The Black Shark 5 Pro is now available for pre-order in China. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 powered phone is the most powerful in the new Black Shark 5 lineup. In this article, we will be discussing the specs, features, expected price, and availability of the Black Shark 5 Pro in Nepal.

Design And Display

The Black Shark 5 Pro is a chunky boy with a thickness of 9.5mm. On top of that, the phone weighs 220g. That is how you know the phone is packing some serious hardware. Black Shark has given the phone a completely new makeover, compared to last year’s Black Shark 4 Pro. The new handset features a futuristic-looking back with Evangelion/Cyberpunk-styled graphics.

The side rail features two magnetic shoulder buttons that activate with a physical switch. The volume rocker lies on the left, whereas the power button rests on the right. Moreover, the camera bump aligns with the new design aesthetic, and Black Shark has added a wonderful touch with the screw-like flash module.

The top-of-line 6.67-inch OLED display is an eye candy to look at with its buttery smooth 144Hz refresh rate. Additionally, the 10-bit panel has a contrast ratio of 5000000:1 and supports HDR10+ for immersive content viewing.

Performance And Memory

Black Shark 5 Pro features two vapor chambers to cool the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip. The massive cooling chambers cover an area of 5320mm² (one on each side, 4,323mm² + 997mm²). Cooling should be no issue during those intense gaming hours with such a setup.

Coming to the memory, the Black Shark 5 Pro comes with 8GB, 16GB, or 16GB of fast LPDDR5 RAM. Xiaomi has introduced a split storage system in the Black Shark 5 Pro. Here, the storage is split equally between an NVMe SSD and a UFS 3.1 storage.

Xiaomi’s usage of the DM Cache technology has allowed them to significantly boost the read and write speed on these new Black Shark devices. Moreover, the 6400Mbps LPDDR5 RAMs can create a RAM disk for even faster transfers.

Moving on, the cameras on the Black Shark 5 Pro are an upgrade over its predecessor. The primary rear camera is a 108MP f/1.8 sensor. On top of that, the 13 MP f/2.4 ultrawide sensor can take pictures at a 120˚ FOV. The final camera in the triple camera array is a 5MP macro sensor with an f/2.4 aperture.

On the front, a single 16MP selfie shooter can be found plopped into the center hole-punch notch.

Finally, the 4,650 mAh high-performance battery on the Black Shark 5 Pro supports 120W fast charging. The battery goes from 0 to 100 in just 15 minutes in its full glory. But, it takes the battery 24 minutes to juice up entirely in the temperature-controlled mode. Moreover, there is a feature to bypass the battery while plugged into the wall.

Audio

The Black Shark 5 Pro dominates DxOMark’s audio chart with 86 points. The phone has two speakers with 1.5cc cavities and 4 microphones, one for each side. The X-axis linear motor further improves the gaming experience with good haptic feedback.

There is no hint of a global launch. If it launches here, we expect the price of Black Shark 5 Pro in Nepal to start at NPR 92,500.
