In the last couple of months, Qualcomm has unveiled new offerings in its high-end, midrange, and budget segment. Now the American foundry has introduced its latest entry-level processor as well. In this article, we will take a look at the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 in further detail.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 Overview
Qualcomm reserves “s” branding for a lower-powered chipset, and this one is exactly that. Similar to how the 8s Gen 3 is a water-down of the 8 Gen 3, this processor serves a similar role to the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2.
Internals
The architecture of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 is the same as its standard model. Given that, it comes in the same 4nm fabrication with two Cortex-A78 and six Cortex-A55 cores. However, these cores sit at a lower peak frequency of 2.0GHz and 1.8GHz respectively. In comparison, the cores of the Snapdragon 4 Gen 2 can go up to 2.2GHz and 2.0GHz.
Likewise, the graphics are obviously handled by Adreno GPU. However, Qualcomm shies away from mentioning exactly which one. It will be some time before we can pin that out. Unsurprisingly, there is no NPU for AI processing as it is an entry-level processor.
The hardware support on this chipset has taken a dip as well. It only supports LPDDR4x 2,133MHz RAM while the 4 Gen 2 can work with LPDDR5x 3,200 MHz unit. The display support is capped at FHD+ 90Hz while the camera can only be up to 84MP with no stabilisation of any sort. One of the most significant hits the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 has taken is in the modem. This processor can reach an uplink speed of only 1Gbps which is 2.5 times less than the regular variant.
While it mostly cuts down on the capabilities, certain things remain unchanged. The storage and ISP are still the UFS 3.1 (2-lane) and dual 12-bit. You continue to get WiFi 5 and Bluetooth v5.1 support. Similarly, the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 still supports USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-C and Quick Charge 4+ charging. The latter can help your device reach up to 50% charge in just 15 minutes.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 Availability
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 was announced on 30 July 2024 at a launch event held in India. It will be powering entry-level devices with prices starting at a few thousand Indian Rupees. This chipset will likely make its first appearance in a Xiaomi device later this year.

So far, the Tecno Camon 30 series included 4G and 5G variants of the base model, a Pro model, and a Premier version with a knack for imaging. Now the company has added another member to the series, and this one is equally eye-catching. Let’s discuss more on the Tecno Camon 30S Pro in this article.
Tecno Camon 30S Pro Overview
MediaTek Helio G100
This phone is the first in the world to feature the MediaTek Helio G100 chipset. Not much information about the processor is available currently. Tecno mentions that it is a 6nm chipset with a 7% performance boost in CPU. However, they do not mention with which chipset the comparison was made with. It is likely the MediaTek Helio G99, which would put its peak clock speed at 2.35 GHz.
Apart from the processor, the Tecno Camon 30S Pro comes with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. It allows you to double the memory virtually achieving a combined RAM of 16GB. In the meantime, the expandability of the storage is unclear. The phone boots on Android 14 with its custom HIOS skin on top.
Design and Display
In terms of design, the Tecno Camon 30S Pro has a similar blueprint to its other series members. But, it looks a bit too similar to the OnePlus 12 with the large circular camera dial aligned near the phone’s edge. The dial is then surrounded by texts related to a camera like the sensor name and size, megapixels, focal length, and so on. Moving on, the Interstellar Grey and Shim Silver Green options have circular patterns going all across the back panel. Meanwhile, the Pearl Gold option has a leather finish. The phone is also IP53 water and dust-resistant with Aqua Touch support allowing for smoother navigation even when the screen or hands are wet.
On the front, you are looking at a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution. The screen also supports a high refresh rate and PWM dimming of 120Hz and 2,160Hz respectively. Moreover, the Tecno Camon 30S Pro screen can reach a peak brightness of 1,300 nits with a full DCI-P3 colour gamut.
Similar to its Premier counterpart, the Tecno Camon 30S Pro leans heavily on its imaging capability. This phone also comes with a Sony sensor, specifically the IMX896 with an area of 1/1.56 inches. Furthermore, it scales to 50MP in resolution, but Tecno also mentions 100MP ultra-clear mode on its product page. We will have to wait and see what that is about. The rear camera setup is complete with a 2MP depth sensor and a light sensor.
The phone packs another 50MP shooter on the front, capable of autofocus eye-tracking selfies. Tecno also mentions built-in front dual-flash comprising of physical lighting coupled with algorithmic Super Flash Light. Since the Tecno Camon 30S Pro has a hole-punch cutout up front, the physical lighting is likely achieved with screen brightening where the phone does some processing afterwards to give images a more natural look. The whole camera setup is complete with Tecno’s Universal Tone introduced back during the Future Lens event, and some AI magic like the AIGC Portrait and AI Eraser.
Battery and the rest
In the tank, the phone packs a 5,000 mAh battery with 45W wired and 20W wireless charging support. You can also toggle between the three different charging styles based on your needs. The Tecno Camon 30S Pro comes with a magnetic charging case that lets you snap the wireless charger in place. This is pretty much like Apple’s MagSafe technology but on a budget.
Apart from that, Tecno offers some other nifty features as well. Like, it utilises Carrier Aggregation 2.0 technology on the Camon 30S Pro. With this, the phone offers 4.5G cellular connectivity that can reach a downlink speed of up to 300Mbps. Additionally, it is also equipped with an IR blaster that allows it to control 15 different types of devices ranging from Robo Vacuum Cleaners to DVD players.
Tecno Camon 30S Pro Specifications
Design: Leather or circular patterned finish on the back, IP53-rated
Battery: 5,000 mAh with 45W wired and 20W wireless charging
Connectivity: 4.5G cellular, WiFi, Bluetooth, NFC, USB Type-C
Colour Options: Interstellar Grey, Pearl Gold, Shim Silver Green
Tecno Camon 30S Pro Price in Nepal and Availability
While the company did list the phone on its website, no announcement about the official launch or the price has been made. Hence, it will be some time before we can put a number on what price the Tecno Camon 30S Pro might launch in Nepal. We will make sure to update this article as soon as more information is available.

While Xiaomi is churning its gears for the 15 Pro, which is apparently due in October. A recent report from Gizmochina suggests that the company is working on another product as well. And it’s a smartwatch… for kids! Well, let’s take a look at this Xiaomi Mi Kids Smartwatch 7C and all that we know of it in this article.
Xiaomi Mi Kids Smartwatch 7C Overview
Certifications
The aforementioned source spotted the kid’s smartwatch in their IMEI database which carries the model number “MTSB28XUN”. Other than that, the finding reveals that the watch will have the market name “Mi Kids Smartwatch 7C”.
In the same listing, we can see “mitu” as well, which could also be (a part of) the official naming.
It’s not the first
As the watch’s name would have you guess, it is not the first kids’ smartwatch from Xiaomi. It will likely be the successor to the Mitu Children’s Phone Watch 6C which you can find on AliExpress for about USD 155.
The core design of the smartwatch will likely remain unchanged. We can expect Xiaomi to toss around with the colours. The camera, microphone, speakers, GPS, NFC, and teaching apps all are essential to the Xiaomi Mi Kids Smartwatch 7C, so we can expect it to retain them.
Mitu Children’s Phone Watch 6C
On the other hand, the bezels on this thing will hopefully go thinner with a bump in screen quality. Likewise, the storage and battery will likely see an upgrade from the 4GB and 950mAh on the previous iteration. The smartwatch has had cellular connectivity but it has always been through a physical SIM slot. Maybe this time around Xiaomi will decide to throw in an eSIM instead, which will help add to the ingress and water resistance of the watch too.
Xiaomi Mi Kids Smartwatch 7C Launch and Availability
The watch was only recently discovered in the IMEI database, which is barely an indicator of its release. Sometimes a product launches in mere weeks after it has been spotted. At other times, it might take many months for the product to finally hit the market.
All in all, all we can say is Xiaomi Mi Kids Smartwatch 7C is in the works and will be available for purchase hopefully within the course of the next few months.

The Realme 12 Pro Series made some waves by bringing telephoto sensors at a midrange price. And we have the freshly launched successors here: the Realme 13 Pro and Realme 13 Pro Plus. This article will focus on the Realme 13 Pro, its specs, features, and expected price in Nepal.
Realme 13 Pro Overview
Design and Display
Realme is sticking with its design language from the 12 series. The Realme 13 Pro and Realme 13 Pro Plus feature a familiar circular camera ring with a watch-like bezel around it. But the bougie strip down the middle is gone and there’s a new ‘HyperImage+’ label at the bottom of the camera housing.
Display-wise, the Realme 13 Pro houses a 6.7-inch AMOLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and FHD+ resolution. Other attributes include 240/2000Hz touch sampling rate, 100% P3 color gamut, and 10-bit color gamut.
Camera and AI
A major highlight of Realme’s 13 Pro series is its cameras. The main camera here is a 50MP Sony LYT-600 sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and OIS. It is complemented by an 8MP ultrawide shooter. Yeah, there is no telephoto sensor this time! That’s a surprising downgrade from the 2x portrait shooter Realme 12 Pro Plus with its dedicated lens. You can still shoot portraits at 2x, but it’s just going to be a cropped-in picture from the primary sensor. And then, there is a 2MP macro unit.
For selfies and video calls, Realme has provided a Sony 32MP shooter with a f/2.45 aperture. In terms of videography, it can shoot up to 4K 30fps.
And some AI features
And….the company has not forgotten to mention its use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for photography, that’s for sure. From ‘AI Ultra Clarity’ to ‘AI Smart Removal’ and ‘AI Group Photo Enhancement’ to ‘AI Audio Zoom’, there’s AI everywhere in the promotional materials but how it’ll affect the actual camera experience is a tale yet to be told.
Chipset and Battery
Under the hood, we have Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 2 processor running the core which is also the same as the Pro Plus version. This 5G silicon features an octa-core processor with four Cortex-A78 cores at 2.4GHz and four Cortex-A55 cores at 1.95GHz frequency. It’s a slight upgrade over the Realme 12’s Snapdragon 6 Gen 1. Moreover, on the graphics side, there is an Adreno 710 GPU.
Realme has paired the chip with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. Likewise, the phone bots on realme UI 5.0 built on top of Android 14.
Fueling the Realme 13 Pro is a 5200 mAh battery with 45W fast charging support. The connectivity side includes 5G, VoNR, WiFi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, NFC, and a USB Type-C port. Lastly, you get an optical under-screen fingerprint sensor for biometrics security.

Realme launched the successor to its T300 earbuds and they come with some incremental updates. In this article, we will discuss the Realme Buds T310 in further detail while also guessing what its price in Nepal might be.
Realme Buds T310 Overview
Design and Audio
As I mentioned earlier, the Realme Buds T310 is a successor to the T300. As such, the overall design of these earbuds remains the same. This means they come in an in-ear fit with IP55 water resistance. You get an additional Monet Purple shade on top of the two pre-existing Black, and White colour options.
The audio driver on these things remains unchanged too. They pack the same 12.4mm dynamic bass drivers along with titanised diaphragm, N52 magnets, and HTW wire coil. The Realme Buds 310 continues to offer 360° spatial audio effect. Meanwhile, the noise cancellation on this thing has gone better at 46dB. Now, you can also toggle between three levels of noise cancellation. The number of mics employed for ENC during calls has also gone up to six from the quad-setup on the last-gen.

Despite the increase in battery capacity, the company continues to market a combined playtime of 40 hours. However, the individual playback of the buds has gone up by an hour, thanks to the larger cell it packs.
