Samsung and Google both are multi-billion conglomerates, ruling over the tech world. And these giants have tied up for developing the Eclipsa Auidio, a 3D audio technology. Samsung is claiming immersive audio content and seamless playback on Samsung TVs.

Additionally, the two companies are collaborating with the Telecommunications Technology Association to create a certification program that guarantees consistent quality across devices utilizing the technology.
Open Standard
The key forte of Eclipsa Audio is that it’s open standard. So, hardware makers don’t have to pay licensing fees, unlike Dolby Atmos which requires so. Samsung claims that Eclipsa Audio performs very similar to Atmos through location, intensity, and spatial reflection adjustments in order to produce 3D sound.

As Samsung is the developer alongside Google, it will definitely be the first one to adapt it. The 2025 lineup of Samsung TVs including the Crystal UHD series to the premium flagship Neo QLED 8K TVs will get this newly developed royalty-free audio standard.
Also, creators will be able to upload videos with Eclipsa Audio tracks to YouTube as well. So, 2025 Samsung devices will be capable of taking benefits of the premium spatial audio when available.
