OnePlus has started teasing two new products for its upcoming launch: the OnePlus 15R smartphone and an unnamed smartwatch that’s simply being called “New Watch” for now. The OnePlus 15R appears to be based on the OnePlus Ace 6 that launched in China. OnePlus typically rebrands its Ace series phones for international markets as R-series devices, so this isn’t surprising. Now, let’s get into the details, where I will discuss everything about the latest OnePlus 15R and the new smartwatch, including their rumoured specifications and availability.
OnePlus 15R Overview
Display and Performance
The 15R will apparently feature a slightly larger display than the 13R, though OnePlus hasn’t confirmed the exact size yet. Obviously, it will be a premium AMOLED display with a high brightness rate and everyone could get from a semi-flagship smartphone, but let’s see what exact features it will hold. Anyway, the real upgrade here is the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, which is Qualcomm’s latest flagship processor. But this follows an expected pattern of including last year’s flagship chipset inside the R series. And of course, the 8 Elite is a power chipset; insofar as I would argue that only 1 in a hundred or a couple of hundred people will be able to notice any meaningful difference between the 8 Elite and 8 Elite Gen 5.
Battery and Charging
Following the hype on big batteries, you’ll get a massive 7800mAh battery, which is substantially larger than what most flagships offer (see Galaxy, Pixel or iPhones), and quite larger than the OnePlus 15 itself. And alongside that big of a battery, OnePlus is also including 120W fast charging support.
Camera
The most disappointing thing to come out of this teaser is likely the camera. The OnePlus 15R is losing the telephoto camera that was present on the 13R. You’ll likely get just two cameras on the back this year instead of three. Some have even speculated that OnePlus may add better cameras to compensate for losing the telephoto lens, but there’s no evidence suggesting they’re doing this. In fact, there’s a general trend showing that OnePlus seems to be shipping worse camera hardware in the 15 series compared to the 13R.

OnePlus Smartwatch
But other than the semi flagship, OnePlus also teased a new smartwatch on its European websites, but they’re being extremely secretive about it. The watch is shown only as an outline with no specs, no details, and no official name. They’re literally just calling it “New Watch” in the teasers.
OnePlus 15R Rumors and Availability
OnePlus hasn’t announced an official launch date yet, but the teasers suggest an announcement is coming soon. Both the OnePlus 15R and the new smartwatch are expected to launch simultaneously.
