With a ton of choices, buying a smartphone can become a confusing adventure to many. And in the Nepali market, the 50,000 price bracket is probably the trickiest of them all. Because, well, this is a category that’s more than mid-range yet less than the premium mid-rangers. So oftentimes, most phones in this range don’t find the right balance between price and overall performance. To help you with your purchase decision, here is our list of best phones NPR 50000 in Nepal.

8. OPPO F19 Pro

OPPO F19 Pro - Fantastic Purple best phones under 50000 in nepal

Kicking off our list of best phones under NPR 50000 in the OPPO F19 Pro. Like every other in the company’s “F” series of smartphones, the F19 Pro prioritizes design and cameras everything else. Here, the phone is just 7.8mm thick and weighs 172 grams only.

As a result, if you want a phone that’s easier on the pocket, this is a decent option. Plus, OPPO Nepal has currently discounted the phone by Rs. 3,000 as well.

In terms of cameras, there’s a 48MP quad-camera setup at the back. Other lenses include 8MP ultrawide, a 2MP depth, and a 2MP macro sensor. However, Oppo has ditched a depth sensor on the front on this iteration compared to the dual front-camera setup on last year’s F17 Pro. Besides this, there’s not much to talk about the Oppo F19 Pro.

Powering the phone is the same ol’ Helio P95 chipset. This has been paired with 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of expandable internal storage. Its 6.43″ AMOLED screen doesn’t bring a smoother 90/120Hz refresh rate either. Oppo F19 gets its juice from a moderate 4310mAh battery that supports 30W charging.

OPPO F19 Pro Specifications:

  • Display: 6.43-inches 60Hz FHD+ Super AMOLED, 409 PPI
  • Chipset: MediaTek Helio P95 (12nm Mobile Platform)
  • Memory: 8GB RAM, 128/256GB storage (expandable)
  • Software & UI: Android 11 with ColorOS 11.1

7. Samsung Galaxy M62

Samsung Galaxy M62 - Laser Blue

Heading up the top 7 entries in our list of best phones under NPR 50000 in Nepal is Samsung’s Galaxy M62. Like how the Oppo F19 Pro emphasized design and cameras, Samsung does so in the battery and performance department.

M62’s 7000mAh battery will easily last a couple of days making it a reliable phone to have with you. However, the phone can only take up to 25W of power at a time.

As a result, it takes a little over 2 hours to fully juice it up. On the performance side of things, Samsung has gone with Exynos 9825. To recall, this is the same chipset the company used in its 2019’s flagship phones like the Galaxy Note 10 series. Complemented by 6/8GB of RAM onboard, the M62 is one of the best-performing phones for its price—although definitely not the best.

Upfront, it has a big 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus screen with a 60Hz refresh rate. A higher refresh rate would’ve made things more appealing to the mobile gamers too but here we are. Other highlights of the Galaxy M62 include a quad-camera setup at the back consisting of a 64MP primary, a 12MP ultrawide, a 5MP depth, and a 5MP macro camera.

Samsung Galaxy M62 Specifications:

  • Display: 6.7-inches 60Hz FHD+ Super AMOLED Plus, 393 PPI
  • Chipset: Exynos 9825 (7nm Mobile Platform)
  • Memory: 6/8GB RAM, 128GB storage (expandable)
  • Software & UI: Android 11 with One UI 3.1
  • Rear Camera: Quad (64MP main, 12MP ultrawide, 5MP depth, 5MP macro)
  • Front Camera: 32MP sensor (punch-hole)
  • Fingerprint sensor: Physical (side-mounted)
  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS / A-GPS / Glonass / Galileo / Beidou, USB-C
  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Proximity, Gyro, Ambient Light, Geomagnetic
  • Battery: 7000mAh battery with 25W Charging

6. Vivo V20

Vivo V20 Sunset Melody best phones under 50000 in nepal

Likewise, the sixth spot on our list of best phones under NPR 50000 in Nepal goes to the Vivo V20. Overall, it’s such a sharp deviation from the past V-series of smartphones from the company, and we couldn’t be happier with the changes.

V20 uses a matte glass design that feels so premium on the hand while looking equally stunning. Excellent design aside, Vivo V20’s cameras are excellent as well

Its triple camera setup consists of a 64MP primary, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 2MP depth sensor. Coming to the front, it has a 44MP selfie camera and the selfie images are equally amazing. However, we would’ve preferred a punch-hole or a motorized implementation instead of a tear-drop notch. Moreover, both front and back cameras support Eye AutoFocus (AF) for sharper, on-focus shots.

In terms of performance, Vivo V20 is powered by the Snapdragon 720G, which can be found in mid-range phones like the Redmi Note 9 Pro Max. The phone has a decent 4000mAh battery which doesn’t sound like a lot, but during our test, we consistently managed to get 7-8 hours of screen time. It charges quite fast as well, thanks to the 33W flash charging.

Vivo V20 Specifications:

  • Display: 6.44-inches 60Hz FHD+ AMOLED, 409 PPI
  • Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G (8nm Mobile Platform)
  • Memory: 8GB RAM, 128/256GB storage (expandable)
  • Software & UI: Android 11 with FuntouchOS 11
  • Rear Camera: Triple (64MP main, 8MP ultrawide/maco/bokeh, 2MP B&W)
  • Front Camera: 44MP sensor (notch)
  • Fingerprint sensor: In-display (optical)
  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS / A-GPS / Glonass / Galileo / Beidou, USB-C
  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Proximity, Gyro, E-Compass, Ambient Light
  • Battery: 4000mAh battery with 33W Charging
  • Price in Nepal: Rs. 44,990 (8/128GB)

5. OnePlus Nord CE

OnePlus Nord CE - Blue Void best phones under 50000 in nepal

The first-gen OnePlus Nord from 2020 created hype like no other phone has been able to in the past couple of years. And the company recently followed that up with a “Core Edition” device.

According to OnePlus, the Nord CE aims to deliver all the “core” experiences of the original Nord at a more affordable price. For the most part, it delivers on that promise pretty well.

Nord CE brings a plastic body and is relatively lightweight. Its hands-on feel is pretty great as well. But unlike its predecessor, OnePlus has skipped on a Gorilla Glass protection at the back here. Upfront, the 6.4″ AMOLED panel looks vibrant and can get fairly bright enough as well.

It is void of Gorilla Glass protection but OnePlus has tried to make up for the fact with AGC Dragontrail glass. On the other hand, Nord CE revives a 3.5mm audio jack while losing out on a stereo speaker setup. In terms of performance, it is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 750G.

This has been paired with up to 12GB LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 2.1 storage. The phone handles light to medium usage perfectly fine although it does struggle under heavy games like Genshin Impact and PUBG Mobile. OnePlus Nord CE’s triple camera setup at the back shoots decent photos with closer-to-natural colors.

OnePlus Nord CE Specifications:

  • Display: 6.43-inches 90Hz FHD+ AMOLED, 410 PPI
  • Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G 5G (8nm Mobile Platform)
  • Memory: 6/8/12GB RAM, 128/256GB storage (expandable)
  • Software & UI: Android 11 with OxygenOS 11
  • Rear Camera: Triple (64MP main, 8MP ultrawide, 2MP mono)
  • Front Camera: 16MP sensor (punch-hole)
  • Fingerprint sensor: In-display (optical)
  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS / A-GPS / Glonass / Galileo / Beidou / NavIC, USB-C, 5G
  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Electronic compass, Gyroscope, Ambient light, Proximity, Sensor core

4. Samsung Galaxy A52

Samsung Galaxy A52 Awesome Black

Moving on, the Galaxy A52 also makes its way among our choices of best phones under NPR 50000 in Nepal. Compared to its predecessor, Samsung has made a lot of upgrades on the A52. But right now, finding this phone in stock might be a bit of a struggle.

Anyway, from a premium new design to better cameras to practically everything else, there are a lot of necessary upgrades here coming from last year’s Samsung Galaxy A51.

Starting with the design itself, A52 is among the handful of smartphones on our list to feature an IP67 dust/water resistance. Therefore, you won’t need to worry about getting the phone wet or accidentally dropping it in a pool of water. Additionally, the matte-like finish at the back and the pastel color options look pretty beautiful. On the performance front, A52 is powered by Snapdragon 720G alongside 8GB of RAM and 128GB storage.

In terms of display, Samsung has upgraded to a higher refresh rate on this device as well. This 6.5″ Super AMOLED screen now refreshes at 90Hz for a smoother smartphone experience. Plus, the screen is also protected by Gorilla Glass 5 and includes SGS Eye Comfort Shield technology too. On the camera side of things, its 64MP primary camera also brings OIS support.

Samsung Galaxy A52 Specifications:

  • Display: 6.5-inches 90Hz FHD+ Super AMOLED, 393 PPI, Gorilla Glass 5
  • Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G (8nm Mobile Platform)
  • Memory: 4/6/8GB RAM, 128/256GB storage (expandable)
  • Software & UI: Android 11 with One UI 3.1
  • Rear Camera: Quad (64MP main, 12MP ultrawide, 5MP depth, 5MP macro)
  • Front Camera: 32MP sensor (punch-hole)
  • Fingerprint sensor: In-display (optical)
  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS / A-GPS / Glonass / Galileo / Beidou, USB-C
  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Proximity, Gyro, Hall, Light, Geomagnetic
  • Battery: 4500mAh battery with 25W Charging
  • Price in Nepal: Rs. 41,999 (8/128GB)

3. Vivo V21

Vivo V21 - Sunset Dazzle

Taking the bronze medal in our list of best phones under NPR 50000 in Nepal goes to the new Vivo V21. Like the V20 above, this phone introduces an excellent design and cameras. This phone has an AG Matte Glass finish at the back which is impervious to fingerprints or smudges.

Also, its subtle gradient color options (especially the Sunset Dazzle) look quite stunning. As a result, Vivo V21 is a decent choice for those who want premium-looking on a non-flagship price point.

Still, the company’s indifference to moving away from the notched cutout is quite baffling. Even budget phones feature a modern punch-hole cutout these days. Therefore, this 6.44″ 90Hz AMOLED panel loses its supposed premium-ness with this design choice. Anyway, one of the biggest selling points of V21 is its 44MP selfie camera with OIS and dual-flash. With this, you’ll be able to take sharp, well-lit selfies even when it’s dark.

At the back, it borrows a similar triple-camera array as its predecessor. The 44MP primary sensor also boasts OIS for stable photos/videos. While the phone is capable of recording up to 4K/30fps videos, they’re void of OIS. On the performance side of things, Vivo V21 brings Dimensity 800U 5G chipset from MediaTek. However, the variant available in Nepal isn’t 5G-capable. Fueling the phone is a 4000mAh battery with 33W fast charging.

Vivo V21 Specifications:

  • Display: 6.44-inches 90Hz FHD+ AMOLED, 409 PPI
  • Chipset: MediaTek Dimensity 800U 5G (7nm Mobile Platform)
  • Memory: 8GB RAM, 128/256GB storage (expandable)
  • Software & UI: Android 11 with FuntouchOS 11
  • Rear Camera: Triple (64MP main, 8MP ultrawide/bokeh, 2MP super macro)
  • Front Camera: 44MP sensor, OIS (notch)
  • Fingerprint sensor: In-display (optical)
  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS / A-GPS / Glonass / Galileo / Beidou, USB-C
  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Ambient Light, Proximity, E-compass, Gyroscope
  • Battery: 4000mAh battery with 33W Charging
  • Price in Nepal: Rs. 49,999 (8/128GB)

2. POCO F3

POCO F3 - Deep Ocean Blue best phones under 50000 in Nepal

Similarly, the silver medal for our pick of best phones under NPR 50000 in Nepal goes to the new POCO F3. Above all, Xiaomi Nepal deserves some serious credit for bringing such in-demand phones in the country at a pretty comparable price.

And here, the POCO F3 is undoubtedly one of the best value-for-money phones you could buy under 50K in Nepal. That’s primarily because of its high-performance Snapdragon 870 chipset.

Here, although Qualcomm simply rehashed last year’s Snapdragon 865+ with a slight boost in clock frequency, the 870 is still flagship-grade silicon. Still, it doesn’t quite compare to this year’s flagship chipset from the company. Besides this, the phone brings 6 or 8GB of LPDDR5 RAM and either 128 or 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.

All of this easily makes POCO F3 the best-performing phone in its class—and therefore also the best gaming phone under NPR 50000 in Nepal. Similarly, it brings a pretty impressive display as well. You get a 6.67 AMOLED screen a 120Hz refresh rate and Corning’s Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

But despite housing an OLED display, POCO has implemented a side-mounted fingerprint sensor here. While the performance aspect of the device is solid as a rock, its cameras are sub-par only. You get a triple camera setup consisting of a 48MP main, an 8MP ultrawide, and a 5MP tele-macro sensor. Not to forget, it lacks OIS as well.

POCO F3 Specifications:

  • Display: 6.67-inches 120Hz FHD+ AMOLED, 395 PPI, Gorilla Glass 5
  • Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 (7nm Mobile Platform)
  • Memory: 6/8GB LPDDR5 RAM, 128/256GB UFS 3.1 storage (fixed)
  • Software & UI: Android 11 with MIUI 12 for POCO
  • Rear Camera: Triple (48MP main, 8MP ultrawide, 5MP telemacro)
  • Front Camera: 20MP sensor (punch-hole)
  • Fingerprint sensor: Side-mounted
  • Connectivity: Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax (dual-band), Bluetooth 5.1, GPS / Glonass / Galileo / Beidou / NavIC, USB-C, 5G
  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Proximity, Gyro, Hall, Ambient light, Electronic compass
  • Battery: 4520mAh battery with 33W Charging
  • Price in Nepal: Rs. 46,999 (6/128GB)

1. Samsung Galaxy M52 5G

Samsung Galaxy M52 5G - White best phones under 50000 in nepal

And taking the number one spot in our list of best phones under NPR 50000 in Nepal goes to the new Samsung Galaxy M52 5G. Compared to the M62 above, this one’s quite a different entry in the company’s Galaxy M lineup.

By that, I mean how Samsung has installed a relatively small 5000mAh battery on this phone—while we’re used to seeing even a 7000mAh battery in this lineup.

As a result, the Galaxy M52 5G is one of the most lightweight Samsung phones you could find right now. Plus, the phone measures just 7.4mm thick. All in all, despite being a big phone, M52 doesn’t feel nearly as bulky or uncomfortable in the hands—although I will say that it is a bit wide. Apart from the comfortable build quality, this phone has competent specs in other departments as well.

A capable chipset

For starters, it is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 778G 5G chipset with 6/8GB RAM and 128GB of internal storage. While it doesn’t compare against POCO F3’s Snapdragon 870, this is more than capable for all your medium to even demanding workloads. And it brings a decent camera setup as well, which includes a 64MP primary, a 12MP ultrawide, and a 5MP macro lens.

In our brief time with the phone so far, we’ve been impressed with its photography capabilities. But since it lacks OIS like the more expensive Galaxy A52s 5G, videos come off rather shaky. Anyway, M52 also has a sweet 6.7″ Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate although it doesn’t embed an optical fingerprint reader. Here, Samsung has provided a side-mounted fingerprint scanner instead.

Samsung Galaxy M52 5G Specifications:

  • Display: 6.7-inches 120Hz FHD+ Super AMOLED Plus, 393 PPI, Gorilla Glass 5
  • Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G 5G (6nm Mobile Platform)
  • Memory: 6/8GB LPDDR4X RAM, 128GB UFS 2.1 storage (expandable)
  • Software & UI: Android 11 with One UI 3.1
  • Rear Camera: Triple (64MP main, 12MP ultrawide, 5MP macro)
  • Front Camera: 32MP sensor (punch-hole)
  • Fingerprint sensor: Side-mounted
  • Connectivity: Hybrid Dual-SIM (Nano), WiFi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax (dual-band), Bluetooth 5.0, GPS / Glonass / Galileo / Beidou / QZSS, NFC, USB-C, 5G
  • Sensors: Accelerometer, Proximity, Gyro, Compass
  • Battery: 5000mAh battery with 25W Charging
  • Price in Nepal: Rs. 48,999 (6/128GB)
