Best Internet Service Providers (ISP) in Nepal 2025 [Updated]

In this article, I’ll be talking about the best internet service providers (ISPs) in Nepal. But please allow me to make a proper introduction first.

The internet has become an integral part of our modern-day life. So much so, that even the UN says internet access is a human right. From business requirements to personal entertainment to just basic digital socialization, our dependence on the web has rendered our lives into interconnected bliss; though I’d imagine many don’t share the same belief.

And with growing infrastructure, affordability, & subsequent accessibility, the total number of people connected to the web will only go uphill.

According to the International Telecommunications Union (ITU), global internet users grew by 10% during the COVID-19 pandemic. This is by far the largest year-on-year increase in the last decade. With this, 63% out of 7.8 billion people are now connected to the internet.

Internet usage growth trampled in Nepal by the price hikes

Unfortunately, while internet usage has grown over the years in Nepal as well, its cost remains a big issue. In a country like ours where the GDP per capita is just a little over a thousand USD, the government decided to levy an additional 13% Telecommunications Service Charge (TSC) on top of the 13% VAT and 4% royalty fees.

As a result, a 2021 report from the A4AI (Alliance 4 Affordable Internet) places Nepal in the 37th position (among 72 low and middle-income countries); which is not that great. Then there’s the dilemma of selecting the correct ISP for you.

Recent speed war

It all began when CG Net debuted with 120Mbps internet plans for residential users. This compelled other ISPs to offer more competitive plans. Today, it’s normal for Nepali ISPs to promise bandwidth higher than 100Mbps, which was not the case a year ago. ISPs like Dishhome even offer 1Gbps internet plans to residential users.

Taking a different route, a brand new ISP WiFi Nepal has emerged with low-bandwidth plans with an affordable price tag. However, we are yet to test it for ourselves.

It’s not uncommon for ISPs in Nepal to come up with mouth-watering plans only for them to dismiss other crucial aspects like speed consistency, service level, support, and customer satisfaction. Most of them are not even transparent about their FUP policy.

Disclaimer: The “perfect” ISP is a myth

But before you go on scratching your head questioning the absolute best ISP in Nepal, let me tell you one thing: there isn’t one. What I mean is that there isn’t one objectively correct answer to the question “Which is the best ISP in Nepal?” It mostly boils down to where you’re located. An ISP may have excellent service & positive customer references in one area and that may not reciprocate to other regions.

So, be sure to consult your neighbors on their internet subscription (if possible) before making your decision. With that out of the way, let’s take a look at our list of some of the best Internet Service Providers (ISPs) in Nepal.

One more thing (I know I’ve already dragged the intro but please bear with me here), We’re listing out internet plans from different ISPs for home/residential customers; and all the prices are exclusive of VAT. Also, though the internet plans of these ISPs may have the “unlimited” label suffixed to them, all of these have FUP restrictions. However, each company’s FUP policy is different.

Best Internet Service Providers (ISP) in Nepal:

1. Worldlink

According to the latest Management Information System (MIS) report by the Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA), Worldlink (FTTH) alone has a user base of more than 972,781. This makes it the largest ISP and the third-largest telecommunications firm in Nepal. It marked 25 years of service back in 2020. The journey began with the introduction of the e-mail service in 1995, and the company has accomplished a lot in these years.

Worldlink signed a $12 million contract with the UK’s CDC Group in October 2019 to expand the company’s facilities and operation in rural parts of Nepal.

Furthermore, in partnership with Facebook, Worldlink provides free Wi-Fi and “my Worldlink” Wi-Fi (exclusive to Worldlink users) in over 10,000 locations throughout Nepal. Currently, there are over 14,000 of these Wi-Fi hotspots across Nepal.

Moreover, the organization intends to extend the operation to 30,000 locations. It currently offers network coverage in 73 districts, including the most remote areas of Karnali.

Worldlink - Best internet service providers Nepal ISP

Worldlink currently offers residential fiber internet plans with up to 300Gbps of bandwidth. You get 1 year of internet connection, and an option to expand the coverage area with Mesh Wi-Fi. Other than this, the ISP also introduced a ‘PUBG Gamer’s Pack’ for those battle royale action lovers. The package is available in two internet speeds: 250Mbps and 300Mbps while costing the same as the regular residential plans.

Talking of Worldlink’s NetTV, it comes bundled with some packages while you can also opt for one without it.

myWorldlink App

Apart from that, the “myWorldlink” app is useful for tracking internet usage, reporting problems, changing Wi-Fi passwords, and so on. With the latest update, the app now has a troubleshooting feature as well.

Other than this, every plan also comes with the following features:

  • 2रुन्तै: Worldlink promises to solve your internet-related issue within two hours. If not, users will get two days of internet for free.
  • SafeNet: To monitor the usage and filter, block out any malicious contents on the web
  • Time Back: Compensation against interrupted service due to internet outage or other reasons
  • WiFi Mobility: As aforementioned, it is a partnership with Facebook Connectivity using its Express Wi-Fi platform to provide more than 14,000 hotspots across Nepal.

2. DishHome Internet

DishHome is a relatively new name in Nepal’s ISP industry, but it has managed to garner second place with 343,825 subscribers. The company launched its Fibernet plans in 2020 from Kathmandu and is currently in the stage of expansion. DishHome Internet benefits from the existing distribution network of DishHome’s DTH TV.

Unlike any other ISPs in this list of best internet service providers in Nepal, DishHome Internet provides users with the choice between IPTV and DTH TV. The latter uses satellite signals, thus, saving your valuable bandwidth.

3. Nepal Telecom FTTH

Surprisingly, we have dear old Nepal Telecom’s own FTTH internet bagging the third spot. Though people threw major shade at its notoriously slow ADSL-based internet services, believe it or not, there have been some positives to NT’s FTTH service.

Nepal Telecom has 321,758 users subscribed to its Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) internet plan as per the latest data. The number has been on the rise since the first lockdown. For reference, NT recorded 60,000 new users in the first 10 months of lockdown.

NT FTTH is now available in 77 different locations across different districts, with speeds ranging from 50Mbps to 200Mbps under different plans and packages. To lure more users, these internet plans come bundled with NTTV and telephone service. You can dial 198 for a new FTTH connection.

4. Subisu

Subisu is another household name when it comes to digital TV & internet services in Nepal. It was established in 2001 and Subisu is the only cable operator in Nepal to be ISO 9001:2015 and 27001:2013 certified. That should speak volumes in itself.

While it had a total of 260,153 fiber internet subscribers the last time we updated our list, the company has managed to increase its subscriber base count to 310,627. There could be a number of reasons for this growth.

First off, the company has introduced new plans in an effort to remain relevant in the market. And, their website which was difficult to navigate in the past, has gotten better now. However, we still think it can get even better.

5. Vianet

Vianet is now ranked fifth among the biggest ISPs in Nepal with 242,333 subscribers. That being said, a large number of people are still subscribed to Vianet. Its FTTH service has a strong foothold, especially in Kathmandu Valley with a lot of satisfied home & corporate users.

Despite its tag as one of the largest ISPs in Nepal, Vianet hasn’t been able to expand its business in several districts of Nepal. The company is currently operational in 28 districts, the remotest being in Darchula, Khalanga.

6. Web Surfer

Web Surfer is back in the news at the 6th spot with 186,399 subscribers as per the latest reports. The company was founded in 1999 and began with Radio Modems for corporates. Likewise, it started the Intranet Connectivity services in Kathmandu in the year 2008. Cable internet service commenced in 2014 along with Cable TV.

Websurfer ISP Nepal

It is commendable for Websurfer to be named among the Top ISPs in Nepal. Credit goes to its attractive packages at cheaper rates than the competition. It currently offers fiber net alongside TV combo packages. But one thing, I must address is that their website is practically unusable. Every package shows a 0 rupees price for the internet packages, which is a big bummer. It has been like this for over 8 months now and I had already raised an issue calling’em but, it’s still like this.

Websurfer ISP Plan

7. Classic Tech

Classic Tech has moved to the seventh position with a user base of 176,120. The ISP arrived late to the speed war but with a bang. It launched Tachyon plans in 2021 to counter Worldlink Photon plans with a maximum bandwidth of up to 1Gbps. The company even provides Huawei Wi-Fi 6 router in collaboration with Huawei under the Platinum Tachyon plans. Currently, the highest speed you can get is 300Mbps.

[Honorable Mention] CG Net

As we all know, the ISP market in Nepal has grown stale over the last few years. That’s why when CG Net debuted with its 120Mbps home plans, it felt like a breath of fresh air. Back then, other ISPs were hardly giving bandwidth higher than 80Mbps. Thus, CG Communications can also be credited with the recent bandwidth war between Nepali ISPs.

Recently, the company has also announced its IPTV service under the plan named ” CG Net Jodi”. However, being a new player in the market, it has been struggling with coverage expansion and customer service. But its internet packages are quite attractive with relatively lower prices than the competition.

Best Internet Service Providers (ISP) in Nepal 2025 (Summary)

3 Nepal Telecom FTTH
4 Subisu
5 Vianet
6 Websurfer
7 ClassicTech

Final words

So that was it for our list of the best internet service providers (ISP) in Nepal. To re-iterate—once again—there isn’t a single best option among them, and your location is definitely a major factor defining their performance. But obviously, ISPs like Worldlink & Vianet offer a wider range of services with their internet subscription.

And that may be of great significance to userbase like families & such. Therefore, it is necessary to determine your usage volume and conduct proper research about the particular ISP’s reputation in your community before going for it.

OnePlus Nord CE5 specs and launch date leaked, will feature Dimensity 8350 chipset

0

The upcoming OnePlus Nord CE5 is shaping up to be a notable upgrade over its predecessor, the Nord CE4. The Nord CE5 was expected to launch early in May, but now a new leak reveals, the Nord CE4 will be launched alongside the Nord 5. This article will discuss everything we know so far about the upcoming OnePlus Nord CE5, including its rumors, availability and expected pricing.

OnePlus Nord CE5 Rumors

Larger Battery

One of the biggest changes is the battery. The Nord CE5 will reportedly pack a huge 7,100 mAh battery, a significant jump from the 5,500 mAh cell in the CE4. However, it appears that the fast charging speed is being slightly downgraded, with support for 80W wired charging instead of the 100W seen in the CE4.

Performance

The phone will also feature a change in its processor. OnePlus appears to be shifting from Qualcomm to MediaTek for this model, using the Dimensity 8350 chipset instead of the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 that powered the CE4. This change might influence both performance and efficiency, though real-world results remain to be seen.

Display and Cameras

OnePlus Nord CE4 Cameras

The display remains a 6.7-inch flat OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate, much like the CE4’s AMOLED screen. In terms of cameras, the setup seems largely unchanged. The CE5 will use the same 50-megapixel Sony LYT-600 sensor as the main camera, paired with an 8-megapixel Sony IMX355 ultrawide lens. The selfie camera stays at 16 megapixels, indicating that photography may see little to no upgrade.

Memory and Extras

Other details revealed include 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The phone will also offer a hybrid SIM slot and come with a single speaker. There’s no word yet on build materials or design, but it’s likely to maintain the plastic frame and glass back seen in earlier Nord models.

OnePlus Nord CE5 Launch and Price

The Nord CE5 is expected to launch sometime in May, with pricing likely to be in the same range as the CE4. If these leaks hold true, the Nord CE5 will appeal to users looking for long battery life and a familiar OnePlus experience, even with a few trade-offs in charging speed and chipset preference.

  • Meanwhile, check out our review of the CE 4

The upcoming OnePlus Nord 5 launch date leaked

It has been almost a year since OnePlus released the Nord 4 (review), and attention is now shifting to its successor. A leak on X (formerly Twitter) previously revealed several key specifications of the upcoming OnePlus Nord 5; now, a new tipster has emerged, providing its possible launch date. Let’s find out more in this article.

OnePlus Nord 5 Rumors

Display and Design

The OnePlus Nord 5 is rumored to feature a flat OLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It is expected to include an in-display fingerprint scanner as well. But unlike its predecessor, which has a full metal design, OnePlus may switch to a glass back and plastic frame for this guy. Reports also mention dual speakers and an IR blaster.

Performance

As for performance, the OnePlus Nord 5 is expected to feature the MediaTek Dimensity 9400e chipset. This has been cited by multiple leakers ,including Debayan Roy, Abhishek Yadav, and even Digital Chat Station.

And since the OnePlus Nord 4 was essentially a rebadged OnePlus Ace 3V (exclusive to China), we won’t be surprised if the Nord 5 will be Ace 5V in disguise. There likely won’t be a OnePlus Ace 4V in China since the number “4” is considered unlucky in the country.

By the way, that Dimensity 9400e chip is said to be a binned variant of MediaTek’s flagship Dimensity 9400. Reports suggest that the 9400e could deliver better performance than both the Dimensity 9300 Plus and the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor. Thus making it more powerful than the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 chipset found in the OnePlus Nord 4.

Cameras

In terms of cameras, the OnePlus Nord 5 is rumored to feature a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) and an 8MP ultrawide sensor, similar to the Nord 4. The front camera is expected to remain at 16MP.

While the hardware appears largely unchanged, potential improvements could come from updated image processing or new camera software features compared to the previous model.

Massive battery

The OnePlus Nord 5 is rumored to feature a 7,000mAh battery, a notable increase from the 5,500mAh battery in the Nord 4. With support for 100W wired charging, which is the same as on its predecessor.

OnePlus Nord 5 Price and Availability

The rumors suggest that the OnePlus Nord 5 will make its debut in July 8. At a starting price of INR 29,999 (~ USD 355). There is no official launch timeline revealed by OnePlus itself, but we expect to hear more about this midrange phone in the coming weeks.

Oppo A5i and A5i Pro officially launched with Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 1 chip

Oppo has quietly released two new affordable smartphones, the Oppo A5i and Oppo A5i Pro. These phones aren’t completely new, they’re actually updated versions of the earlier Oppo A5 Pro 4G but they still bring solid upgrades, especially when it comes to battery life and build strength. In this article, we will discuss the Oppo 5i and A5i Pro including the specifications and expected price in Nepal.

Oppo A5i and A5i Pro Overview

Display and Design

Both the Oppo A5i and A5i Pro come with a 6.67-inch LCD screen that has HD+ resolution (720 x 1604) and a smooth 90Hz refresh rate. They reach up to 1,000 nits of brightness, which makes them easy to see in sunlight. The Pro version has a better IPS panel and an anti-glare coating, so it looks clearer outdoors.

Oppo A5i Design

Oppo uses China Southern Glass and Panda Glass to protect the front and back. These are “twice reinforced,” and both phones passed MIL-STD-810H military-grade testing. The A5i has an IP54 rating, offering basic splash protection, but the Pro model does better with an IP65 rating, making it more durable.

Performance and Software

Under the hood, both phones use the Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 1 chip, which is actually a renamed Snapdragon 662. It runs on eight Kryo 260 cores (with 4 Cortex-A73 and 4 Cortex-A53 cores) and an Adreno 610 GPU. While it’s not powerful by today’s standards, it’s good enough for daily use.

Snapdragon 8s Elite

The A5i Pro gets 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.1 storage, making it noticeably faster. The regular A5i, on the other hand, has 4GB or 6GB RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of eMMC 5.1 storage, which is slower. Both phones run Android 15 with ColorOS 15.

Camera

In terms of camera, the A5i Pro includes a 50MP main rear camera with a bright f/1.85 aperture, a second sensor (likely for depth), and an LED ring light. This setup supports 4K video at 30fps and 1080p at 60fps, which is quite rare in this price range.

In comparison, the regular A5i only has a basic 8MP rear camera, and both phones share the same 5MP front-facing camera, limited to 1080p at 30fps. The selfie camera won’t blow you away, but it works fine for video calls.

Battery and Charging

Oppo put a lot of focus on battery life. The A5i Pro comes with a big 6,000mAh silicon-carbon battery, while the A5i has a 5,100mAh battery. Oppo says the smaller battery can keep 80% of its health even after four years, which is impressive. Both support 45W SuperVOOC fast charging, so they fill up quickly even with large capacities.

Apple MacBook Air M3 13-inch

Apple’s latest MacBook Air offering for 2024 feels more like a refresh than a new iteration entirely, thanks to its almost unchanged exterior. The ‘Midnight’ M3 Air features a new anodization to reduce fingerprints but except that there are no visual changes this generation. You get the same unibody metal design that weighs less than 1.25 kg and measures just a tad more than 1 cm.

M3 MacBook Air - Design

The new Macbook Air with M3 is up to 60% faster than the M1. It features a total of 8 cores with up to 10 GPU cores. There’s the same 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display with a notch for the 1080p FaceTime camera. It is powered by a 52.6Wh battery with support for 67W charging.

Apple MacBook Pro 14 M3 chip

Like the previous iterations, the MacBook Pro 14-inch with the M3 family of chips brings no significant upgrades design-wise. But there’s now a ‘Space Black’ color option with the M3 Pro and Max-equipped Macbook Pro 14. Besides that, the MacBook Pro 14 still has the same aluminum chassis and a 14.2-inch Liquid Retina XDR screen with a resolution of 3024 x 1964 pixels. The Pro-Motion (120Hz) panel now hits 600 nits at maximum brightness when viewing SDR content (from the 500 nits on the predecessor) but the peak HDR brightness of 1600 nits stays the same.

An important distinction to make is that there’s now a new member in the Pro 14 lineup with the MacBook Pro 14 with a base M3 chip. This guy is replacing the 13.3-inch Macbook Pro with a touch bar and only costs a bit more offering a refreshed design, a much better display, and a bigger battery.

The MacBook Pro 2023, powered by the new M3, M3 Pro, and M3 Max chips, is a significant upgrade over its predecessors. These chips, built on a 3-nanometer process technology, feature a next-generation GPU and improved CPU performance cores. They offer up to 2.5x faster rendering speeds, 30% faster CPU performance cores, and a 60% faster Neural Engine than the M1 chips.

Finally, although the ports are the same as before on the higher-end models, the base Pro 14 with an M3 chip misses out on the left USB-C port. So, you are getting 2 Thunderbolt 4s, an HDMI 2.1 port, an SD card reader, MagSafe, and a 3.5mm audio jack.

Why are MacBooks so popular in Nepal?

There’s a reason why they’re so popular, especially in the western markets. A great design, superb display, awesome trackpad, and excellent battery life; I mean, what’s not to like? And then there’s the widely accepted notion of how Apple’s products are less vulnerable to exploits than their Android/Windows counterparts!

Ticking all those boxes for a great machine, Apple’s MacBooks obviously don’t come cheap. And that’s especially hurting for Nepalese buyers since the price between the international & our domestic market is very contrasting. Keeping that aside, it is good news that many distributors & resellers are bringing MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, and other Apple products to Nepal for a daring price.

Options are always great, but they can also make things confusing to many. So in this article, we’ve compiled a list of all the models of the Apple MacBook Air and MacBook Pro available in Nepal, along with their price.

Which MacBook to buy in Nepal? [Mini-Guide]

Who is MacBook Air for?

Apple’s MacBook lineup is pretty streamlined, just like the iPhones. There are a few models, each designed for a specific group of users. The most basic one is the MacBook Air. Currently, Apple offers three MacBook Airs in Nepal— one powered by the M1 chip, the other by the M2 chip, and the latest M3 Air. The M1 MacBook Air is almost four years old and goes for sale more often. No wonder it is the most popular MacBook in Nepal. Although it is meant for normal usage, you can push the laptop to handle basic video editing, making it perfect for students.

People with more flexible budgets tend to go for the MacBook Air M2. This is the newer of the two and, thus, more future-proof. Although not as ground-breaking as its predecessor, the M2 MacBook Air brings significant quality-of-life upgrades such as a new design, a Liquid Retina screen, a 1080p FaceTime camera, and MagSafe charging. The M3 is the newest but carries a premium while only bringing a chip upgrade and nothing else.

Who is MacBook Pro for?

A tier above the Airs is the 13-inch MacBook Pro. As you can guess by the name, it is for more demanding users. Powered by the same chip as the MacBook Airs, it has one key difference— active cooling, which the Air lack. As a result, MacBook Pro 13 can sustain demanding workloads for longer. This is why aspiring content creators usually go with the M1 and M2-powered MacBook Pro. That said, M1 and M2 MacBook Pro are generally more expensive than the corresponding Air and have outdated designs and features for 2025. They have been replaced by the 14-inch Macbook Pro with base M3 chip.

Finally, the most premium MacBooks in Nepal are the ones with Pro and Max forms of M-series Apple Silicon chips. They are the most expensive MacBooks in Nepal and are thus used mostly by content creators and other professionals. As with flagship products, you get to enjoy every bells and whistles. This includes Apple’s fastest processors, 120Hz mini LED displays, studio-like audio setup, and more.

You have the option to visit a physical showroom or order online based on your preference. The most popular stores to buy MacBooks are EvoStore, Oliz Store, and Hukut Store. You can find the complete list of retail outlets and service centers here.

Conclusion

Yes, the price of the Apple MacBook Air & MacBook Pro in Nepal definitely doesn’t compare to the market overseas. Gotta work with what we’ve got, eh? Keeping that in mind, you might be tempted to buy one for yourself from abroad or on the grey market, but we’d suggest against it. Only buying through official channels guarantees a genuine product, after-sales services, and other amenities. Plus, with that, you’ll also be supporting local businesses; it’s a win-win!

Honor 400 Review: not just another midranger

The new Honor 400 series has launched in Nepal! Last year’s Honor 200 and 200 Pro were quite popular, they were hit models. And this time, the Honor 400 series includes three phones – Honor 400 Lite, Honor 400, and Honor 400 Pro.  In this article, let’s talk about the slightly cheaper Honor 400.

The price of the Honor 400 in Nepal is Rs. 68,000 for the 12+512GB variant, the same as last year’s Honor 200. However, this time, Honor is offering an amazing pre-booking gift.
You get this smartwatch called Choice 2i worth Rs. 11,000, and Honor X7 Lite earbuds worth Rs. 2,082. So, freebies worth around Rs. 13,000. Plus, there’s a 0% EMI facility on this phone too. Earlier, EMI was only available for Samsung, but now almost all brands offer it. Also, you get 1-year screen replacement for free – if your screen breaks, you get one free replacement. So there are lots of offers, but the main question is – is the Honor 400 worth it at Rs. 68,000? At this same price range, you get Samsung’s hit model Galaxy A56… Vivo V50 is also available. So, which one to choose? I’ll tell you all this at the end, so let’s begin this review by carefully looking at each categories.

Honor 400 Specifications

  • Dimensions: 156.5 x 74.6 x 7.3 mm
  • Weight: 184g
  • Display: 6.55″ AMOLED curved display, 120Hz refresh rate, 1.07B colors
  • Resolution: 2736 × 1264 pixels
  • Durability: IP65 dust and water resistance
  • Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 (4nm)
  • RAM: 12GB LPDDR5X
  • ROM: 256GB or 512GB
  • OS & UI: Android 15 with MagicOS 9.0
  • Rear Camera: 200MP main (OIS), 12MP ultra-wide (f/2.2)
  • Front Camera: 50MP (f/2.1)
  • Battery: 6000mAh silicon-carbon cell
  • Charging: 80W wired SuperCharge, 80W wireless, 5Wreverse charging
  • Audio: Stereo speakers (no 3.5mm jack)
  • Connectivity: eSIM 5G, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, USB Type-C
  • Security: In-display fingerprint sensor, Face unlock

Honor 400 Review

So starting off, inside the box, you get a charger – and it’s 80W. Brands like Samsung and Nothing don’t include it, but Honor does – that’s a good thing. You also get all the standard accessories.

Design

So, I will begin by telling you the two things I liked about this phone –
Its design and display! The phone’s design feels very premium. It has a boxy shape with rounded corners, a glass back, and classy color options. I liked that it feels handier than before – no curved edges, so no accidental touches either. Even the camera module looks better – before, it used to look like an egg.

So yes, design-wise, the phone is great. It also has an IP66 rating. The previous Honor 200 didn’t have any IP rating, so that’s a nice improvement. And even though this phone has a 6000mAh battery, it doesn’t feel too heavy or bulky. Honor was one of the first companies to adopt SiCa technology, and you get that here too.

Display

The display is also top-tier – it’s a 6.55-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and 10-bit color depth. So it’s fairly color-accurate. And most importantly, it has 3840Hz PWM dimming, so even after long usage, it won’t strain your eyes. HDR works across YouTube and OTT platforms too, and overall the viewing experience is very good – 9/10! You also get an in-display fingerprint sensor – it’s optical, not ultrasonic – but it’s fast. It’s placed slightly lower, so you’ll have to stretch your thumb a bit. If you have big hands, it won’t be an issue. One more thing – I didn’t keep the refresh rate in dynamic mode; I locked it to high (120Hz). In dynamic mode, sometimes the refresh rate drops, and the UI starts feeling a bit slow – hopefully, Honor will fix this in future updates.

OS and UI

Speaking of updates, Honor has committed to more updates this time. They’re offering 6 years of OS updates, which is good – almost like Samsung. Also, Honor’s UI is clean – no ads, very little bloatware – that’s good too. Still, honestly speaking, it’s a little behind Samsung’s OneUI or Nothing OS in terms of user experience.

Anyway, Honor is taking AI features seriously this time. They’re even marketing it as an AI phone from the beginning. In the camera, you get features like AI Eraser and AI Upscaler – and an AI Outpainting feature that expands images using generative AI. AI Face Tune includes different beautification options – if your eyes are closed, it will process and open them in the best way possible.

There’s even a built-in image-to-video converter, which gives convincing results.
You can select any image from the gallery and turn it into a 5–7 second video.
It takes 1–2 minutes to process, but the output is good. Honor also has its own AI video editor, which is good enough for basic Instagram or TikTok videos – you won’t need third-party apps.

The main highlight is the Deepfake Detection feature – no free AI tool currently does this. During video calls, the phone can detect if the person is deepfaked and tell you whether it’s real or not.

Performance and Haptics

Now let me talk about the three things that I found disappointing or could have been better.

First – the haptics aren’t very good. It has such a good display, but the vibration feedback feels cheap and buzzy.

Second – Honor has not improve in the performance segment compared to last year.
Yes, Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 is the best available in this price range, but to stand out in the competition, they could’ve gone with 7+ Gen 3. In fact, the Chinese variant of this phone has the newer SD 7 Gen 4.

honor 400 ui

Now we know how SD 7 Gen 3 performs – it’s smooth for regular tasks, and
for gaming: PUBG runs at 60fps, Genshin Impact at High + 30fps – which is decent.

Camera

Third – I’m not very happy with the cameras, but that’s mostly because I had high expectations. Last year’s Honor 200 had a telephoto lens that took amazing portraits. But this time, Honor removed the telephoto lens.

Now, the main camera is 200MP, and there’s a 12MP ultra-wide lens.
the main camera can take good portraits, but you miss the unique perspective that a telephoto provides.

Still, you can take social-media-worthy portraits from 2x to 4x zoom. Skin tones are good, contrast has a dramatic look – so that’s nice. It still has those heavy filter options from before – I personally liked the black & white one. The normal photos from the main camera have great contrast and sharpness. Colors are vibrant – good for travel shots.

Even night-time shots come out sharp without using night mode. In fact, under good lighting, normal mode performs better than night mode.

I liked the selfies too – they are slightly smoothened, but natural details are preserved, and colors look good.

The ultra-wide photos looked more natural to me – although with less detail (since it’s only 12MP), the dynamic range is surprisingly good.

You can even shoot 4K 30fps videos from the ultra-wide lens, just like the main lens –
and you can switch lenses mid-shoot, which many phones don’t allow.

The video quality is good – not shaky, thanks to the EIS+OIS combo, and it handles color and highlights well. So I have no complaints about videography. Even selfie videos support 4K 30fps and are stable. My only complaint in the video department is that at night, videos get noisy, and the ultra-wide camera lacks detail in low light. But daytime videos are really good!

Battery and Charging

Lastly, about battery life – under normal usage, this phone gives up to 2 days of battery.
Even with heavy usage, I still had 10–15% left at the end of the day – so that’s good. Charging takes about 1 hour with the included 80W charger.

Honor 400 Review: Pros and Cons

Pros

  • Clean, minimal design
  • Excellent display quality
  • Great battery life
  • Clean software with AI features

Cons

  • No zoom lens
  • Poor low-light video
  • Feels similar to predecessor
  • The price could be lower

Honor 400 Review: Conclusion

To sum it up, the Honor 400 is a solid phone. It holds its own against competitors – the design and display are great. Performance is standard. I missed the telephoto lens, but the overall camera performance is still good. Battery life is great, and you don’t need to buy a separate charger.

If you’re someone who uses a lot of AI features, this phone offers plenty –
the deepfake detection feature is especially impressive. That said, the price could’ve offered better value – if it was around Rs. 60,000–62,000, this would’ve been one of the best options out there.

iOS 26 unveiled with Liquid Glass and AI-powered Intelligence

0

Apple has officially released iOS 26, marking one of the most transformative updates in iPhone history. Skipping from iOS 18 to 26 to align naming across platforms, this update introduces the visually striking Liquid Glass design language, deeper integration of Apple Intelligence (AI), and a host of new features aimed at improving user experience across apps, communication, and connectivity. In this article, we will discuss in detail the features of iOS 26 as described by Apple press release.

iOS 26 features overview

Liquid Glass Design

The standout feature in iOS 26 is the Liquid Glass interface. This design brings a fresh, fluid aesthetic to the iPhone experience, replacing static elements with dynamic, translucent layers that respond to movement and touch. Inspired by visionOS, this new visual language gives the interface a glass-like sheen, making it feel more immersive and alive. From floating widgets and rounded tab bars to animated transitions that mimic liquid motion, Liquid Glass adds depth and personality while maintaining the familiar usability of iOS.

Liquid Glass

From icons and widgets to tab bars and the keyboard, everything now exhibits a floating, glassy aesthetic. Even system animations have been reimagined, such as the water droplet effect in the Clock app’s tab bar or translucent layers over wallpaper and text.

Moreover, the Lock Screen adapts dynamically to images and notifications, while wallpapers gain 3D-like spatial scenes, reminiscent of Nintendo 3DS effects. Customization options extend to app icons and widgets, now offering a clearer and more expressive look.

Apple Intelligence comes alive

iOS 26 deepens the integration of Apple Intelligence, ensuring that tasks are not only smarter but handled on-device for better privacy. From live translation in calls and messages to on-screen visual understanding, AI now plays a central role in user experience.

Apple Intelligence

This update also brings a new “Ask” tool and image recognition, with which users can take a screenshot and highlight elements for more information, shopping, or contextual actions. We have already seen something similar in Google’s Circle to Search.

A new added feature called Smart Shortcuts now incorporates Apple Intelligence, unlocking context-aware actions, auto-suggested responses, and even personalized order tracking from email content. Developers can also tap into Apple’s foundation models using a new API framework.

Communication Reimagined

The redesigned Phone app now includes tabs for Favorites, Recents, and Voicemail all in one scrollable view. Call Screening only rings your device after unknown callers state their name and purpose. Hold Assist will alert users when a customer service rep is available after long waits.

Communication Reimagined

The Messages app adds support for AI-generated chat backgrounds, polling in group chats, and Apple Cash transfers. Screening tools now silence and sort messages from unknown senders into a dedicated folder until reviewed.

FaceTime introduces video messages and personalized contact posters. Integrated Live Translation offers real-time audio and caption translation during calls.

Redesigned core apps

The Camera app gets a simplified Liquid Glass interface with easier access to quality settings. In Photos, 2D images can now be converted into immersive 3D Spatial Scenes. Tabs for Library and Collections make organization simpler.

Safari now features a floating, adaptable tab bar that shrinks during browsing and expands when needed, offering a distraction-free experience.

Apple Music gets lyrics translation, pronunciation tools, 3D album artwork on the Lock Screen, and AutoMix for seamless transitions. Music Pins lets users bookmark favorite songs, artists, or genres.

Enhanced experiences

iOS 26 transforms the in-car experience with a Liquid Glass-inspired CarPlay design. Widgets, Live Activities, and Tapbacks come to the dashboard. CarPlay Ultra allows for total system integration across vehicle screens, including climate and audio controls.

Enhanced experiences

Apple Maps now learns user behavior for better commuting suggestions and introduces Visited Places to revisit previous locations. The Wallet app features a more intuitive boarding pass UI and supports Find My trackers and flight status sharing.

A new playground for gamers

iOS 26 introduces a dedicated Games app, consolidating the gaming experience under one roof. Users can discover new titles, track updates, and join multiplayer sessions via tabs like Home, Arcade, Play Together, and Library.

iOS 26 Availability

The developer beta of iOS 26 is available now. A public beta will roll out in July, with the official consumer release set for fall 2025.

Apple MacBook Air 13-inch with M2 Price in Nepal [Updated]

Apple announced the redesigned MacBook Air with the M2 chip back in WWDC 2022. This entry-level MacBook was then awarded a spec bump just recently, pushing the base memory to 16GB instead of the stingy 8GB. That variant officially landed in Nepal a while back, and it’s now more affordable than ever. In this article, we will discuss the specs, official price, and availability of the Apple MacBook Air M2 in Nepal.

Apple MacBook Air M2 Price in Nepal and Availability

After the price drop, the price of the Apple MacBook Air M2 now starts at NPR 129,999 for the 16/256GB model. You can buy it from authorized stores like Hukut, where you will also get a Havit Dual Mode mouse for free.

Apple MacBook Air (M2) Overview:

M2 chip

Let’s start with the chip. The new MacBook Air (2022) is the first laptop with the second-gen Apple Silicon M2 chip. Like the M1 chip, the new chip is based on unified memory architecture and focuses on power efficiency. Built on a second-gen 5nm node, Apple M2 has 20 billion transistors.

Apple M2 chip now features eight CPU cores, including new and improved efficiency and performance cores. It is paired with the next-gen GPU, which now has up to 10 cores.

M2 Chip

In terms of memory, the chip is configurable with up to 24GB of unified memory, with a total bandwidth of 100GB/s. Likewise, SSD storage is configurable with up to 2TB.

Compared to the M1, the M2 chip is 18% faster CPU-wise and 35% faster in GPU. Apple says that the chip can handle 4K and 8K videos better than the original M1 chip because of the new media and ProRes video engines.

New Design

In addition to the internals, Apple has also overhauled the design of the MacBook Air M2. The 2022 model moves away from the traditional wedge design in favour of the MacBook Pro-like look.

It has a metal unibody made out of recycled aluminium. It measures 11.3mm in thickness and about 1.25 kg in weight.

Apple is offering more colour options, too. You can now get the MacBook Air M2 in Midnight and Starlight shades in addition to the usual Space Grey and Silver options.

Larger Display

Moving on, Apple MacBook Air M2 now features a larger 13.6-inch Liquid Retina display with thinner bezels. The screen can produce over 1 billion colors and can get bright up to 500 nits.

Apple has cleaned up the space at the top to make room for a menu bar. It results in a bar-shaped notch for the 1080p FaceTime camera.

Apple MacBook Air M2 Display

It offers twice the resolution and low-light performance of the last-gen solution as a result of a larger image sensor and efficient pixel technology.

Audio Setup

Apple MacBook Air (M2) features a quad-speaker setup and a three-mic array. The latter is backed by Apple’s beamforming algorithm. The speakers support Spatial Audio and Dolby Atmos. To include all of it in a small chassis, Apple has placed the speaker and audio setup in the space between the display and keyboard

MagSafe Charging

The new MacBook Air also marks the return of MagSafe charging to Apple’s affordable MacBook lineup. A dedicated charging port means users can use the two Thunderbolt Ports for other accessories.

MacBook Air M2 Ports

It even supports 67W USC-C charging that can fill up the 52.6Wh battery to up to 50% in 30 minutes.

However, the adapter is optional. You will only get a 35W power brick in the box. The one in the 10-core GPU variant features two USB-C ports to charge two devices simultaneously.

Rest of the Specs

The M2-powered Apple MacBook Air features a Magic Keyboard with a dedicated function row. It even has space for a Touch ID and a Force Touch trackpad.

Along with the new MacBook Air, Apple even announced macOS Ventura which will come later this year. It will come with a bunch of new features like Stage Manager, Continuity Camera and Handoff for FaceTime, along with substantial improvements to Safari, Mail, Messages, Spotlight, and more.
