Poco confirms the use of the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset in the newest X8 Pro.

Poco is preparing to launch its new performance-driven X8 Pro by March 17, 2026. According to leaks, it's going to be a rebranded Redmi Turbo 5, with Dimensity 8500 Ultra SoC and 1.5K res AMOLED panel. In this article, I will discuss all the details of the X8 series, including its expected price in Nepal, specifications, and availability.
Poco X8 Pro Overview
Display and Design
According to rumors, Poco X8 Pro is expected to feature a 6.95-inch OLED display with 1.5K resolution. You will get support of 120Hz refresh rate for smooth scrolling. This model is also expected to have 3840Hz PWM dimming with peak brightness up to 3500 nits for eye comfort and outdoor use.

Talking about the design, Poco may use a glass front and an aluminium frame for the X8 Pro, which could result in a thickness of 8.2mm. They are also including an IP68/IP69K rating in this device. So, build-wise, this guy is pretty well sorted.
Performance and Software
Under the hood, the X8 Pro will pack the MediaTek Dimensity 8500 Ultra chipset with eight Cortex-A725 performance cores, including a prime core running at a robust 3.4GHz. Likewise, the Mali-G720 MC8 GPU will handle the graphics side here. Here, Poco will pair this guy with 12/16GB of RAM and 256/512GB internal storage. Moreover, Poco X8 is expected to run on Android 16 with HyperOS 3.

As for the optics, it will feature a 50 MP Sony IMX822 primary sensor and an 8MP ultrawide camera on the back that supports 4K recording at 60fps. Up front, there is a 20MP selfie shooter that can also record videos at 1080p 60fps.

As per rumors, this time Poco is planning to reduce the previous 7,560mAh battery capacity of its Chinese version Redmi Turbo 5, and release X8 Pro with a capacity of 6500mAh. You will also get 100W fast charging support for quick top-up with 27W reverse wired charging.
