Xiaomi’s sub-brand — Redmi has some of the most iconic smartphone series. This includes the likes of the K-series, the Note series, the numbered series and even the A-series of smartphones. Now, we are getting a separate “Turbo” series from Redmi and we are here to talk about it!

Redmi Turbo Series Overview

The announcement of the new Redmi Turbo series comes after the company outlined their plan for the coming decade. Additionally, the Xiaomi sub-brand also announced its new product matrix. This matrix gives us an idea of Redmi products’ hierarchy as well as the price bracket. Here is how all the Redmi series are lined up for the next 10 years:

Redmi Product Matrix

1. K-Series

Starting with the K-series, it’s the flagbearer of the Redmi brand. The series started as the flagship killer and slowly moved into the flagship space itself. Hence, you can expect K-series phones to include high-end flagship phones with almost no compromise in tech and performance.

2. Turbo Series

The new Redmi Turbo series sits right behind the top-of-the-line K-series. Meaning — this series will have the upper midrange phones that blur the line between flagships and midrange. So basically, the Redmi Turbo series will be filling the vacant space left by the K-series, after it shifted into the flagship space.

3. Note Series

Moving on, the Note series is hands down the most popular series from the brand. It sits under the Redmi Turbo series in the matrix, at a more comfortable midrange space. The entire Redmi Note 13 series — especially the Pro+ variant — was perfectly balanced. So much so, that it’s hard to make a case against them.

Redmi Note series will continue on this trajectory and provide well-balanced phones with flagship-inspired features in a midrange price bracket.

4. Number Series

Next up is the Redmi’s titular numbered series. It consists of and will continue to have affordable phones. As per the company, they aim to raise the industry standard for the basic functionality of a smartphone with this series. Thus, we can expect them to continue offering quality features at a pocket-friendly price point.

5. A-Series?

The company skipped mentioning anything about the Redmi A-series in their announcement. This series operates a price tag that the other companies have long ditched and forgotten. So, does this mean Redmi is walking the same road? Or there isn’t anything interesting to share about the series? I guess, we will just have to wait and see.

On a side note, the latest entry in the series — the Redmi A3 was quite a good package. Why not take some time to read our review of the phone?

First Entry in the series: Redmi Turbo 3?

As it stands, the first entry in the series is set to be the Redmi Turbo 3! Now, a straight jump to the number “3” seems uncalled for on the surface. However, we did get the Turbo 1 and 2. But as the Redmi Note 11T Pro and the Redmi Note 12 Turbo. So, technically we are in fact on the third iteration of the Turbo series. This should also mean that the Redmi Note 13 Turbo will just be the Redmi Turbo 3 instead.

Redmi Turbo 3 Marketing

While on the subject of Redmi Turbo 3, the phone will possibly carry on the exterior of the Redmi Note 13 Pro+ and opt for the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 on the inside. This phone reportedly scored an AnTuTu score of over 1.7 million during the lab test. Therefore, the Redmi Turbo 3 will come with flagship-like performance, while sitting on the budget space.

Redmi Turbo Series: Conclusion

The Redmi Note series was getting convoluted with all the Pro, Pro+, T, and Turbo variants. Therefore, by separating the “Turbo” from the Note series and creating an entirely new series — it clears up a lot of confusion. On top of that, it also opens up wider marketing and sales opportunities for the company. Lastly, as a consumer, it is good to have great products with easier names to remember.
