, Beidou, and a USB Type-C port. You will also get dual stereo speakers for better sound quality. AI-powered features like AI Eraser and AI Photo Enhancer are included to improve photos and offer more convenience.
