OPPO unveiled the Pad 5 tablet in China alongside the Find X9 series and Watch S smartwatch, positioning it as a high-end Android tablet for productivity and multimedia. The Pad 5 packs the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+, paired with Immortalis G925 MC12 GPU. This is an excellent last year’s chipset that’s capable of handling everything you’d throw at it in 2025. But if you’re comparing it to the absolute latest flagship chips from other companies and think it’s lacking, you’ll have to wait for the Pad 5 Pro. That one will likely feature the more recent Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 or Dimensity 9500. Other than that, the chipset is paired with memory of up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB UFS 4.1 storage.
The Pad 5 runs Android 15 with ColorOS 16 optimized for tablets. OPPO hasn’t specified update commitments yet, but given the Find X9 series got 5 OS updates and 6 years of security patches, we might see similar support here.
