Vivo TWS 5 series goes official with up to 60dB ANC!

Vivo just unveiled its TWS 5 series of budget wireless earbuds in China alongside the X300 series, Watch GT 2, and Pad 5e. And for a couple of budget wireless earbuds, Vivo has packed some super interesting features into them. Including up to 60dB ANC and even Lossless audio in the Hi-Fi version. Now, let’s dive into this article, where I will discuss everything about the latest Vivo TWS 5 series, including its expected price in Nepal, specifications, and availability.

Vivo TWS 5 Series Overview

Design and Build

Like most true wireless earbuds, the TWS 5 series appears to be compact and built for long-wearing comfort. You get earbuds sized 22.1 × 23.6 × 30.3 mm, each weighing around 4.8 gm. The charging case measures 60 × 46 × 23.8 mm and brings the total weight to about 41 gm.

Both models carry an IP54 rating, making them dust and splash-resistant. Since the TWS 5 comes in two models, the color options vary depending on the model, too. The standard version comes in “Simple White”, “Pure Black”, and “Smokey Purple” finishes, while the Hi-Fi version comes in “Deep Sea Blue” and “White” options.

Audio and ANC

Vivo TWS 5 series comes with 11mm dynamic drivers with a second-generation ceramic tungsten diaphragm. And while the regular TWS 5 supports AAC, SBC, LC3, and LDAC codecs, the Hi-Fi model adds LHDC 5.0 for CD-quality 16-bit / 48 kHz playback. Both models offer DeepX 4.0 stereo sound, adaptive and customizable EQ, and spatial audio.

As I mentioned in the headline, another highlight of these budget TWS earbuds is Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). The TWS 5 duo brings a 4-mic setup that can reportedly offer up to 60dB of noise reduction with 5,500Hz ultra-wideband support.

But of course, the actual performance absolutely depends on ear shape and fit, so you should take all this with a grain of salt. Additionally, three out of those four microphones handle AI-powered noise reduction during phone calls.

Connectivity and Controls

For connectivity, the TWS 5 packs Bluetooth 5.4. What’s interesting is that Vivo says you can even connect these earbuds to three devices at once! You also get touch controls, which can handle music playback, calls, and AI features. The earbuds also integrate with BlueOS for pop-up themes, remote photography, AI broadcast, voice control, and headphone search.

Battery and Charging

You get up to 6 hours of playtime with ANC on and 12 hours with ANC off. That being said, the charging case extends total playtime to 24 hours (ANC on) or 48 hours (ANC off).

Gaming and Smart Features

Other than this, the Vivo TWS 5 series supports 42ms low-latency, and they also come with AI and smart features. You get real-time translation in multiple languages, including Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean, French, and Thai. Other than that, you also get typical features like Adaptive EQ, which adjusts sound quality based on your hearing profile.

Vivo TWS 5 Series Price in Nepal and Availability

The standard Vivo TWS 5 costs CNY 399 (~USD 56 / INR 4,999) in China, while the Hi-Fi version goes for CNY 499 (~USD 70 / INR 6,229). If it ever makes it to Nepal, we expect the price of the Vivo TWS 5 and TWS 5 Hi-Fi to be NPR 9,499 and NPR 11,999, respectively.
