Best Mobile Phones Under Rs. 50,000 in Nepal [Updated 2020]

Best phones under NPR 50000 in Nepal (November 2020) smartphones 50 thousand 50K oppo vivo samsung xiaomi

Inside this vast sea of phones in the market, it’s only natural to find an overwhelming number of choices! And those choices are made trickier by the price ranges available in the market. This is a list of one of the trickiest price segments there is – under Rs. 50,000. Because, well, this is a category that’s more than mid-range yet less than the premium mid-rangers. So, here is our list of best phones NPR 50000 in Nepal.

6. Vivo V19

Vivo V19 Piano Black

Starting our list of best phones under NPR 50000 in Nepal is the Vivo V19. It ranks the design, display, and cameras above everything elsewhich is a recurring theme in practically every other entry in this list. Unlike the Indonesian variant, the global edition of Vivo V19 comes with dual front-facing cameras. It has a 32MP primary sensor alongside an 8MP ultrawide angle camera arranged inside a pill-shaped cutout on the top right corner of the display, which is a deviation from the cool pop-up mechanism.

48MP quad-cameras

At the back, you have the quad-camera arrangement led by a 48MP main sensor, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP duo of macro and depth camera. However, we would’ve loved to see a useful telephoto lens instead of the macro, depth sensor. Getting to the display, you get a 6.44-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED panel with HDR10 certification and a regular 60Hz refresh rate. The display also incorporates an optical in-display fingerprint sensor.

Talking about the performance, the Vivo V19 is powered by the Snapdragon 712 which doesn’t seem fit for the price. However, we were quite surprised to see how well optimized it was and thus got decent performance. This swiftness in performance is also thanks to 8GB of RAM while you get either 128 or 256GB of storage. Vivo V19 has a decent 4500mAh battery that supports 33W Vivo FlashCharge 2.0. Consequently, it is one of the fastest one available among the phones in this list of best phones under NPR 50000 in Nepal.

5. OPPO Reno3

OPPO Reno3 Aurora Blue

The next entry in our list of best phones under NPR 50000 in Nepal is OPPO Reno3. Like always, the cameras are the main highlights of this phone. The Reno3 has an impressive quad-camera setup at the back, which comprises a 48MP primary lens, a 13MP telephoto lens with 5X hybrid zoom, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, and finally a 2MP B/W monochrome lens. The selfie camera, on the other hand, is a big 44MP lens housed inside the small waterdrop notch on top of the display.

Helio P90

In our test, the cameras produce decent images, so that’s nice. In terms of performance, the OPPO Reno3 is powered by the Helio P90 chipset. That’s a pretty good mid-range but it’s in no way on par with the ones from Qualcomm, namely the Snapdragon 730/G or the new 765/G. Anyways, it’s coupled with 8GB of RAM and has 128GB of internal storage. With its admirable cameras and good-enough performance, the OPPO Reno3 takes the 5th spot in our list of top smartphones under 50000 in Nepal.

Another impressive thing about the Reno3 is the Hidden Fingerprint Unlock 3.0, which the company claims can unlock the phone in about 0.34 seconds. Moving to the battery, the OPPO Reno3 has a 4,025mAh cell, that supports VOOC 3.0 quick charging. The battery capacity doesn’t sound like much but during our test, we consistently managed to get a day’s juice on the Reno3. The phone can also go from 0-100% juice in just 70 minutes.

OPPO Reno3 Specifications:

  • Body: 6.31 x 2.89 x 0.31 inches, 170 gm
  • Display: 6.4-inches AMOLED panel, 411PPI

4. OPPO F17 Pro

OPPO F17 Pro Matte Black

The next entry in our list of best phones under NPR 50000 in Nepal is the new OPPO F17 Pro. The company’s fashion-first “F” series of smartphones was scrapped a while ago and we were quite shocked to see OPPO launch the F15 not that long ago. Here, the F17 Pro is the next-in-line sleek phone from the company. Interestingly, it is the lightest phone under the entire F-series, weighing just 164 grams. It is quite sleek at 7.48mm, and overall, the F17 Pro feels very comfortable on the hand, and the pocket.

Sleek, lightweight

Like every other device on this list, this one comes with an AMOLED panel as well. You get a 6.43-inches AMOLED screen with FHD+ resolution and the standard 60Hz refresh rate. The display is protected by Gorilla Glass 3 and has a small dual punch-hole cutout for the front cameras. Despite this, the F17 Pro manages to record an incredible 90.67% screen-to-body ratio. Talking about cameras, the aforementioned cutout encloses a 16MP Sony primary lens and a 2MP depth sensor.

Moving to the back, we can see the iPhone-like camera module. Its quad-camera setup consists of a 48MP primary shooter, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and two 2MP mono cameras. That’s quite regrettable since most of us would’ve loved to see a telephoto lens instead. Powering the phone is the Helio P95 SoC, which has been paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The phone gets its juice from a decent 4015mAh battery that supports 30W VOOC Flash Charge 4.0.

OPPO F17 Pro Specifications:

  • Body: 6.30 x 2.91 x 0.30 inches, 164 gm, Gorilla Glass 3
  • Display: 6.43-inches Super AMOLED panel, 408PPI, Gorilla Glass 3
  • Resolution: FHD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels), 20:9 aspect ratio

  • Storage: 128GB UFS 2.1 (expandable via a Micro SD card)
  • Software & UI: ColorOS 7.2 on top of Android 10

    – 48MP primary camera, f/1.8
    – 8MP ultra-wide lens, f/2.2, 16mm

    – 2MP, f/2.4 mono camera
    – LED flash

3. Mi Note 10 Lite

Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite Nebula Purple

Xiaomi Nepal is mostly known for its excellent budget and mid-range smartphones. However, breaking that tradition, the company launched its flagship Mi 10 and the new Mi Note 10 Lite in Nepal some time ago. The latter features quite a unique design choice for a mid-range device; with its slightly curved display and back panel. Besides giving a more premium look, it also makes for a better grip. The front-camera sits inside a tiny waterdrop notch, though we would’ve liked a punch-hole implementation instead.

First thing, the phone has a manageably appropriate 6.47-inches AMOLED panel with HDR10 support and 430 nits of typical brightness. Therefore, content consumption on the Mi Note 10 Lite will be a great experience. In terms of performance, the phone is powered by the Snapdragon 730G chipset, which is a gaming-centric SoC. That has been coupled with either 6/8 of RAM with up to 128GB of non-expandable storage. Thankfully, both variants have been made available in Nepal.

64MP Sony IMX686 sensor!

Another highlight of the phone is its quad-camera setup. It has the flagship 64MP Sony IMX686 sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, a 5MP depth sensor, and a 2MP macro lens. And there are also a ton of camera features like a dedicated “Vlog Mode” to make use of the camera sensors. Similarly, the phone’s 16MP selfie-shooter has been placed inside the teardrop notch. Furthermore, Mi Note 10 Lite has a pretty big 5260mAh battery that supports 30W fast charging. Thus, with its premium design, great camera, and decent performance the Mi Note 10 Lite takes the third spot in our list of best phones under NPR 50000 in Nepal.

Mi Note 10 Lite Specifications:

  • Body: 6.21 x 2.92 x 0.38 inches, 204 gm, Gorilla Glass 5
  • Display: 6.47-inches Super AMOLED panel, 398PPI, Gorilla Glass 5
  • Resolution: FHD+ (2340 x 1080 pixels), 19.5:9 aspect ratio
  • Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 730G (8nm Mobile Platform)
  • CPU: Octa-core (2×2.2 GHz Kryo 470 Gold & 6×1.8 GHz Kryo 470 Silver)
  • GPU: Adreno 618
  • RAM: 6/8GB
  • Storage: 64/128GB UFS 2.1 (non-expandable)
  • Software & UI: MIUI 12 on top of Android 10
  • Rear Camera: Quad-camera;
    – 64MP primary camera, f/1.9
    – 8MP ultra-wide lens, f/2.2
    – 2MP, f/2.4 macro camera
    – 5MP, f/2.4 depth sensor
    – Quad-LED flash
  • Front Camera: 16MP f/2.5 sensor
  • Security: In-display fingerprint scanner (optical)
  • Audio: 3.5mm headphone jack, loudspeaker
  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (dual-band), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS / AGPS / Glonass / Galileo / BDS, USB Type-C, 4G LTE

2. Samsung Galaxy A71

Samsung Galaxy A71 Prism Crush Silver

Belonging to Samsung’s new #AWESOME generation of smartphones, the Galaxy A71 brings the “best” of the company. By best, I mean the similar design choices that we’ve seen in the latest S20 series. The A71 skips Samsung’s homegrown Exynos chipset for a decent midrange one from Qualcomm which is a nice touch. Still, the area where the Galaxy A71 shines the brightest is definitely the design, display, and cameras.

Big AMOLED display

Starting with the display, you get a tall 6.7-inches AMOLED panel with a tiny punch-hole cutout for the 32MP selfie camera. No, it’s not notch-less like in the Redmi K20 Pro (which we had to remove from the list since it is no longer available), or the Vivo V17 Pro. But let me tell ya, it’s the next best thing. Talking about cameras, Samsung has deployed a quad-camera setup at the back, with a 64MP main shooter, a 12MP super wide-angle lens, a 5MP macro lens, and a 5MP depth sensor.

And like how we’ve consistently been impressed with cameras on Samsung’s mid-range smartphones, this one doesn’t disappoint either. The Galaxy A71 is powered by the Snapdragon 730, which is a decent mid-range SoC. And that is coupled with either 6/8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Because of all this, the Samsung Galaxy A71 takes the number 2 spot on our list of best phones under NPR 50000 in Nepal.

Samsung Galaxy A71 Specifications:

  • Body: 6.44 x 2.99 x 0.30 inches, 179 gm, Gorilla Glass 3
  • Display: 6.7-inches Super AMOLED panel, 393PPI, Gorilla Glass 3
  • Resolution: FHD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels), 20:9 aspect ratio
  • Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 (8nm Mobile Platform)
  • CPU: Octa-core (2×2.2 GHz Kryo 470 Gold & 6×1.8 GHz Kryo 470 Silver)
  • GPU: Adreno 618
  • RAM: 6/8GB
  • Storage: 128GB UFS 2.1 (expandable via Micro SD card)
  • Software & UI: OneUI 2.5 on top of Android 10
  • Rear Camera: Quad-camera;
    – 64MP primary camera, f/1.8
    – 12MP ultra-wide lens, f/2.2
    – 5MP, f/2.4 macro camera
    – 5MP, f/2.4 depth sensor
    – LED flash
  • Front Camera: 32MP f/2.2 sensor
  • Security: In-display fingerprint scanner (optical)
  • Audio: 3.5mm headphone jack, loudspeaker
  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (dual-band), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS / AGPS / Glonass / Galileo / BDS, USB Type-C, 4G LTE

1. Vivo V20

Vivo V20 Sunset Melody

Finally, the number one spot on our list goes to the new Vivo V20. Overall, it’s such a sharp deviation from the past V-series of smartphones from the company, and we couldn’t be happier with the changes. V20 uses a matte glass design which feels so premium on the hand while looking equally stunning. It is available in either Midnight Jazz or Sunset Melody options in Nepal, and both are an absolute eye-candyespecially the latter. Its rear camera module has also been inspired by Vivo’s premium X50 series.

Top-notch cameras

Excellent design aside, Vivo V20’s cameras are excellent as well and can give you a better photo compared to any other smartphones on this list. That’s quite high remarks, but hey, it’s just that good. Its triple camera setup consists of a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. Coming to the front, it has a 44MP selfie camera and the selfie images are equally amazing. However, we would’ve preferred a punch-hole or a motorized implementation instead of a tear-drop notch.

In terms of performance, Vivo V20 is powered by the Snapdragon 720G, which can be found in mid-range phones like the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max. While we realize that’s not very competitive for a 50K price range, it’s really not that bad for everyday usageespecially with its 8GB of RAM onboard. Plus, the new FuntouchOS 11 based on Android 11 is exceptionally well-designed. To note, Vivo V20 is also the first phone in Nepal to come with Android 11 out-of-the-box.

Likewise, the performance difference between the Snapdragon 730/G and this one is almost negligible. The phone has a decent 4000mAh battery which doesn’t sound like a lot, but during our test, we consistently managed to get 7-8 hours of screen time. It charges quite fast as well, thanks to the 33W flash charging.

Vivo V20 Specifications:

  • Body: 6.35 x 2.92 x 0.29 inches, 171 gm
  • Display: 6.7-inches AMOLED panel, 409PPI
  • Resolution: FHD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels), 20:9 aspect ratio
  • Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G (8nm Mobile Platform)
  • CPU: Octa-core (2×2.3 GHz Kryo 465 Gold & 6×1.8 GHz Kryo 465 Silver)
  • GPU: Adreno 618
  • RAM: 8GB
  • Storage: 128/256GB UFS 2.1 (expandable via Micro SD card)
  • Software & UI: FuntouchOS 11 on top of Android 11
  • Rear Camera: Triple-camera;
    – 64MP primary camera, f/1.9, Motion AF, Eye AF, Body/Object AF
    – 8MP multi-function lens (wide-angle, macro, bokeh), f/2.2
    – 2MP, f/2.4 monochrome sensor
    – Dual-LED flash
  • Front Camera: 44MP f/2.0 sensor, Eye AF
  • Security: In-display fingerprint scanner (optical)
  • Audio: 3.5mm headphone jack, loudspeaker
  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (dual-band), Bluetooth 5.1, GPS / Glonass / Glonass / Beidou / NavIC (India-only) , USB Type-C, 4G LTE
  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Ambient light, Proximity, E-compass, Gyroscope
  • Battery: 4000mAh with 33W Flash Charge
