The Snapdragon 8s Elite is expected to feature a 1+3+2+2 core configuration, consisting of one Cortex-X4 core clocked at 3.21GHz, three Cortex-A720 cores running at 3.01GHz, two Cortex-A720 cores at 2.80GHz, and two additional Cortex-A720 cores at 2.02GHz. We are slowly but steadily covering all the new laptop launches at CES, and now it’s time for one of our all-time favorite midrange gaming laptops: the Legion Pro 5 series. For 2025, we are getting a refresh to the internal processors so let’s talk about them here. We will shortly cover the features, and full specifications, alongside the expected price in Nepal and availability of the Lenovo Legion Pro 5 and Pro 5i (2025).

Lenovo Legion Pro 5 (2025) Series Overview

Design and Display

The new Legion Pro 5 series doesn’t feature a complete re-design of the outer chassis unlike the Legion Pro 7i which has a full-width exhaust at its tail and moves ports to the sides. It’s got a similar look to its predecessor with ports distributed on the sides as well as the back. The Legion is only going to be available in a single ‘Eclipse Black’ color option.

The display does get a massive upgrade though. For the first time ever, you can equip the Lenovo Legion Pro 5 (Gen 10) with an OLED screen. It goes up to a 16” WQXGA screen with up to 240Hz refresh rate, 500 nits of brightness, and less than 0.5 ms of response time. The OLED is a super choice for gamers due to its deeper contrast, and ultrafast response times while the high brightness and vibrant colors will make for a gorgeous media experience.

Legion Pro 5 (AMD) and Legion Pro 5i (Intel) Gen 10

As you might have guessed, we see new AMD and Intel processors on the Legion 5 Pros. On the red team, you get up to a Ryzen 9 9955HX but not the X3D version. I suppose Lenovo is saving the Ryzen 9 9955HX3D for its Legion Pro 7 Gen 10 but there are no words on that yet.

On the Intel side, it goes up to the Core Ultra 9 275HX Arrow Lake processor with 24 cores and threads with a boost clock of 5.4 GHz. Here too, Lenovo seems to be skipping out on the top-of-the-line Ultra 9 285HX but it’s a more reasonable choice since the two only differ by slightly different clock speeds.

For running games and graphically demanding applications, the Legion Pros ship with NVIDIA’s 50 series Maxwell GPUs with options up to the RTX 5070 on the Pro 7 and the RTX 5070 Ti on the Pro 7i. The latter has 50% more VRAM and can operate at up to 140W. There’s also Lenovo’s AI engine with its LA1 and LA3 chips that optimize settings in real time to achieve optimal performance. It’s all kept cool by Lenovo’s Coldfront Hyper tech which we saw perform pretty well in the last-gen Pros as well.

Memory and Connectivity

Just like previous generations, there are 2 SO-DIMM slots for your DDR5 sticks but now you can get up to 32GB of fast 6400 RAM. The SSD speed and configurations remain the same though at up to 2TB PCIe Gen 4 via the dual M.2 slots in the board. As for the ports, there’s an HDMI 2.1 and power connector at the back, with the dual type-C, triple type-A, ethernet, privacy switch, and audio jack on the sides. This year we also get to see the upgrade to faster WiFi 7 alongside Bluetooth 5.4.

The Legion Pro 5 and Pro 5i (2025) both house 80Wh batteries but the Intel version is fed more power with its 300W brick while the Pro 5 gets a smaller 245W charger. The keyboard gets slight upgrades with slightly more travel (1.6mm vs 1.5mm) and granular RGB control (24-zone vs 4-zone previously).

The 2025 editions of the Legion Pros begin at USD 1,399 for the AMD version while the Intel variant costs 100 dollars extra. They will be available in early Q2 of 2025 and hopefully land here soon. Among the many refreshes at CES 2025, Lenovo also updated its IdeaPad Pro lineup with a new Pro 5i Gen Gen 10 with a powerful Intel processor and a beautiful OLED screen. Here’s let’s explore the new Lenovo IdeaPad 5i Pro Gen 10 (2025) alongside its features, and specs, with expected price in Nepal and availability.

Lenovo IdeaPad Pro 5i Gen 10 (2025) Overview

Design and Display

The Idepad Pro 5i is catered for those users who want an on-the-go productivity machine. As such, despite housing powerful H-series processors, it is quite sleek (<16mm thin) and easy to lug around (1.72 kg). It’s available in Luna Grey and Polar Blue colorways with an all-aluminum chassis.

As for the display, you get a gorgeous OLED screen with a variable refresh rate of up to 120Hz. The spacious 16” canvas paired with a high pixel density (~221 PPI) makes for an immersive viewing experience for both productivity as well as entertainment. The panel can dial down to as low as 30Hz (refresh rate) to preserve battery or can go up to 1100 nits (peak brightness) during movies to amplify immersion. The display is also X-Rite color calibrated out of the factory and covers 100% of the DCI-P3 gamut.

Performance and Memory

The IdeaPad Pro 5i (2025) is an Intel Evo machine running up to a Core Ultra 9 H series processor. That’s a pretty beefy chip and can go up to 135W in the IdeaPad. There are no dedicated graphics in such a slim notebook but you do get Intels’ upgraded Arc graphics integrated alongside the CPU.

A similar story is the memory which is pretty fast (8533MHz) but non-upgradable. But 32GB of RAM alongside 1TB of NVME SSD should be plenty for most office and productivity needs. Nevertheless, there are dual M.2 slots for future expansion just in case.

Battery and Extras

The IdeaPad Pro 5i Gen 10 is running off a large 84Wh battery powered via the Type-C port at up to 100W. There’s another Thunderbolt 4 port as well, alongside two type-A ports, an SD reader, a full-sized HDMI, and an audio jack. The ultrabook also has WiFi 7 support for fast wireless connectivity.

On the top, there’s a 1080p IR webcam with Windows Hello support while you also get a dual speaker setup with Dolby Atmos. The keyboard and trackpad look pretty nice too with 1.5mm of travel and glass topping respectively.
