Vivo Pad5 Pro launched with a MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset

0

It hasn’t been long since Vivo launched the X200 Ultra and X200s, and now they’ve already unveiled two new tablets. These are the Vivo Pad5 Pro and the Vivo Pad SE. In this article, we’ll focus only on the Vivo Pad5 Pro, including its features and the expected price in Nepal.

Vivo Pad5 Pro Overview

Design and Display

The Vivo Pad5 Pro looks sleek and stylish with a large 13-inch screen and a simple, clean back panel. It’s quite slim at just 6.07mm and weighs 635g, making it easy to carry. Vivo also offers a “feather-light” version, which gets even slimmer at 5.96mm and much lighter at 578g. The tablet supports a stylus, and if you want to boost productivity, there’s a Smart Touch Keyboard 5 Pro case that’s sold separately. It’s available in Cold Gray, Spring Tide Blue, Cloud Pink, and Feather Light White (the last one being exclusive to the lighter model).

Vivo Pad5 Pro Design

In the front, the screen resolution stands at 3,096 x 2,064 pixels, and it gets super bright with 1,200 nits. What makes it great for media consumption is the 10-bit color support, HDR10, and a super-smooth 144Hz refresh rate. Bezels are visible but not too distracting, with the aspect ratio of 3:2. Depending on the type of game, the tablet can switch between rendering at 3.1K or 2.4K at 120fps using super-resolution.

Performance and Battery

Inside, the Vivo Pad5 Pro features the strong and efficient MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chipset. It includes one high-speed Cortex X925 core at 3.63GHz, three Cortex X4 cores at 3.3GHz, and four Cortex A720 cores at 2.4GHz. For graphics, you get the Mali-G925 Immortalis MP12, which will handle the most demanding tasks with ease.

MediaTek Dimensity 9400 Rumors

You can choose between 8/12/16GB of RAM and 128/256/512GB of storage. The 128GB version uses UFS 3.1, but the 256GB and 512GB models come with the faster UFS 4.1, so data transfers will be noticeably quicker. On the software side, the device runs Origin OS 5 HD, which Vivo says brings PC-level office tools. That’s a big plus if you want to get work done on a tablet.  Powering all this is a large 12,050mAh battery that can last up to 16 hours of streaming. It supports 66W fast charging, so you can top it up pretty quickly.

Vivo Pad5 Pro features

Camera and Other Features

In the camera department, the Pad5 Pro has a 13MP rear camera that can shoot in 4K, and an 8MP front-facing camera for selfies or video calls. It supports modern connectivity options like Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, and a USB-C port that offers USB 3.2 Gen 1 speeds. The sound experience is excellent, thanks to an 8-speaker audio system. If you’re into movies or music, this really adds value. Plus, there’s a three-dimensional cooling system, which should help keep the tablet from overheating during heavy use.

Itel announces its budget A80 smartphone with a 50MP camera in Nepal!

0

Itel is a brand name that comes quite a lot in the budget smartphone space and now there’s a new model that’s up for grabs for an affordable ask. The Itel A80 is the successor to the A70 smartphone and brings a host of improvements from a faster display to a more capable camera system. In this article, we’ll briefly touch on the features and specifications of the item A80 alongside its price in Nepal and availability.

Itel A80 Overview

Design and Display

Despite being a budget phone, the Itel A80 looks quite presentable with its shimmery back and rounded corners. The smartphone is available in ‘Wave Blue’, ‘Glacial White’, and ‘Sandstone Black color options all of which have some sort of gradient going for them. The Blue looks the most intriguing to me with its radial lines and wavy aesthetics but the other two look just as good too. Itel A80 also sports an IP54 dust and water rating against debris and splashes.

Itel A80 Design

In terms of the display, you are getting an expansive 6.7-inch IPS screen that’s slightly larger than its predecessor. Though the resolution is still stuck at just 720p, there’s a big boost in refresh rate from a mere 60Hz to a smooth 120Hz which should provide noticeable improvement in terms of UI fluidity and responsiveness. The waterdrop notch is also replaced with a modern-looking hole punch but the brightness level is still capped at 500 nits.

Performance and Memory

Powering the A80 is the same chip Itel used in its predecessor. It’s the Unisoc T603 with eight ARM A55 cores running at up to 1.8GHz.  There’s not much information available online about the chip itself but Itel promises a “3 years lag-free” experience on the A80. Although we are not exactly sure what that means, the phone should handle your day-to-day activities like calls, texts, web browsing, and streaming just fine.

Itel A80 Features Set

There’s only a sole 4/128GB variant available in Nepal and you can use 4GB of your storage for up to a total of 8GB Extended RAM (4GB physical + 4 GB virtual). There’s also an SD card slot that can help you store your photos and videos up to a capacity of 2TB. The smartphone ships with Android 14 with Itel OS 14 on top.

Camera and Battery

There’s also a big improvement when it comes to the cameras as the A80 features a 50MP main shooter over the 13MP one in the A70. The secondary lens is just a 0.08MP auxiliary as usual but the look is more refined now accompanied by a ‘unique ring light’. Over on the front, you get a similar 8MP selfie cam, now housed inside the hole-punch instead of a waterdrop notch.

Powering the Itel smartphone is a typical 5000 mAh Lithium battery that accepts up to 10W of charging. The type-C at the bottom also supports data transfer at USB 2.0 speeds and there’s a headphone jack too. The smartphone features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for security and there’s a ‘Dynamic Bar’ for your essential notifications like battery status, calling, and unlocking.

Itel A80 Specifications:

  • Design: Rounded rectangle, All plastic, Rounded design
  • Display: 6.7-inch, 500 nits peak brightness, 120Hz
  • Resolution: HD+ (720  x 1600) resolution
  • Chipset: Octa-core T603
  • RAM: 4GB RAM
  • ROM: 128GB + 2 TB expandable storage
  • OS & UI: Android 14 with Itel OS 14 on top

Apple is relocating the search bar to the bottom of the screen from iOS 19

0

Apple is gearing up to unveil iOS 19 at WWDC in less than two months. And while many users are anticipating a refreshed design, one rumored change could have a major impact on usability, especially for those with larger iPhones. A simple tweak to the search bar’s location may make the iPhone feel more comfortable than ever. Let’s talk about it in detail.

iOS 19 update rumor

A change designed for bigger iPhones

As iPhones have gotten larger. Especially models like the iPhone 16 Pro and the upcoming iPhone 17 Air, reaching the top of the screen has become increasingly difficult (for someone like me with smaller hands). In iOS 18, the standard in-app search bar sits near the top, often requiring two hands or a thumb-stretching effort to access.

iOS 19 brings a search bar to the bottom of the screen
Image: Jon Prosser

That’s set to change in iOS 19. According to leaker Jon Prosser, Apple is relocating the search bar to the bottom of the screen, putting it right within reach of the user’s thumb. This ergonomic shift means searching in apps will now feel smoother, faster, and more natural.

Consistent access across apps

The new placement isn’t just about convenience, it’s about consistency. Prosser’s mockups show the search bar appearing at the bottom across different types of apps. In Messages, where the search bar currently hides behind a pull-down gesture, iOS 19 will make it permanently visible and easy to reach. Even apps that already have a bottom tab bar, like Apple Music and the App Store, will see this change. The relocated search bar will likely integrate seamlessly into these interfaces.

This move signals a broader functional redesign in iOS 19. It reflects an understanding of how users actually interact with large-screen phones today.

A redesign that matches modern usage

iOS hasn’t seen a major redesign since before iPhone screens got supersized. While visual polish is always welcome, it’s these kinds of usability-focused changes that can truly transform the experience. By bringing the search feature closer to where your fingers already are, Apple is showing a renewed focus on comfort and practicality.

It can study your running style, track how efficient you are, and even suggest workouts to burn fat faster based on your heart rate. Honestly, that makes it more than just a fitness tracker.

For health, the Vivo Watch 5 tracks heart rate, blood oxygen, stress, sleep, and even joins in blood pressure and heart health studies. It also supports Bluetooth calling, lets you control music, and shows notifications. Plus, there’s NFC for easy payments and GPS for tracking outdoor activities.

JBL says this speaker is eco-friendly, made with 77% post-consumer recycled plastic and 100% recycled fabric for the grille. The packaging is made from FSC-certified paper printed with soy ink.

Battery and connectivity

And now, it’s officially available in Nepal as well. This article will discuss everything about the latest JBL Flip 7, including its official price in Nepal.

JBL Flip 7 Overview

Sound and performance

The Flip 7 includes an independent tweeter, a race-track-shaped mid-bass driver, and dual passive radiators. These components work together to deliver a balanced sound with deep bass. JBL rates the total output power of the woofer at 25W and 10W for the tweeter. And as mentioned before, JBL’s new “AI Sound Boost” tech analyzes the playback quality in real-time to deliver better audio with less distortion.

The top features easy-to-use buttons for volume control and play/pause, while the side has a power button, Bluetooth controller, and an Auracast button for seamless connectivity.

On the back, you’ll find a USB-C charging port conveniently located next to the sleek gray lanyard, which can be swapped out for a carabiner using JBL’s “PushLock System”, adding even more versatility to this already impressive speaker.

JBL Flip 7 Design

The Flip 7 supports lossless audio via a USB Type-C input with a high-quality DAC. It offers up to 14 hours of playback, with a Playtime Boost feature that adds an extra 2 hours. Vivo X200s launched with a bigger battery and wireless charging

0

Vivo recently unveiled the X200 Ultra and X200s at a launch event in China. While the Ultra leads the lineup, the X200s brings notable upgrades over the standard X200, particularly in battery size, charging features, and chipset performance, without compromising on display or camera quality.

Vivo X200s Overview

Display and Camera

Vivo X200S Design and Display

It sports a 6.67-inch AMOLED display with a 1260 x 2800 resolution, 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ support, and up to 4,500 nits peak brightness. The camera system remains the same: a triple 50MP setup (wide, telephoto 3x zoom, and ultrawide) with Zeiss optics, laser autofocus, and advanced video support.

Battery and Charging

The Vivo X200s is equipped with a 6,200 mAh silicon-carbon battery—larger than the global X200’s 5,800 mAh and the Austria-only 5,220 mAh versions. Additionally, it introduces 40W wireless charging, a feature not present on the X200.

Performance

The phone runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ chipset, offering slight improvements over the standard Dimensity 9400. Benchmark reports suggest better sustained performance and efficiency gains.

Build and Software

The X200s features IP68/IP69 water and dust resistance. It ships with Android 15 and offers up to 4 major Android upgrades, using Funtouch OS 15 (International) or OriginOS 5 (China).

Is the Vivo X200s a Junior Model?

Despite what the name might suggest, the X200s is not a smaller or scaled-down version of the X200. Instead, it features several upgrades—most notably a larger battery, support for wireless charging, and a slightly refined processor. The display, camera setup, and build quality remain identical to the X200. The “S” designation follows Vivo’s pattern of releasing refined special editions, as seen in previous lineups like the X100s.

Vivo X200s Specifications

  • Display: 6.67” AMOLED, 120Hz, 1260 x 2800, HDR10+
  • Processor: MediaTek Dimensity 9400+ (3nm)

Vivo has launched the X200 Ultra in China. It comes as the successor to the X200 Pro, offering upgrades in display resolution, processor, and camera system. This article will discuss everything about the latest Vivo X200 Ultra, including its expected price in Nepal, specifications, and availability.

Vivo X200 Ultra Overview

Display and Design

The device features a 6.82-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 1440×3200 resolution. In addition, it supports a 120Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, and 3000 nits peak brightness. The back has a large circular camera module with a metal frame and curved glass.

Vivo X200 Ultra design The Vivo X200 Ultra features a versatile camera control button, notably including the long-awaited half-press functionality for focusing. In addition to this, the shutter key supports multiple operations: double-pressing to launch the camera, full-pressing to capture photos, sliding to zoom in or out, sliding to adjust exposure levels, and long-pressing to capture burst shots.

Processor and Performance

Vivo X200 Ultra runs on Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8 Elite processor. It replaces the MediaTek Dimensity 9400 chip found on the X200 Pro. Furthermore, it uses the Adreno 830 GPU and offers improved AI and performance efficiency.

Camera System

The Vivo X200 Ultra boasts a powerful camera system designed for photography enthusiasts. On the back, it features a triple camera setup comprising two 50MP Sony sensors with a 1/1.28-inch size—one being a 14mm f/2.0 ultra-wide lens and the other a 35mm f/1.69 portrait lens offering a shallow depth of field.

Both of these lenses come equipped with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS). The highlight is a massive 200MP Samsung HP9 sensor (1/1.4-inch) with an 85mm f/2.27 telephoto zoom lens, which also supports macro photography and OIS. On the front, there’s a sharp 50MP selfie camera.

For video capabilities, the phone supports 10-bit 4K video recording at 60 frames per second on all rear cameras, along with slow-motion recording at up to 4K at 120fps. Image processing is handled by two dedicated chips: the VS1 chip for RAW data pre-processing and the V3+ chip for post-processing tasks like filters and color correction.

The camera interface is also refined, featuring an enhanced shutter button for precise exposure and zoom control, inspired by the iPhone 16. Vivo offers a Photographer Kit as an optional add-on, which includes a grip with a dedicated video record button, a customizable settings dial, zoom control, and a 2,300mAh battery that supplements the phone’s built-in 6,000mAh battery.

Additionally, the kit includes a Zeiss 2.35x telephoto converter lens, which boosts the 200MP camera’s zoom from 3.7x to 8.7x using adapters. A shoulder strap and improved ergonomics are also part of the package

Battery and Charging

The phone includes a 6000mAh battery. It supports 90W wired charging and 40W wireless charging. The wired charging is slightly faster than the X200 Pro.

Software and Other Features

The phone ships with Android 15 and OriginOS 5. Additionally, Vivo promises four years of OS updates and five years of security patches. The 16GB/1TB variant includes Emergency SOS via satellite..
