A brief history

The Magic Mouse sports a button-less design with no scroll wheels in sight. You control it via touch and swipes much like a trackpad. Apple’s Magic Mouse 2 works seamlessly with devices running MacOS and iPadOS plays nicely with it as well. Windows laptops will recognize the device and pair via Bluetooth but you’ll have to tweak around and download 3rd party software to get it working properly. Compatible versions include MacOS X 10.11, iPadOS 13.4 and later.

Charging and battery life

While the first Magic Mouse used AA batteries, version 2 houses a rechargeable lithium cell inside that you charge via a Lighting cable. As the port is on the bottom side of the mouse, the device remains unusable during charging. Users report 3-4 weeks of battery life on a full charge.
