Samsung confirms Galaxy Unpacked event for July 22, 2026 with a new wide foldable expected to debut!

Samsung has officially announced that its next Galaxy Unpacked event will take place on July 22, 2026, in London, UK. The company has also released a short teaser with the tagline "A New Shape Unfolds," hinting that this year's event could introduce an entirely new foldable form factor alongside the next-generation Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip smartphones. A wider foldable could steal the spotlight

While Samsung hasn't officially revealed any devices yet, the teaser animation strongly suggests the arrival of a new wide foldable smartphone. Unlike the tall and narrow design of the current Galaxy Z Fold lineup, the silhouette shown in the invitation appears noticeably wider and shorter. 

If the rumors turn out to be accurate, Samsung could be preparing a foldable that offers a more conventional smartphone experience when closed while providing a larger display once unfolded. Such a design would also help Samsung compete more directly with newer foldable devices from Chinese manufacturers that have been experimenting with wider aspect ratios, such as Huawei Pura X Max, Vivo X Fold 6, and Oppo Find N6. 

Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Z Flip 8 are also expected

Alongside the rumored wide foldable, Samsung is widely expected to unveil the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and Galaxy Z Flip 8 at this year's Galaxy Unpacked event. Here, both devices are expected to bring a mix of design refinements, performance upgrades, and new Galaxy AI features. They are also likely to ship with the latest version of One UI based on Android. 

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 is rumored to feature a thinner and lighter design than its predecessor, along with a wider cover display that should make it more comfortable to use when folded. Samsung is also expected to improve the hinge mechanism and further reduce the visibility of the display crease, while continuing to offer a large inner screen that's ideal for multitasking, productivity, and entertainment. 

Meanwhile, the Galaxy Z Flip 8 is expected to retain its compact clamshell design while receiving upgrades to its cover display, cameras, and overall performance. Samsung has consistently positioned the Flip series as a foldable that blends style with everyday practicality, and this year's model is expected to continue that approach with refined hardware and smarter software features.
