The “Nord” series of phones is OnePlus’ midrange offering that comes with an attractive set of specs at an affordable price. The company launched Nord 3 last year and we should be getting the “Nord 4” this year. But, hey! What we know of the OnePlus Nord 5 comes from the Digital Chat Station and Shishir over on Weibo and Twitter respectively. So, thanks to them, and now let’s get into the details of the OnePlus Nord 5.
Design and Display
Starting with the design, the phone will continue to have a plastic middle frame coupled with a glass back. On the front, the phone is expected to have extremely thin bezels to meet the 2024 standards. Moreover, Silver will be one of the colours the phone will ship in.
Other than that, in terms of screen, the OnePlus Nord 5 will come with a 6.74-inch OLED panel that stretches 1.5K in resolution while offering 120Hz in refresh rate. The leakers mention that the screen will not be an 8T LTPO screen like we saw on the OnePlus 12, and 12R.

Performance and Battery
The OnePlus Nord 5 is expected to pack the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chipset under the hood for its performance. Talking of this processor, it is currently under work in Qualcomm headquarters.
However, from what we have heard about it so far, the chipset will follow the same architecture as the top-of-the-line Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. If that turns out to be true, then the chip will surely be the most powerful midrange chipset there is! Additional rumoured hardware includes 16GB of memory coupled with a 5,500 mAh battery.
OnePlus Nord 5 Launch and Availability
Pinpointing at what date the upcoming Nord phone will launch is next to impossible. However, if history is an indicator of the future then the OnePlus Nord 5 should go live in July 2024. This is because the OG Nord, the Nord 2, as well as the Nord 3 were unveiled in July. So, based on the same logic the price should also land between USD 500–600.
But since OnePlus is defying trends with the naming scheme then we can expect them to do so with the release and price as well.
