The rest of the specs are pretty much what we expect from a laptop under Rs. 80,000 in Nepal. It has the Ryzen 5 7520U processor with integrated Radeon graphics. This is paired with 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 512GB of NVMe SSD storage. As its name suggests, the Vivobook Go 14 sports a 14-inch FHD IPS screen, so it’s also pretty portable.

If you are looking for a 2-in-1 laptop under 80,000 in Nepal, you might want to consider the HP Pavilion x360. Powered by a Core i5-1235U processor, this laptop is more than enough to handle your daily chores with Intel Iris Xe graphics, 8GB of RAM, and 512GB SSD storage.

Getting to the USP, the touchscreen display can flex all the way around at 360 degrees, providing you with comfort and convenience. It’s a 14-inch screen at 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution alongside 250nits of peak brightness and 45% NTSC color gamut support. In terms of I/O, you get 2x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, 1x USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C, 1x HDMI v2.0, and 1x 3.5mm headphone jack.

Next up, we have the Dell Vostro 15 3520 (2022). This laptop is currently up for sale for just Rs. 80,000. It is powered by 12th Gen Intel Core i5-1235U CPU, which is paired with 8GB LPDDR4 RAM and 512GB SSD. The key USP here is the MX550 graphics with 2GB VRAM which is enough for your basic Photoshop needs and light gaming – although the former might be less than ideal because of the 45% NTSC gamut. That said, you can expect much better build quality from Dell.

In terms of display, you get a 15.6-inch FHD display with a narrow border and anti-glare coating. While for the I/O, there are two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports, one USB 2.0 port, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a HDMI 1.4 port.

If you want just as good performance for a slightly better build, you can instead opt for HP’s Pavillion 15 model. Both 2022 and 2023 variants offer the same core experience with good metal/plastic hybrid builds, large FHD screens, and decent endurance with their 41Wh batteries.

You can make the choice between a faster Core i5-1335U CPU with Integrated Iris Xe graphics or a 12th Gen i5-1235U but with a dedicated MX 550 GPU. There’s also a third option with the i5-1240P chipset which will have better full-load CPU performance due to its higher number of P cores. For most folks, we would suggest the second option as the performance difference between the processors isn’t as pronounced while the dedicated graphics might come in handy more than once. That being said, there might be folks out there who would benefit more from the 10-15% CPU boost so having options is always a good thing.

Our next entry is pretty similar to the Pavilion 15 we just talked about. The Thinkbook 14 G4 IAP from Lenovo features the same Core i5 1215U + MX 550 combo but in a smaller and densely packed 14″ body. On the screen side, you get a 16:9 Full HD display powered by a 45Wh battery. The panel is an IPS one but the color coverage is just average at 45% NTSC.

There are a lot of ports including two USB-Cs, two USB-As, an HDMI, a full-sized SD card reader, a 3.5mm audio jack, and even an RJ45 ethernet port. On the wireless end, you get dual-band WiFi 5 (802.11ac 2×2), and Bluetooth 5.1. Similarly, the keyboard is backlit and you also get a fingerprint reader embedded in the power button.

But you don’t always need the most powerful laptop, maybe you are searching for a premium feeling lightweight, and portable computer under 80,000 rupees. For that very use case, the Thinkbook 13s Gen 4 with the Ryzen 5 6600U is an excellent choice.

For starters, it features a full metal build unlike other laptops we have talked about up to this point and the display is also a sharp 13.3 inch IPS with a taller 16:10 aspect ratio. Furthermore, it covers the whole sRGB color gamut and features Dolby Vision support.

With a pretty thin profile and 1.25kg, portability gets very handy here. The laptop’s keyboard comes with decent key travel and backlight. The port selection and battery life are also quite good for the price like USB-A 3.2 Gen 1, a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2, and HDMI 2.0. In addition, Lenovo offers a compact 65W Type-C charger in the box.

Finally, the Acer Swift Go 14 is our top pick in this list of best laptops for around 80,000 in Nepal. And right off the bat, this one doesn’t have a discrete GPU like most options before it. But if you’re just looking for a thin and light laptop for everyday usage with a premium design, reliable performance, a gorgeous display, and more, then there’s simply no option better than the Swift Go 14.

Thanks to its capable Ryzen 5 7530U CPU inside, everyday performance is incredibly smooth on this guy. There’s also 16GB of RAM onboard so multitasking isn’t going to be a trouble either. It also has a beautiful 14″ IPS display with excellent color accuracy (100% sRGB) and brightness levels.
