Following the release of Tecno’s foldable phone, the Phantom V Fold, the company is now preparing to release another foldable, the Phantom V Flip 5G, a mid-range flip phone. This article explores the rumors and features surrounding the Tecno Phantom V Flip 5G’s upcoming release.

Tecno Phantom V Flip 5G Overview:

Design and Display

What makes the smartphone’s design interesting is its fresh approach to the cover display. Rather than having cameras and the display apart, Tecno has gone for a circular cover display surrounded by a camera ring.

Moving on to the phone’s external features, there’s something interesting about the outer display. It’s quite small, only 1.32 inches, but it’s colorful and clear with a resolution of 466×466 pixels. Inside the smartphone, the screen is much bigger – a whopping 6.9 inches! The screen has a resolution of 1080×2640 and a pixel density of 480 ppi, which means apps, videos, and photos will look good and clear enough.

Performance and Camera

The phone will ship with Android 13 along with 8 GB RAM and 256GB of storage. However, the SoC of the phone is mentioned to be Mediatek MT6893Z/CZA. This means that the chipset is most likely Dimensity 1300, unlike our initial assumption of Dimensity 8050. It is good for us as Dimensity 1300 is a slight upgrade over Dimensity 8050. In terms of GPU, we are getting 9x ARM Mali G77 (805 MHz).

At the rear, the device will sport a pair of dual cameras: a combination of a 64MP sensor and a 13MP sensor. As for the front, the phone is expected to house a 32MP camera.

Battery and Charging

Also, it’s worth mentioning that the Phantom V Flip 5G will have two batteries: a smaller one with 1165 mAh and a bigger one with 2735 mAh. The company will likely market them together as if they add up to a capacity of 4000 mAh.

Tecno Phantom V Flip Availability and Pricing

The Phantom V Flip 5G will come in three colors: Minimal Black, Film White, and Periwinkle Purple. A sneak peek of the device will likely be shown next month, followed by the official launch around October.
