Motorola took the stage in China in August to introduce its latest clamshell phone, the Razr 2022. A Makeover
The new Razr 2022 brings a significant redesign for the foldable. Unlike its predecessor, the company has ditched the enormous chin of the primary display to accommodate larger screen real estate.
You’re now looking at a 6.7-inch canvas, up from 6.2-inch on the original Razr and Razr 5G. And since this is a flagship phone, Motorola has included all the bells and whistles on the screen.
It’s a Full HD+ resolution OLED display with 10-bit color depth and HDR 10+ certification. Plus with a 144Hz refresh rate, it also has the fastest refreshing screen of any clamshell folding phone.

Moving on, compared to the measly 1.9-inch screen on the Z Flip 4, the Razr 2022 flaunts a large 2.7-inch cover display. No prizes for guessing that this is an AMOLED panel and boasts a resolution of 800x 573 pixels.
The cover screen lets you swipe between nine different widget panels, including weather, fitness goals, a camera, and more. You may also reply to text messages from this screen, saving you from the hassle of entering the main screen repeatedly.
Motorola has also redesigned the hinge mechanism in order to provide a gapless folding design. The Razr 2022 employs the company’s third-generation water-drop style folding mechanism, which aids in achieving a creaseless display.
Performance
Powering the device is a flagship SoC for 2022, the Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset. That is a significant improvement over the Snapdragon 765G of the original Motorola Razr.
