OnePlus Nord CE5 launched in Nepal with massive 7,100mAh battery and MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Apex

OnePlus has unveiled the Nord CE5 in Nepal alongside the Nord 5 (which we have discussed in a separate article), focusing on delivering maximum battery life and solid performance for the mid-range segment. The device packs a tablet-class or just one of the largest we’ve seen in a smartphone. This article will discuss everything about the latest OnePlus Nord CE5, including its price in Nepal, specifications, and availability.

OnePlus Nord CE5 Overview

Performance and Processing Power

The Nord CE5 runs on MediaTek’s Dimensity 8350 Apex chipset, which is actually a pretty significant upgrade for the CE series. The processor features an octa-core setup with four Cortex-A715 cores running at up to 3.35GHz and four Cortex-A510 efficiency cores. Furthermore, it includes a 6-core Mali-G615 GPU that OnePlus claims offers 50% higher performance and 55% lower power consumption than the previous generation.

The device comes with LPDDR5X RAM in 8GB or 12GB configurations, with virtual RAM expansion available. For storage, you get 128GB or 256GB UFS 3.1 storage, but here’s the thing – it also supports microSD expansion up to 1TB, which is becoming rare these days.

Massive Battery and Charging

The standout feature is definitely the 7,100mAh battery. To put that in perspective, most flagship phones pack around 5,000mAh batteries. OnePlus claims you can get 27+ hours of YouTube playback or 18+ hours of Instagram browsing on a single charge. That’s pretty impressive if it holds up in real-world usage.

The phone supports 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging, which should help offset the longer charging times that come with such a large battery. Additionally, it includes Battery Health Magic for long-term battery maintenance and Bypass Charging for gaming, which draws power directly from the charger.

Display and Design

The Nord CE5 features a 6.77-inch FHD+ Super Fluid AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate. Peak brightness reaches 1,430 nits, and it supports Ultra HDR for enhanced content viewing. The display also includes Aqua Touch technology for better responsiveness with wet fingers.

Design-wise, the phone measures 163.58 x 76.02 x 8.27mm (for the Marble Mist variant) and weighs around 199g. It features IP65 water resistance and comes in three colors: Black Infinity, Marble Mist, and Nexus Blue.

Camera System

OnePlus equipped the CE5 with a 50MP main camera using Sony’s LYT-600 sensor with OIS. The sensor size is 1/1.95-inch, which is decent for this price range. Additionally, there’s an 8MP ultra-wide camera with a 112-degree field of view.

For selfies, the phone includes a 16MP front camera with fixed focus. The camera system supports 4K video recording at 60fps, which is actually quite good for a mid-range device. The phone also includes LivePhoto with Ultra HDR support for more dynamic shots.

Cooling and Gaming Performance

OnePlus included a CryoVelocity VC cooling system with a 7,041mm² vapor chamber. The company claims this enables sustained gaming performance at up to 120 FPS in titles like BGMI and Call of Duty Mobile. The large battery should also help with extended gaming sessions without frequent charging breaks.

AI Features and Software

The Nord CE5 runs OxygenOS 15.0 based on Android 15. OnePlus has integrated several AI features including AI Toolbox 2.0, which offers AI Summary, AI Translation, AI Writer, and AI Reply functions. There’s also AI VoiceScribe for recording and transcribing conversations across 20+ languages.

For creativity, the phone includes AI Detail Boost, AI Unblur, AI Reflection Eraser, and AI Eraser for photo editing. The new AI Reframe feature analyzes photos and suggests better compositions and filters.

The phone also includes Google’s latest AI features like Circle to Search and Gemini integration. Circle to Search lets you search anything on screen by drawing a circle around it, while Gemini acts as a personal AI assistant.

The Nord CE5 supports 5G connectivity with multiple bands, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, and NFC. It features dual nano-SIM support with a hybrid slot that can accommodate either two SIM cards or one SIM plus a microSD card.
