The design of the Pova 6 Neo 5G looks nowhere similar to its predecessor. While the Pova 6 Neo has a larger, rectangular camera module the 5G version comes with a circular module. Motorola is no new name in the foldable phone market. The brand unveiled the 2023 flip iterations: the Razr 40 and Razr 40 Ultra a few months ago and the latter one is launching soon in Nepal too. And in this article, we’ll be going through all the details, specs, and expected prices of the Motorola Razr 40 Ultra in Nepal.

Design

Going by the design, the Razr 40 Ultra bears the same form factor as its younger sibling, the Razr 40. Like all the other clamshell foldables, the back of this phone is also divided into two portions. The lower half is made of matte velvet AG (anti-glare) glass and has both the Motorola and Razr logos.

Motorola says it has managed to reduce the hinge components to 85 parts here, which allows this phone to be used in tent mode as well as in multiple angles. The Realme Buds N1 comes in an in-ear fitting with IP55 dust and water resistance. The earbuds have a stem with a touch sensor on the upper end. The charging case is an AirPods-like slim and squircle unit. However, unlike the Apple offering, it comes in an Energising Green colour option.

For audio, it has 12.40mm dynamic drivers, N52 magnets, and an HTW wire coil. Last month, Tecno released its first teasers for the upcoming smartphones. Huawei has officially introduced the world’s first-ever tri-foldable smartphone as a ‘quasi-response’ to iPhone’s latest flagship series. Despite being faced with sanctions all over, the Chinese company is now on the redemption arc – making headlines everywhere with over 2.5 million pre-orders from their official website. In this article, we’ll discuss everything about the latest Huawei Mate XT, including its expected price in Nepal, specifications, and features.

Huawei Mate XT Overview

Display and Design

The Huawei Mate XT features three screen modes. When folded once, it provides a 6.4-inch display with a resolution of 2232 x 1008 pixels. Unfolding it further creates a 7.9-inch dual screen at 2232 x 2048 pixels. When fully unfolded, the device transforms into a 10.2-inch display with a 2232 x 3184 resolution.

Additionally, the phone uses an OLED LTPO panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz touch sampling rate. It also offers 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, designed to reduce flickering.

Performance and Battery

The Mate XT is powered by Huawei’s Kirin 9-series chip, paired with 16GB of RAM. Storage options range from 256GB to 1TB.

In addition, the phone comes with a 5,600mAh battery. It supports 66W wired charging and 50W wireless charging, allowing for quick recharges.

Camera and Features

The device features a rear triple camera setup. This includes a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and a variable aperture (f/1.4~f/4.0), a 12MP ultra-wide lens, and a 12MP periscope telephoto lens with OIS. On the front, there is an 8MP camera for selfies.

Furthermore, the phone includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, NFC, Bluetooth 5.2, and a USB-C (3.1 Gen1) port. It also supports dual SIM, and Wi-Fi, and comes equipped with an IR blaster.

The Huawei Mate XT is priced at 19,999 CNY for the base variant with 16GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The phone is available in Ruihong and Dark Black colors. This smartphone might never make it here, but if any case, we expect it to cost no less than NPR 420,000.

HMD Fusion arrives with replaceable and customisable back covers

After launching a one-of-a-kind collab phone with Mattel, HMD is back on track with their “regular” repairable phones. Their latest offering takes a page from CMF Phone 1‘s book, allowing users to replace the back panel with first-party “Fusion outfits” or go a little custom even. Anyway, this article will discuss the HMD Fusion in further detail along with its price in Nepal.

HMD Fusion Overview

Design and Outfits

As I mentioned earlier, the HMD Fusion comes with replaceable backs similar to the CMF Phone 1. However, unlike the CMF offering, users don’t have to screw down the back panel every time they change it. They can simply snap into place — thanks to the Smart Pin which sits near the the phone’s bottom edge. HMD Fusion comes in Black with an exposed back and a visible battery pack by default. Despite its open nature, it is still IP54-rated — able to shrug off specs of dust and splashes of water with no issue.

HMD offers four “Fusion Outfits” (replaceable covers). Firstly, there is the casual outfit which is a basic translucent cover that comes in Blue, Magenta, and Green colours. Then there is a wireless charging outfit which does exactly what it sounds like, available in Turquoise, Black, and Magenta. Next up, they have the rugged outfit that comes in a single black colour option and gives the phone extra protection against drops and such. Lastly, there is the flashy outfit which will ship in Blue and Magenta colourings and is basically a ring light built into the phone cover. If any of those options don’t resonate with you, then you can 3D print a custom Smart Outfit using the HMD Fusion Development Toolkit V2.0.

Technical Aspects

Moving on to the phone’s hardware, it has the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 on the driver’s seat. It is accompanied by either 6GB or 8GB of memory coupled with 128GB or 256GB storage. Furthermore, HMD Fusion allows you to extend the memory and storage of the phone by up to 12GB virtually and up to 1TB via MicroSD card respectively.

On the front, it has a 6.56-inch LCD panel with HD+ resolution. Additionally, it can go as bright as 600 nits and offers a smooth 90Hz refresh rate. Talking of the cameras, it has two on the back. The primary shooter is a 108MP unit with autofocus and EIS. It is assisted by a measly 2MP depth sensor. In the meantime, HMD Fusion has dedicated a 50MP camera for the selfies. Everything is powered by a 5,000 mAh battery with 33W charging support.

In a true HMD fashion, this phone features Gen2 repairability allowing you to easily swap out the display, back cover, battery, and charging port when needed. This separates the HMD Fusion from CMF Phone 1 because, unlike the HMD, CMF does not allow manual repair of its phone to the users. Also, the Finnish company will be providing spare parts on iFixit for the coming seven years.

HMD Fusion Price in Nepal and Availability

The phone was announced on 5 September 2024 with a starting price tag of EUR 249. Similarly, it will cost GBP 199, at least for the British chaps. Meanwhile, their cross-Atlantic neighbours will only receive the phone after some time. While there’s that, we Nepali folks will not get this phone in our hands, as the brand is simply non-existent in our country. However, if the HMD Fusion did arrive in Nepal by some miracle, we expect its price to start at NPR 44,499.
