We were expecting one of the best flagship earbuds, the OnePlus Buds Pro 2 to receive an upgrade very soon. We already had some intel on what the improvements are, alongside the first look. Now, the buds end up in the BIS listing in India with model number E509. In this article, we will be discussing all the rumors regarding the OnePlus Buds 3. Let’s GO!
OnePlus Buds 3: Rumors Round-Up
Thanks to @OnLeaks, we have the upcoming OnePlus Buds’ renders and some of their expected specifications. As per the leaker, this render is based on a testing phase unit, and the final product may see changes.
Moreover, it appears that OnePlus is ditching the “Pro” branding altogether with these buds. Either they rebranded the series or the company is bringing better buds with the Pro label.
Design
Design-wise, the new TWS hasn’t seen many changes since its predecessor. One noticeable difference is that they have completely ditched the metallic finish at the bottom of the stem. As per the leak, the buds will see a slice of 0.13 grams in weight, compared to the 4.90 grams of the Buds Pro 2.
Furthermore, the new OnePlus Buds 3 will feature an IP55 rating for the buds and an IPX4 rating for the case, similar to the last gen.

Audio and features
The OnePlus Buds 3 is said to feature a 10.40 mm dynamic driver and a 6 mm planar diaphragm driver. Even though it is a slight drop in size from its predecessor, software optimization should allow it to preserve a similar audio quality. Additionally, ANC might be getting an upgrade, as the rumors mention 48 dB of noise cancellation instead of 45 dB from Buds 2 Pro.
In the meantime, the new earbuds will also feature a triple-microphone setup for call noise cancellation. As per the leak, the Buds 3 from OnePlus will feature Bluetooth v5.3, Google Fast Pair, and dual connections.
Battery
On the other hand, the earbuds’ battery seems to have dropped to 58 mAh from the previous 60 mAh. Despite the drop in capacity, the playback time seems to be pretty on par with the Buds Pro 2. Nonetheless, it will get a nerf to the overall playback time even though the battery in the case has the same capacity, if we go with the leaks.
OnePlus Buds Pro 3 Launch and Availability
Even though the renders and initial specifications are out, we have yet to hear anything from OnePlus themselves. As I have said before, the OnePlus Buds Pro 3 might see some changes before it fully launches. Finally, sources are expecting it to be released alongside the OnePlus 12 and 12R in January 2024.
