Noise Buds Nero launched in a compact form factor

NoiseFit aka Noise just launched new earbuds with a compact form factor. In this article, we will be looking into Noise Buds Nero in further detail including its expected price in Nepal.

Noise Buds Nero Overview

Design and Audio

Noise spends a lot of time talking about how mini it is, hence the Buds Nero is likely sized a little smaller than an average pair of earbuds. It comes in an in-ear fitting and ships in a multitude of colours including Charcoal Black, Snow White, Midnight Blue, Olive Green, and Deep Wine. These earbuds have an IPX5 rating for water resistance too.

Noise Buds Nero Colours

Moving on to the audio side of things, it packs 10mm drivers on each side — which isn’t the largest we see on the market. However, given its smaller stature having a smaller driver makes sense. The Noise Buds Nero is also equipped with a quad-mic setup for ENC and a clear calling experience.

Features and Battery

These mini-buds don’t have much going on feature-wise, but there are some. Firstly, they come with Bluetooth v5.3 with Hyper Sync. The latter is an instant pairing feature where it connects to the last paired device as soon as the case lid is popped open. The Noise Buds Nero also comes with a low latency connection that can be as low as 40ms. And that is about it.

Noise Buds Nero Low Latency

In terms of playtime, they can last up to 45 hours when factoring in both earbuds and the charging case. Likewise, the Noise Buds Nero comes with Instacharge technology wherein plugging it in for a mere 10 minutes equates to 15 times the playback time.

Noise Buds Nero Specifications

  • Design: In-ear, stemmed, IPX5-rated
  • Dimensions: 46.00 mm x 54.00 mm x 28.00 mm
  • Weight: 36 grams
  • Sound Driver: 10mm
  • Noise Cancellation: ENC during calls with quad-mic setup
  • Connectivity: Bluetooth v5.3
  • Playback: Up to 45 hours (Combined)
  • Charging: 120 minutes, via USB Type-C, Instacharge (10 minutes charge = 150 minutes playback)

Microsoft unveils Windows 365 Link for cloud computing

0

Windows 365 is a cloud-based service from Microsoft allowing users to stream a full Windows desktop experience from the cloud to any device. This allows users to get their full computer setup from any device anywhere. Now Microsoft just launched a special device tailor-made to run Windows 365, and they call it Windows 365 Link.

Microsoft Windows 365 Link Overview

Design

The Windows 365 Link looks like a regular TV setup box with a compact and minimalist design, measuring just 120 mm x 120 mm x 30 mm. It is made of eco-friendly materials — mostly recycled metals. The top shield comprises 90% post-consumer recycled aluminium alloy, while the bottom plate is pre-consumer recycled aluminium. Similarly, the motherboard uses 100% recycled copper and 96% recycled tin.

The device does not have a fan for active cooling, it relies on its metal body to conduct the heat away from its system. This also helps the device be quieter. For connectivity, the Windows 365 Link features an HDMI port, a DisplayPort, and four USB ports. Three of them are USB 3.2 Type As and one USB 3.2 Type-C. Additionally, there’s a gigabit Ethernet port and a 3.5mm headphone jack as well. In the meantime, it has Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3 support for wireless connectivity.

Usage

The Windows 365 Link is purpose-built for accessing Windows 365 desktops, making it ideal for modern businesses embracing “hot desk” environments. Employees can log in from any desk or location, ensuring continuity in their digital workspace — whether at the office, home or on the move. Importantly, the device offers built-in video decoding and encoding capabilities, making it suitable for video calls and conferencing.

Windows 365 Login

Security is one of the main focuses of this device. It runs a locked-down operating system, with no local apps, administrative privileges, or stored data. This significantly reduces the risks of hacking or data theft. Secure login options include passwordless authentication via Microsoft Entra ID, the Microsoft Authenticator app, or a FIDO USB security key.

Moreover, large-scale enterprises can manage Windows Link 365 through Microsoft Intune. This allows them to efficiently manage whatever number of these devices they have deployed.

Microsoft Windows 365 Link Price in Nepal and Availability

Subscribers of Windows 365 Link Enterprise, Frontline or Business can get and use this device for USD 350. The Government version of the service is not supported as of now. Microsoft is first rolling out a preview programme, which interested entities can join by 15 December. It will fully be available in the first half of 2025, wherein the USA, Canada, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan will get it in April.

In the meantime, this device will likely not make it to Nepal as there isn’t a very big market for it. But if it does, we expect the Windows 365 Link price in Nepal to be NPR 58,499.

Affordable Lenovo 2-in-1 with stylus is now available for under 1 lakh!

Truth be told there aren’t that many options when it comes to affordable 2-in-1 machines in Nepal with most of them soaring beyond that 1 lakh price point. Some Inspiron models from Dell, Lenovo’s own IdeaPad Flexes, and Envys from HP are your best bet. But, an older soul from back in 2022 is now available with extra bits and pieces. So in this short coverage, I’ll briefly touch on the Lenovo Flex 7 (2022), its features and specifications, alongside price in Nepal and availability.

Lenovo Flex 7 (2022) Overview

Design and Display

Let’s take a quick look at the aesthetic appeal of the Flex 7. It’s a 2-in-1 that can be used in a variety of ways including tent, stand, and tablet modes where you fold the screen based on application need. The top of the case is made out of aluminium that gives off a hint of premium feel but the bottom and rest of the chassis is plastic. Regardless, the ‘Stone Blue’ color option looks pretty subtle and the package is pretty portable at just over 1600 grams.Lenovo Flex 7 2022 design

For the display, you are getting a 14” touch screen with 1440p resolution and 300 nits of brightness. The IPS panel is locked at 60Hz but the colors (100% sRGB) and contrast (1500:1) are pretty good for the price.

Performance and Memory

Unfortunately one of the biggest downsides of this machine is the old Alder Lake processor from Intel. The Core i5 1235U powering this unit isn’t the most powerful or the most efficient today but it’s still a good enough chipset for everyday necessities. There are 10 cores in total with 12 threads and a boost clock of up to 4.4 GHz.

Intel Core i5-1235U

The LPDDR4x-4266 memory is soldered to the system board and cannot be expanded after purchase. Another downer is that the laptop is only available in 8GB trim which might not be enough for anyone looking to push their Windows system once in a while. Something like the HP Envy x360 has slower DDR4 RAM but the sticks on that can be upgraded for better multitasking performance.

Battery Life and Ports

Powering the Flex 7 is a 59Wh Lithium Polymer cell that Lenovo says can last up to 11 hours of continuous 1080p video playback at 150nits. The charging takes place via the Thunderbolt 4 Type-C connection with the 65W AC brick shipped inside the box. Other ports on the Flex 7 (2022) include two Type-As, an SD card slot, a HDMI, and an audio jack. There’s also a fingerprint reader for ease of access and security and additional features like a backlit keyboard and WiFi 6E support.

Lenovo Flex 7 2022 ports

Alongside your purchase, there’s also an additional gift: the Lenovo Digital Pen with 4096 different levels of pressure sensitivity. This can be helpful while navigating the OS in tablet or tent modes or for taking notes and such. There are also two customizable buttons for quick actions and shortcuts.

Lenovo Flex 7 (2022) Specifications

  • Design & Build: Metal Lid, Plastic body / All-plastic body
  • Display sizes: 14″ IPS Touch, 60Hz, 100% sRGB, 300 nits
  • Resolution: 2.2K (2240 x 1400), 16:10 aspect ratio

Acer Nitro V 16 with the new Ryzen 8040 series CPU is now available in Nepal!

Acer recently announced a new gaming laptop with the latest AMD chipset and NVIDIA discrete graphics card. This new laptop, Acer Nitro V 16, is now available in Nepal as well. Let’s look deeper at the Acer Nitro V 16, and discuss its full specs, features, expected price in Nepal, availability, and more!

Acer Nitro V 16 (ANV16-41) Overview

Design and Display

The Acer Nitro V 16 comes in a similar design to its other Nitro V 15 siblings. It features the company logo on the centre of the lid and vents under the hinge. Meanwhile, it also comes with an RGB backlit keyboard with a numpad on the front.

In terms of display, Acer is giving us two options to choose from i.e. WQXGA or WUXGA. Either way, it will be a 16-inch screen with a 165Hz refresh rate measuring a response time of 3ms. Acer has not mentioned the type of panel this laptop will feature. However, from our experience with gaming laptops, we assume it to be an IPS LCD panel.

Performance

Under the hood, Acer Nitro V 16 will boast the latest AMD 8040 series of processors. It is the first adopter of this series of SoC, as it was announced on the same day! This laptop will ship with a CPU of up to AMD Ryzen 7 8845HS. In the meantime, it will be assisted by an NVIDIA GeForce graphics card of up to RTX 4060. Although the TGP is capped at 60W, and the maximum it’ll go is up to 75W, you are not losing a ton of power on the RTX 4050 and RTX 4060 cards (around 10-15% drop from their maximum power).

AMD Ryzen CPU

Furthermore, the Acer Nitro V 16 (ANV16-41) will also feature a DDR5 RAM of up to 32 GB clocking in at 5,600 MHz. Similarly, it will also have up to 2 TB of PCIe 4.0 SSD storage. Moreover, a dual-fan cooling system helps this laptop keep cool while providing optimum performance. It will ship with Windows 11 out of the box on the software front.

How is the AMD 8040 series anyway?

The AMD 8040 series retains identical core counts, clock speeds, cache size, and other key aspects to its predecessor, the 7040 series. The only upgrade the latest AMD CPUs offer is a dedicated Neural Processing Unit (NPU). This unit oversees all aspects of AI, including tasks like AI upscaling during gaming. At the same time, it is likely to contribute to additional AI capabilities such as Acer PurifiedView and Acer PurifiedVoice, smoothening activities like streaming, video chatting, and noise cancellation.

Connectivity and the rest

The Acer Nitro V 16 comes with decent options of ports with a full-function USB 4 Type-C, two USB 3 Type-A, an HDMI port, and a headphone jack. In terms of wireless connectivity, we will be getting WiFi 6E as well as unspecified Bluetooth version support. Meanwhile, it features speakers with DTS:X Ultra support.

Acer Nitro V 16 (ANV16-41) Specifications

  • Display: 16” IPS LCD Panel*, 16:10, 165Hz refresh rate, 3ms response time
  • Resolution: WQXGA (2,560 x 1,600) or WUXGA (1,920 x 1200)

  • Connectivity: WiFi 6E + Unspecified Bluetooth version
  • Colour: Black

0

A new budget phone from Redmi has been announced in India. Bearing the Redmi A4 5G tagline, the key feature lies on the core, which is the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2 SoC. And it is also launching soon in Nepal. Without further ado, let’s get into the specs, features, and expected price of the Redmi A4 5G in Nepal in this article.

Redmi A4 5G Overview:

Design and Display

Beginning with the design, the Redmi A4 5G borrows its appearance from the recently unveiled Redmi 14C. You get the identical Oreo-shaped camera module and a halo-glass back on the rear side. For ingress protection, there is an IP52 rating. As for the display, it is a 6.88-inch HD+ IPS LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 600nits of brightness. Other than that, it is also certified with TUV Low Blue Light, TUV Cicardina, and TUV Flicker-Free. Which is very commendable for a budget phone.

Snapdragon 4s Gen 2

The star of the show on the Redmi A4 is its processor: Snapdragon 4s Gen 2. This budget SoC from Qualcomm boasts an energy-efficient 4nm fabrication process and 5G connectivity. You get a similar architecture to the 4 Gen 2, just slightly underclocked cores. To put it into a picture, you get 2×2.2 GHz Cortex-A78 & 6×2.0 GHz Cortex-A55 cores here, which should provide a better overall performance and gaming in the budget segment.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 4s gen 2

Redmi has paired the chip with 4GB RAM and storage up to 128GB, which is a UFS 2.2 type, a very rare combo in the budget segment. On the software side, this guy boots on Xiaomi HyperOS skin built on top of Android 14. Redmi has promised 2 years of ANdrodi updates and 4 years of security patches for this phone.

Camera, Battery, and Others

As for the optics, the smartphone bears a 50MP rear camera and a 5MP selfie camera. Fueling the phone is a 5160mAh battery with 18W fast charging support. But Redmi is generous enough to bundle a 33W fast charger free in the box. Moreover, what’s more considerable is that the phone supports gigabit-fast connectivity speed on 5G.

Yatri is gearing up to make the most comfortable scooter there is

With so many brands in the market and showrooms growing like mushrooms, one can easily figure that electric scooters are becoming Nepali folks’ favourite commute vehicles, especially in the Kathmandu Valley. Now, a familiar name has also decided to step into the category — It’s Yatri Motorcycles! We will discuss all that we know of Yatri Scooter in this article.

Yatri Scooter Overview

It will be called “Yatri P2”

The prices of electric bikes including Yatri itself go way above what a general Nepali is willing to pay for their commute. However, one can get a decent electric scooter under the NPR 200,000 mark, which is much more affordable. This is why electric scooters are so popular and are increasing in popularity in Nepal.

Yatri always knew that, and already planned for it. If you go through the company’s vision there is also a hint of what Yatri is doing right now. They acknowledge that P0 and even P1 are not well-suited for the mass market. But it has been a learning curve to build a vehicle for the mass market — Yatri P2!

Yatri scooter concept
Made with AI

Given the popularity of electric scooters in Nepal, it seemed like P2 would be one as well. Various sources were already claiming that Yatri P2 would be a scooter years before this announcement. Therefore, it should be called — Yatri P2, unless the company decides to throw a curve ball at us.

Involve the riders

Yatri Motorcycles posted on their social media inviting experienced riders for lunch. With this session, the company intended to get valuable insight on what to implement on its upcoming scooter. Users could register themselves into the focus group after which the Yatri team will organise a group meet. Then the riders could express what they think is important in a scooter and share the best feature they like about their current ride too.

Yatri Scooter call for focus group

Well, Yatri talked with users and got the data they were looking for. It is currently unclear if the company will hold another such session.

More Data, Most Comfort

After the session, Yatri’s team went straight to work. They aim to build a scooter that is comfortable for everyone — or in other words — the most comfortable scooter. They have put together a model rig that the public can try out at their R&D centre. This will help Yatri collect ergonomics data and tailor a baseline scooter geometry.

What else to expect?

Since it’s Yatri, the design of their upcoming scooter will surely be eye-catching. Other than that, the good amount of range will surely be another thing to expect. While Yatri P1 offers a pretty decent range of over 100 kilometres, some other offerings claim to offer nearly double the range. So, Yatri will have to step up the range game with their scooter.

What else? Pricing, of course. The affordability has always been a major critique of Yatri bikes, so we are expecting a large part of the discussion to be centred around the pricing. Being a Nepali company, there is even more pressure on Yatri to have a lower price tag than the foreign competition. Hence, we are hoping for a really competitive pricing for the Yatri scooter.

Yatri Scooter Launch and Availability

We would be getting too ahead of ourselves trying to guess when Yatri is launching their upcoming scooter, as it’s just in its initial discussion phase. Hence, it will likely take a few years before we start seeing them running on Nepali roads.

Asus ROG Phone 9 now brings baked-in AI features as well

Asus is a Taiwanese consumer electronics manufacturer that produces gamer-centric devices. They have been making gaming phones for quite some time now. Now, they have launched their ninth iteration of the ROG Phone series. Let’s look at the nitty-gritty of the Asus ROG Phone 9 along with its expected price in Nepal.

Asus ROG Phone 9 Overview

Design and Display

The Asus ROG Phone 9 looks pretty much the same as its predecessor. However, there is a key difference — AniMe Vision. It is a similar take to the company’s AniMe Matrix seen in laptops. It is an array of 85 programmable mini-LEDs that can display various animations. Other than that, it comes in Storm White and Phantom Black colour options.

Asus ROG Phone 9 AniMe Vision

On the front, it has a silky-smooth AMOLED panel that can reach refresh rates of up to 185Hz. This smoothness can only be achieved through Asus’ Game Genie. Otherwise, the phone can only be pushed to 165Hz through regular settings. Moreover, the display offers up to 2,500 nits peak brightness and FHD+ resolution while recovering 103.16% NTSC colour gamut. On top of that, Asus ROG Phone 9 has a Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 layering for screen protection.

Performance

Given that this phone was built to be a gaming beast, it is a no-brainer that it has the most potent chipset in the market — Snapdragon 8 Elite. While it has the raw power needed, it pairs that up with GameCool 9 technology to help maintain sustained performance. It is a multi-layer cooling system complete with enlarged graphene sheets.

Asus ROG Phone 9 Snapdragon 8 Elite

Additional performance hardware on the Asus ROG Phone 9 includes LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage. It comes in two configurations: 12GB + 256GB and 16GB + 512GB. In the tank, it has a 5,800 mAh battery with up to 65W charging speed support. Likewise, the phone boots on Android 15 with ROG UI and comes with handy-dandy AI features like call translator, transcription, circle to search, and so on.

Camera

The camera isn’t half bad either. It has a 50MP primary camera with a Sony Lytia 700 sensor and a six-axis gimbal. There are two auxiliary lenses in the rear camera system — an ultrawide and a macro shooter. The former is a 13MP unit while the latter is a 5MP one. Similarly, the front camera is a 32MP RGBW snapper.
