A judge in Brazil ordered the ban of social media platform X after the company failed to meet a deadline set by the Supreme Court on an ongoing issue. In this article, we will delve into the details surrounding this case.
Reason behind the ban of X
According to the report, X, formerly Twitter, got suspended due to failure to appoint a new legal representative in the country responsible for managing legal matters of Brazilian laws. The judge, Alexandre de Moraes ordered the “immediate and complete suspension” of the platform until it adheres to court orders and pays existing fines.
X accounts linked to disinformation
The issue started in April when Justice Moraes ordered the suspension of several X accounts which were accused of spreading disinformation.
Regarding the ban, X head Musk argued that these orders violate free speech and described them as politically motivated and illegal under Brazilian law.
“Free speech is the bedrock of democracy and an unelected pseudo-judge in Brazil is destroying it for political purposes.” – Elon Musk
On the other hand, Moraes has instructed Apple and Google to remove Twitter (X) from their respective app stores immediately. He further added that individuals or businesses accessing the platform through VPNs face daily fines of R$50,000 (~USD 8900).
Twitter (X) closed its office in Brazil earlier this month, due to the threats of arrest for non-compliance. The company described the situation as censorship and illegal. However, as per the judge’s order, the ban on X will be in effect until the company appoints a new legal representative in the country and pays fines for violating Brazilian law.
From WhatsApp to X: Quite a history
Since about 10% of Brazil’s 200 million population uses this social media platform, the ban on X could somehow impact the company. Nevertheless, X is not the only social media company to experience pressure from Brazilian authorities. Last year, Telegram was temporarily banned for not complying with requests to block certain profiles. Meta’s WhatsApp also experienced temporary bans in 2015 and 2016 for refusing to provide user data to law enforcement.
After months of “coming very soon”, the Moto Edge 50 Neo is finally here! While nearly all the leaked information stands true, we now have further clarity on what remained hidden. In this article, we will look into the Motorola Edge 50 Neo including its expected price in Nepal.
Motorola Edge 50 Neo Overview
Design and Display
The Motorola Edge 50 Neo is more or less a mini version of the regular Edge 50 launched last month. Given that, it looks pretty much identical apart from the size and plastic frames. It boasts IP68 as well as MIL-STD 810H military rating, similar to its larger counterpart. The phone is available in wider colour choices, which include PANTONE Poinciana, PANTONE Lattè, PANTONE Grisaille, and PANTONE Nautical Blue. All the options are crafted with vegan leather on the back.

Moving on to the front, you get a 6.4-inch pOLED screen with Super HD resolution and Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It offers an adaptive refresh rate of up to 120Hz, touch sampling rate of 300Hz, and peak brightness of 3,000 nits. It also covers the full DCI-P3 colour gamut and displays over a billion shades of colour. The Motorola Edge 50 Neo has bagged SGS certification for blue light and motion blur reduction.
Performance
This phone has opted for the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 for its processing duties. In contrast, the regular Edge 50 has the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 Accelerated Edition instead. While the two phones have different chipsets under their helm, they are quite similar on paper (note: the Accelerated Edition has a peak frequency of 2.5GHz). Hence, one might not feel the difference in real usage between the Motorola Edge 50 Neo and non-Neo variants.
In terms of configuration, this phone can have up to 12GB RAM and 512GB storage. The leak mentioned that there would be an 8GB + 256GB variant too, however, it has not yet been listed on Motorola’s website. Regardless, users can virtually extend the RAM on the Motorola Edge 50 Neo, but cannot expand the storage. Meanwhile, it has a much smaller battery capped at 4,310 mAh. Despite the lower battery capacity, it supports the same charging speeds as its bigger sibling i.e. 68W wired and 15W wireless.
The Motorola Edge 50 Neo has a 50MP OIS camera coupled with a Sony LYTIA 700C sensor as the primary shooter. It is then assisted by two additional cameras on the back. One is a 13MP ultrawide lens that doubles down as a macro shooter. The other is a 10MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and OIS capability. In the meantime, it has a 32MP unit on the front for the selfies. All in all, it has the same camera setup as the Motorola Edge 50.
The Moto AI is one of the key highlights of this phone. Motorola talks about two particular features — Style Sync and Magic Canvas. The former allows you to snap a picture of your outfit and generates wallpapers and device themes based on that. Likewise, the latter generates images based on your prompts. It’s basically what platforms like ChatGPT, Dall-E, Midjourney, Firefly, etc. already offer, but on the phone itself.
Motorola Edge 50 Neo Price in Nepal and Availability
The smartphone was launched at a starting price of EUR 499 in select European markets on 29 August 2024. The continent also saw the launch of regular Edge 50, Moto G55 5G and Moto G35 5G on the same day.
Similar to other Motorola offerings, we can hope for its arrival here as the brand was recently rejuvenated. If and when it makes its way here, we expect the Motorola Edge 50 Neo price in Nepal to start at NPR 79,999 (based on European pricing).

Apple Authorized Service Centers in Nepal
If your Apple product in Nepal needs replacement or repair, you can either repair it from Apple Authorised service centers or third-party service centers. We highly advise you to go to the authorized service center if it’s a major issue like motherboard repair, screen replacement, or water damage. If it’s a minor issue, you can save some money going to third-party retail centers.
Benefits of Buying iPhone in Nepal from Authorised Retail Channels:
1. VAT Bill
VAT bill not only certifies the legality of a product but also ensures that a portion of your payment goes to the government. So, buying from the authorized channel also helps you serve the duty of a good citizen. Having said that, grey Apple products are usually cheaper than those from the authorized channels.
2. IMEI Registered
In addition, when the iPhones are brought to Nepal by the authorized distributors, they register the IMEI numbers at the Nepal Telecommunication Authority (NTA). Therefore, when you buy an iPhone from an authorized channel, you will be enjoying the privilege of an IMEI-registered phone.
There are plenty of advantages to registering your smartphone’s IMEI at NTA; one is the ability to claim or track your phone in case you lose it. Furthermore, NTA has also announced the registration of the IMEI number of smartphones as a mandatory criterion. Failing to do so might get your phone blocked.
3. Warranty
When you buy from an authorized retailer, you will be offered one year of warranty (replacement warranty on factory defects and Nepal-authorized warranty on software and hardware). Just keep in mind, that this warranty will not cover any sort of physical or water damage.
In addition, there are also chances that the products from unauthorized vendors to be refurbished. So, the greed of little amount of money could engulf you in regrets in the long run.
4. EMI
If you wish to own Apple products but are incapable of paying the price right now, then you will not have to worry. The retailers have an additional service to cope with such difficulties. According to EvoStore, being a credit card holder of NABIL, Global IME, NIBL, Laxmi, Himalayan, or Siddhartha Bank gives you an additional privilege.
If you are a credit card holder of any of the aforementioned banks, you can buy an iPhone with a 12-month EMI plan. You can contact your convenience store for further information and procedures if you find yourself eligible.
The Redmi Note 14 5G has reportedly appeared on the FCC website, hinting at a possible global release. While its predecessor wasn’t launched in Nepal, we’ll discuss the latest rumors surrounding this new model.
Redme Note 14 5G Overview
Performance
The phone is likely to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ chipset. This processor is built on a 6nm process, offering a slight improvement in power efficiency and performance compared to the Dimensity 6080 found in the previous model. The Redmi Note 14 5G is likely to run on HyperOS 1.0, the latest software from Xiaomi.
In terms of charging, the FCC listing hints at a 33W charger included with the device. This is slightly lower than previous rumors, which suggested a 45W fast charger. However, it still aligns with typical mid-range charging capabilities.
Display and Others
The device is also expected to feature a 1.5K AMOLED display, an upgrade from the FHD panel found on the previous Redmi Note 13 5G model. This improvement could enhance the visual experience for users. Additionally, the phone is rumored to support various connectivity options, including Wi-Fi AC, Bluetooth, LTE, and 5G NR bands. These features suggest that the device will be equipped to handle modern connectivity needs.
For photography, the Redmi Note 14 5G is rumored to include a 50MP main rear camera. While this is a reduction from the 108MP sensor found in the Redmi Note 13 5G, it is still expected to provide good image quality, especially in well-lit conditions.
Redmi Note 14 5G Pricing and Availability
As of now, the exact pricing for the Redmi Note 14 5G remains unclear but it’ll float around the price of its predecessor.
A new business-focused Dell laptop has hit the Nepali market. The new Vostro 3520 is a 15-inch notebook for business personnel and small enterprises powered by 12th Gen Intel CPUs. Here, we will discuss the specs, features, latest price, and availability of Dell Vostro 15 3520 in Nepal.
Dell Vostro 15 3520 Overview:
Design and Display
As expected of a 3000-series Vostro laptop, the design of the Vostro 15 3520 is not anything to write home about. It comes in a 15-inch chassis that weighs 1.66 kg. Dell offers the laptop in two builds, one with an all-plastic design and the other with an aluminum lid. One thing worth mentioning is the hinge which lifts the laptop’s base slightly when opened. This makes for a comfortable typing experience while also increasing the base clearance of the chassis where air intake vents and dual speakers are located.
It sports a 15.6-inch display with noticeable bezels. The top one even houses a 720p webcam with an integrated microphone. The cheaper models feature a TN panel with HD resolution, whereas higher-end models have 120Hz FHD IPS panels. Both cover 45% of the NTSC gamut, while the IPS panel is marginally brighter at 250 nits.
In terms of internal hardware, the Dell Vostro 15 3520 has a lot of options. First, you can choose between 11th Gen Tiger Lake and 12th Gen Alder Lake processors. Then you can go with the cheaper Celeron and Pentium CPUs or the more powerful Intel Core i3, i5, and i7. The highest you can go is the 10-core Core i7-1255U.
On the GPU front, the Vostro 3520 is configurable with up to entry-level NVIDIA MX550 discrete graphics. However, it’s reserved for higher-end models, and the majority just ship with Intel’s integrated solution.
In terms of connectivity, the Dell Vostro 15 3520 features three USB ports, an HDMI, an ethernet, an SD card reader, and a headphone jack. Oddly, Dell has excluded a Type-C port, making you pay extra if you need it. The laptop comes with the Trusted Platform Module 2.0 security chip with an additional option for a Windows Hello-ready fingerprint reader.
Dell Vostro 15 3520 Specifications:
Design and Build: 358.50 x 235.56 x 19.96-22.47; 1.66 kg
Dell Vostro 15 3520 Price in Nepal and Availability
The regular price of the new Dell Vostro 15 3520 in Nepal starts at Rs. 63,000 for the Platinum Silver variant with 12th Gen Intel Core i3. There are many other variants too.

Realme had already filled in the spots for its 13 series with a base device, and some pro models, but it seems like the company is eager to step it up with yet another Realme 13. This time around, its the Realme 13 5G powered by a MediaTek Dimensity instead of one of Qualcomm’s offerings. In this short article, let’s glance at the Realme 13 5G specs and features, its expected price in Nepal, and availability details.
Realme 13 5G Overview
Design and Display
Starting with the dimensions, the new Realme device is slightly bigger and sleeker than its 4G sibling. The back also loses its dial-like module and mid-strap aesthetic from the previous 13 and 13 pro smartphones and embraces a new dual-tone marble look. Realme 13 5G is available in two color options: Speed Green and Dark Purple, although the latter leans more towards a black colorway.
On the front, the display is a slightly larger 6.72-inch FHD+ screen but Realme has decided to ditch OLED in the 5G version. So, it’s an IPS screen running at up to 120Hz with a typical brightness of 580 nits.
Performance and Memory
Under the hood, the Realme 13 5G steps it up with a faster Dimesnity 6300 processor with a 5G modem. The MediaTek chip with its dual A76 cores and six A55s is a noticeable improvement over the Snapdragon 685 in the Realme 13 4G. It’s based on a 6nm manufacturing node and can clock up to 2.4 GHz. The smartphone boots on Android 14-based realme UI 5.0 and will likely be supported until Android 16.
For the memory side of things, you can either get the base 8/128GB option or the 256GB variant with the same amount of RAM.
Cameras and Battery
The rear of the Realme 13 5G houses a 50MP shooter complemented by an unspecified secondary lens. The primary has an aperture of f/1.8 and supports OIS (Optical Image Stabilization) for videos too (2k res). Flipping to the other side, the 16MP selfie cam is housed in the punch hole.
The Realme smartphone takes its juice from a 5000 mAh cell inside. And surprisingly, the company has decided to downgrade the fast charging capabilities from 67W in the 4G version to just 45W here.
