Acer joins the Copilot+ PC hype and launches Swift 14 AI

The market has been flooded with Qualcomm Snapdragon X-powered laptops with the “Copilot+ PC” tag in recent days. It is only natural for Acer to join in the hype too. In this article, we will discuss the newly launched Acer Swift 14 AI in further detail including its expected price in Nepal.

Acer Swift 14 AI Overview

Design and Display

The latest Acer offering comes in a sleek design with an aluminium chassis and a hinge with 180° movement. It features an edge-to-edge glass cover over the panel giving a seamless experience. Similarly, the Acer Swift 14 AI has an activity indicator baked into its trackpad. Meanwhile, the laptop has a fingerprint sensor on its power button for added security. It ships in light and dark grey colour options.

On the front, you get a 14.5-inch screen with an IPS LCD panel on the Acer Swift 14 AI. It stretches WQXGA in resolution and is smooth with a 120Hz refresh rate. Additionally, the screen is also decently vibrant with a 100% sRGB colour gamut. In the meantime, this laptop can be configured with a touchscreen option as well.

Performance

Moving on to the performance side of things, the Acer Swift 14 AI comes with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon X processors. You get to choose from two CPU options i.e. the Snapdragon X Elite X1E-78-100 and the Snapdragon X Plus X1P-64-100. The former is the more powerful one between the two. However, both these processors are well-equipped with AI capabilities. The laptop comes with a dedicated Copilot button and features like Recall, Live Captions, Windows Studio Effects, in-device generative AI called Cocreator, and so on.

Other than that, it packs a memory of up to 32GB capacity split into two channels. Moreover, the RAM here is an LPDDR5X unit with an 8,533 MHz frequency. Likewise, the storage on the Acer Swift 14 AI is handled by an NVMe PCIe Gen 4 SSD with 1TB capacity. On the software front, the laptop boots on Windows 11 specifically designed for devices running on processors with ARM64 architecture.

Battery and the rest

In the tank, this laptop packs a 75Wh battery with fast-charging support. Acer does not mention anything about the charger that Swift 14 AI ships with inside the box. Additionally, the wireless connectivity on this laptop is solid as well with the latest WiFi 7 and Bluetooth v5.4 support. Meanwhile, the port options include two USB4, two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A, and a combo headphone jack.

Infinix GT Book launched in India with up to an RTX 4060!

Infinix, a brand mostly known for its budget smartphones, has previously dabbled in gaming as well as the laptop space. But they hadn’t combined the two to launch a gaming laptop yet. That’s changed with the Infinix GT Book which recently launched in India with options for up to a RTX 4060 GPU. In this article, let’s take a quick peek at the features, specifications, and availability details of the Infinix GT Book.

Infinix GT Book Overview:

Design and Display

The GT Book screams gamery with its stylized lid, futuristic design, and LED light bar at the back. We also see a unique ‘Mecha Loop’ on the lid which has glowing properties. That continues on the front with zoned RGB keys and a slightly accented trackpad. The GT Book is a 16” gaming laptop but impressively Infinix has managed to keep it below the 2kg threshold. We are not sure how it’s going to affect performance, but that’s an impressive achievement for a powerful large laptop.

On the display side of things, we see a taller 16:10 screen spanning 16 inches diagonally. The IPS panel supports up to 120Hz refresh rate and has full coverage of the sRGB color space. Other aspects like the resolution, brightness, and response time haven’t been disclosed yet.

Performance and Memory

Powering the Infinix GT Book is a mix of 12th and 13th Gen Intel ‘H’ series processors. For starters, you can pick between the Core i5-12450H and Core i5-13420H CPUS which are identical except for clock speeds. On the higher tiers, there’s an option for a Core i7 and Core i9 CPU.

Similarly, there are a number of GPU configurations from the NVIDIA RTX 3050 card to the newer RTX 40 series GPU. The RTX 3050 and 4050 ship with 6GB of VRAM while the 4060 has a little extra headroom both in terms of VRAM and raw power. The total system draw is limited to 115W though which will surely limit the amount of FPS that you can push on the GT Book. Everything is kept under wraps by the dual ICE Storm 3.0 cooling system.

RAM is soldered to the motherboard but you can get up to 32GB of it alongside up to a 1TB PCIe 4 SSD.

Battery and Extras

In the tank, there’s a 70Wh battery fueling the Infinix GT Book that takes its charge from a 190W DC adapter. There’s a Type-C port, two Type-As, an HDMI 2.1 port, an audio jack, and a SD card reader.

The gaming laptop is part of Infinix’s larger ‘GT Verse’ gaming ecosystem of smartphones, laptops, and accessories. It ships with an FHD webcam, DTS-tuned speakers, and a glass touchpad. Samsung Electronics has announced the release of the Galaxy Book4 Edge, the latest addition to its line of AI-powered PCs. This new model, available in both 14-inch and 16-inch sizes, is set to hit the market soon. In this article, we will discuss more about the latest Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge, including its expected price in Nepal, specifications, and availability.

Design and Display

Both models have a design made from recycled materials such as plastics, glass, and aluminum. The 14-inch version has a thickness of 10.9mm and weighs 1.16kg. The 16-inch version has a thickness of 12.3mm and weighs 1.55kg. Both are available in Sapphire Blue.

In late 2022, iQOO introduced the Neo9 and Neo9 Pro smartphones, with the latter boasting a Dimensity 9300 chipset. Following MediaTek’s introduction of a plus variant of the Dimensity 9300 chipset, iQOO is now set to unveil an updated model equipped with this latest processor. Performance

iQOO has released the Neo9S Pro, an updated version of the Neo9 Pro. The Neo9S Pro features the upgraded Dimensity 9300+ chipset. It retains the in-house Q1 chip designed by iQOO to improve gaming performance by providing a more stable frame rate. The GPU on the 9300+ is the same as the regular 9300, with enhancements made to the CPU and APU. The chipset is paired with 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage.

Display and Design

The display of the IQOO Neo9s Pro is a 6.78-inch LTPO OLED panel with a 144Hz refresh rate, 1260 x 2800 resolution (20:9 aspect ratio), and 2160Hz high-frequency PWM dimming.

A new “Star White” colorway with a soft satin finish on the glass back is introduced, alongside the existing black and red/white faux leather options.

Camera and Battery

The front camera is a 16MP sensor, carried over from the previous model. On the back, the IQOO Neo9S Pro has a dual camera setup with two 50MP sensors, with the main camera using a Sony IMX920 sensor and the other one being a 50MP ultrawide camera.

PUBG Mobile Super League (PMSL) CSA Spring 2024 – First Time Ever in Nepal

The PUBG Mobile Super League 2024, is an esports tournament for professional PUBG players. It was introduced in 2023, with an initial focus on Southeast Asia but later expanded to include other regions as well. The league features top teams from Central and South Asia (CSA) competing for a significant prize pool and the opportunity to qualify for global tournaments.

Apart from this, PUBG Mobile Challengers League SEA 2024 is also on the road. Here, only the team from Southeast Asia will participate. For now, let’s find out more about the PUBG Mobile Super League (PMSL) 2024 CSA and Nepal’s contribution to the event.

PMSL CSA 2024 Overview:

PMSL Schedule

The PUBG Mobile Super League (PMSL) CSA Spring 2024 will unfold in two main phases. The league stage runs from May 22 to June 9, with each of the three weeks featuring 5 match days and a total of 30 matches per week.

After this intense competition, the top 16 teams will move on to the Grand Finals, which will take place from June 13 to June 15. The Finals will feature 18 matches, with 6 matches played each day. The team that comes out on top will be the champion.

The groups will be reshuffled every week:

Week 1: Teams will be grouped randomly
Week 2: Teams will be grouped based on their Week 1 placements.
Week 3: Teams will be grouped based on their Week 2 placements.

Each week, teams will earn Bonus Points based on their placements. The top 16 teams, determined by the overall rankings, will advance to the Finals.

What about the Finals?

The Finals of the PUBG Mobile Super League (PMSL) CSA Spring 2024 will take place from June 13th to 15th, 2024. The top 16 teams from the league stage will feature here.

In the Finals, teams will start with half of the Bonus Points they earned during the League stage. If a team has an odd number of total bonus points, the points will be rounded up to the nearest whole number.

Then, the Finals will consist of 18 matches, with 6 matches played each day. Teams will battle it out in intense matches to determine the ultimate champion of the PMSL CSA Spring 2024.

In the PMSL 2024 CSA, there will be a total of 20 teams from Central Asia, South Asia, and Pakistan. The live competition will happen in Kathmandu, Nepal. Below is the list of teams competing in the PMSL CSA Spring 2024.

Prize Pool

To award the participants, this event boasts a substantial prize pool, with a total of $200,000. The organizers have not yet disclosed the exact distribution of the prize money among the teams. But, this significant sum underscores the high stakes and competitive nature of the tournament.

After the event, the top four teams will secure their spots in the group stage of the PUBG Mobile World Championship (PMWC). Meanwhile, the team finishing in fifth place will earn a slot in the Survival stage of the PMWC.

How were the teams qualified for PMSL?

In the initial group stage, a total of 28 teams (14 from Nepal) competed, divided into 7 groups (Group A – Group G). Each team played a total of 16 matches during this stage – from which the top 16 teams advanced to the finals of the group stage.

Finally, these top 16 teams faced off in a series of 8 matches from where only the top 5 teams from this stage qualified for the prestigious PMSL CSA 2024. Nepal is one of the 5 teams who qualified.

Out of a total of 20 teams, 15 other teams were invited to participate in the PMSL based on their performance in previous leagues and their overall rankings.

Infinix GT 20 Pro – the official phone for PMSL

The Infinix GT 20 Pro is the official phone for the event. It’s a midrange gaming phone with a MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chipset, known for its 4nm platform. Infinix is using this sponsorship to promote the GT 20 Pro as one of the first phones capable of running PUBG Mobile at 120 frames per second.

To earn its title as the Official Gaming Phone for PMSL EMEA and CSA, the GT 20 Pro went through several tests. These included checking its basic performance and testing it in a simulated match environment. Furthermore, they invited pro players to test its cooling system and other features in a real gaming scenario. The GT 20 Pro passed these tests and earned recognition as the dedicated esports-level smartphone for PMSL, EMEA, and CSA.

Moreover, the Infinix GT 20 Pro was also used in other big mobile gaming tournaments like Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) and Honor of Kings (HOK).
