Lenovo entered the handheld gaming console arena with the “Legion Go”. This Windows handheld gaming console features unique capabilities like detachable controllers. With this, the Legion Go joins competitors such as the Asus ROG Ally, Steam Deck, and more. And this gaming gear is finally officially available in Nepal. In this article, we will discuss the Lenovo Legion Go and its features, specifications, availability, and official price in Nepal.

Lenovo Legion Go Overview:

Design and Display: Inspired by the Nintendo Switch

The Lenovo Legion Go introduces an 8.8-inch QHD+ IPS LCD panel. The panel supports a 144Hz refresh rate, 500 nits of peak brightness, and a 97% DCI-P3 color gamut. Featuring a 16:10 aspect ratio and a 10-point touch screen, this “Lenovo PureSight Gaming Display” delivers intuitive controls. And it’s pretty easy to see that Lenovo was inspired by Nintendo Switch‘s design here.

In terms of physical characteristics, the Lenovo Legion Go stands out due to its bulkier and heavier build compared to modern handhelds, weighing 854 grams with the controller. Or 640 grams without. It features extra keys on the back and side, a scroll wheel, two mouse buttons, and an “FPS” button. The Legion Go is available in the Shadow Black color option.

Performance and Memory

Powering this handheld is an AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme processor (the same one you’d find on the ROG Ally). It is offered with up to 16GB LPDDR5X (7500 Mhz) RAM, up to 1TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe M.2 2242 SSD storage, and includes a micro SD slot for expanding storage capacity. Likewise, the device runs on Windows 11 while Lenovo says this handheld can reach a peak of 25W of TGP in custom mode.

Cooling mechanism

I/O and Connectivity

Moving on, the Lenovo Legion Go comes with detachable “TrueStrike” controllers, providing flexibility for different playstyles. It also has dual USB Type-C ports, allowing to charge the device and connect accessories simultaneously. These ports support DisplayPort 1.4 and Power Delivery 3.0.

Other than this, it has a six-axis gyroscope, a couple of 2-watt speakers, an integrated trackpad, a large D-pad, an angled mouse wheel, and a total of 10 mappable shoulder buttons, triggers, and grip buttons. Furthermore, the back of the device features a built-in kickstand too.

Battery and Charging

Powering the console is a 49.2 Wh battery that supports 65W charging. Additionally, the Lenovo Legion Go includes Super Rapid Charge technology, allowing the battery to quickly reach a 70% charge in just 30 minutes. Each controller is equipped with a 900 mAh capacity.

There’s also a power bypass mode that safeguards the battery from unnecessary wear and tear while simultaneously reducing the typical heat generated during operation.

Legion Space

Moving on, the Legion Go features a custom “Legion Space” hub that lets users access all their installed games in one place. You can also go through game platforms and stores or purchase new ones via the Legion Game Store in partnership with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate. Other than this, the Legion Space is where you can adjust settings like resolution, refresh rate, brightness, and more.
