Realme 13+ spotted and ALL MAJOR SPECS ARE OUT!

Realme has been busy with its 13 series, launching the Pro and Pro+ models near the end of July. Then the company unveiled the 4G-only base model a few days ago. Now we are getting some wind about a “Plus” model too! Let’s look at the Realme 13+, all the rumours, and what we know about the phone.

Certifications

Geeksdigit spotted a new Realme smartphone in Chinese telecom authority TENAA’s database. This phone carries the model number “RMX5002” and is suggested to be the Realme 13+. The listing also gives us a first look at the phone and reveals its key specifications!

So, what’s up?

Design and Display

The Realme 13+ has a similar design blueprint to its series compatriots. That being said, it has a large camera circular island sitting at the top and aligned to the centre. Meanwhile, the phone has a monotone finish without any visible textures or patterns. As of now, only a Black colour option has been spotted. Realme will likely provide at least one other shade to choose from.

On the front, the Realme 13+ will sport a 6.67-inch display with AMOLED panel. The screen will be FHD+ in resolution stretching 1,080 x 2,400 pixels. We also have hands on the dimensions and weight of the phone. It will be 161.70 mm x 74.70 x 7.60 mm while weighing 185 grams.

Performance and other hardware

Under the helm, the phone will have an eight-core CPU that will clock in at a peak of 2.5GHz. Sources are expecting the processor to be MediaTek Dimensity 7300. Other than that, the Realme 13+ will offer four memory as well as storage options. The RAM on this thing can be 6GB, 8GB, 12GB or 16GB. In the meantime, internal storage starts at 128GB and goes all the way to a terabyte.

The listing mentions that the phone has a 4,880 mAh cell in the tank. This is likely the battery’s rated capacity and will have a typical capacity of 5,000 mAh. The source also mentions a 50MP primary shooter and a 2MP auxiliary lens. This means that the Realme 13+ has a dual camera setup on the back, and one lens is only a decor. Talking of the front camera, it will be a 16MP unit.

Geekbench Listing

The same source also spotted the phone on Geekbench. This time around, the phone has a little different model number i.e. “RMX5000”. However, the overall similarity between the two model numbers suggests it’s likely the same phone, just different configurations.

Anyhoo, the Realme 13+ variant spotted in Geekbench carries a 6GB memory. The listing also reveals further details about the processor. It has four cores clocking in at 2.00 GHz and the rest goes up to 2.50 GHz. This architecture is indeed the one MediaTek Dimensity 7300 has, more or less confirming the speculation. Furthermore, the chipset has a single-core and multi-core score of 1,043 and 2,925 respectively.

MediaTek has announced its new series of chipset which closely resemble its predecessor. In this article, we will discuss MediaTek Helio G100 and its specifications.

Rebranding of Helio G99

The MediaTek Helio G100 is built using TSMC’s 6nm (N6) chip production technology, which is quite outdated we can say. It has an octa-core CPU, with two Arm Cortex-A76 processors clocking up to 2.2GHz and six Cortex A55s at 2 GHz, and a capable Arm Mali G57-class GPU. It also supports LPDDR4X RAM and UFS 2.2-class storage, good enough for daily tasks. However, nothing of this is new to the Helio G99!

The standout feature of the Helio G100 is its improved ISP. Unlike the G99, which supported 108 MP, the Helio G100 now supports a 200 MP single camera. It also includes 2.2μm pixel binding for enhanced night shots, hardware dual camera support, and lossless in-sensor zoom. The G100 supports dual 16 MP shooting and 32 MP video recording at 30fps, features that remain unchanged from the previous model.

Helio G100’s new feature

One new feature in the Helio G100 is the “Elevator Mode,” which quickly restores cellular connections from areas with no coverage, such as tunnels or elevators. It also supports dual 4G SIMs with VoLTE (Voice over LTE) and ViLTE (Video over LTE).

It’s not totally surprising, but it’s still kind of unusual that MediaTek revealed the chipset over a week after the Tecno Camon 30S Pro‘s release with the same chipset.

Just the G99 in Disguise?

So, Helio G100 is basically G99 with a bit better ISP. While it primarily focuses on improving camera performance, particularly with features like Elevator Mode, there aren’t any changes in other aspects.

The MediaTek G99 chip is a quite popular option for budget smartphones, and because the G100 isn’t very different, it’s expected to achieve similar market success in the budget segment. However, the Snapdragon 4s Gen 2, a likely competitor to the G100, in comparison offers slightly better performance and storage (UFS) support. So it might potentially be more preferred option in the entry-level processor segment.

You probably have heard of Oukitel making headlines with their massive 10k to 20k mAh batteries and might have wondered whether the big smartphone companies will create such big batteries. Well, in a recent report, we have found that Xiaomi is apparently making 7500 mAh batteries and overall shifting its approach towards enhancing battery capacity. In this article, we will discuss everything about the recent rumors regarding Xiaomi’s battery development approach.

Xiaomi’s Battery Approach Rumor

A massive wave of fast-charging approaches broke out a couple of years back, with companies trying their best to charge smartphones as quickly as possible, and Xiaomi even hitting the 200W mark. However, the Chinese company has now taken a different route in its approach to batteries and fast charging. According to a leak from Digital Chat Station on Weibo, Xiaomi is now focusing on enhancing battery capacity in its smartphones, potentially signaling an industry-wide shift in priorities.

The New Battery Configurations Under Development

At Xiaomi’s R&D center in the Nanjing Science and Technology Park, engineers are reportedly working on new battery technologies that balance capacity and charging speed. The following configurations are rumored to be under consideration:

5,500 mAh with 100W charging: A full charge in 34 minutes.
6,000 mAh with 120W charging: A full charge in 30 minutes.

NVIDIA just announced the Super variant of its 4080 graphics card for a much more digestible price than what the RTX 4080 initially went for. It also brings a bit of an upgrade when it comes to performance with faster memory, more CUDA cores, and an uncut AD103 chip. In this article, let’s take a quick look at the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 super, its specs, upgrades, price in Nepal, and availability.

NVIDIA RTX 4080 Super Overview:

Super variants of NVIDIA graphics cards are basically GPUs with slightly improved performance and sometimes added features. The RTX 4080 Super we are talking about also brings a couple of hardware tweaks for improved horsepower.

Getting into the basic overview, the Nvidia RTX 4080 Super features an uncut ADD103 chip. That means the full 10,240 CUDA cores, 320 texture mapping units, and 112 ROPs. The base clock frequency of 2.21GHz stays the same while the boost clock gets a slight boost from 2.51 GHz to 2.55 GHz. Besides that, there’s also a larger 736 GB/s bandwidth and 16GB of GDDR6X VRAM. The TGP stays the same at 320W.

Performance Gains

With all that, if you thought that the 4080 Super doesn’t look very appealing over the 4080, you are not alone. NVIDIA has positioned the 4080 Super for those upgrading from older cards like the 2080 Super or 3080 Ti.

In fact, NVIDIA says that this card is 1.4x faster than the RTX 3080 Ti in games like Alan Wake, Cyberpunk 2077, and Portal with RTX with raytracing and all the other settings cranked to max without frame gen. With it though, the company claims double the performance over 3080 Ti which is super impressive especially if you consider the price.

Since its a high-end graphics card, there’s a lot of use for applications like ML (Machine Learning), creative uses, and streaming as well. For instance, NVIDIA says that producing 1024×1024 images using Stable Diffusion WebUI by Automatic1111 is 1.7x faster, and generating video in Stable Video Diffusion is 1.5x faster than the RTX 3080Ti. Even 3D apps like Blender should run up to 70% faster than previous-generation cards.

The GPU giant NVIDIA recently unveiled the ‘Super’ variants for some of its RTX 40 series graphics cards. That includes a 4070 Super, a 4070 Ti Super, and the RTX 4080 Super. In this article, let’s talk about the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super, its price, specifications, upgrades, price in Nepal, and availability.

NVIDIA RTX 4070 Ti Super Overview:

Super variants of NVIDIA graphics cards are basically GPUs with slightly improved performance and sometimes added features. The RTX 4070 Ti is a bit different and sees a little extra besides just basic hardware upgrades. For how the 4070 Ti Super now has the ADA 103 GPU at its heart instead of the ADA 104 on last year’s 4070 Ti.

Getting into the basic overview, the Nvidia RTX 4070 Ti Super sees an upgrade in almost all aspects. Staring with 8448 CUDA cores, 264 texture mapping units, and 112 ROPs: all upgrades from 7680 CUDA cores, 240 TMUs, and 80 ROPS in the RTX 4070 Ti. The base clock frequency gets a very slight boost of 30MHz (2.34 GHz from 2.31 GHz) while the boost clock speed remains the same at 2.61 GHz.

You get more VRAM (16GB of GDDR6X instead of 12GB) with a larger memory bus (256bit vs 192-bit) and a higher bandwidth of 716.8 GB/s (over the previous 504.2 GB/s).

The TDP remains the same though at 285W.

All in all, it’s a bump in hardware resources and the higher VRAM might be clutch if you were looking to upgrade from an older card and had longevity as one of your primary pillars.

Performance Gains

This graphics card is ideal for 1440p gaming with higher fps (100+ fps). Or you can choose to game at 4k and still have an enjoyable gaming experience.

The GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super is claimed to be 1.6 times faster than the RTX 3070 Ti and up to 2.5x faster with DLSS 3 (and Frame Gen) on.

As such, it might be a worthwhile upgrade for those with an RTX 3070 Ti or even an RTX 2070 Super card. There’s a lot of extra performance over the older cards and it’s not an exorbitant ask either.

Lenovo Yoga 6 Gen 8 refreshed with Ryzen 7000 series processors

At the ongoing CES 2023, Lenovo refreshed a lot of its consumer electronics lineup. We have already covered the new Legion Pro 5 and Legion Pro 7, and for this article, we have turned our focus to the Lenovo Yoga 6. So, further ado, let’s get into the specs, features, price, and availability of the Lenovo Yoga 6 Gen 8 (2023) in Nepal.

Lenovo Yoga 6 Gen 8 (2023) Overview:

Design and Display

Now on its 8th gen, Lenovo has already established Yoga 6 as a popular option in the 2-in-1 convertible segment. So, it should not be a surprise that the new 2023 model is more of a refresh than a laptop built from the ground up. Lenovo is playing safe by going with the tried and tested design of the previous iterations of the Yoga 6.

Like its predecessor, the new Yoga 6 Gen 8 sports a thin-and-light form factor with rounded frames for ergonomics. Lenovo continues to offer the 2-in-1 laptop in Fabric and Metal Editions. The latter comes with a metal lid made from recycled aluminum, whereas the other has an added layer for PCC fabrics. Of the two, the Fabric Edition is slightly heavier but is also 0.11mm thinner.

Coming to the display, Lenovo Yoga 6 (2023) features a 13.3” FHD touchscreen with a 360° hinge. The screen sports a modern 16:10 aspect ratio and covers 100% of the sRGB color gamut. It has Dolby Vision certification and peaks at 300 nits of brightness.

Audio, Keyboard, Webcam

In addition to the Dolby Vision display, Lenovo Yoga 6 Gen 8 (2023) also has a stereo speaker setup with Doby Atmos. The two speakers are front-facing and capable of 2W output each. In between them lies the full-size keyboard with a dedicated number pad. A fingerprint reader lies just below the keyboard to the left.

As for performance, you get to choose between AMD’s latest Ryzen 7000-series APUs. The base variant comes with Ryzen 5 7530U, while there is a Ryzen 7 7730U for users that require more power. Despite the Ryzen 7000 series, these two chips are not the latest Zen 4 architecture. Instead, they are part of the “Barcelo refresh” of the Zen 2-based Ryzen 5 5500U and Ryzen 7 5700U, respectively.

Lenovo offers the 2023’s Yoga 6 in 8GB and 16GB RAM variants. Since it’s a 2-in-1 convertible laptop, the memory is not accessible and thus non-upgradeable. Moreover, the laptop comes with up to 1TB of SSD storage, depending upon the configuration.

Fueling the Lenovo Yoga 6 Gen 8 is a 59Whr rated for up to 13.5 hours in MobileMark 2018. Lenovo even says the laptop can last up to 17 hours of continuous local video playback. Moreover, the company has even included support for in-house Rapid Charge technology.

Connectivity options on the new Yoga 6 (2023) include two USB-C, two USB-A, one HDMI, one MicroSD card reader, and a combined audio jack. Then there are Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2 for wireless networks.

Vivo V40 Pro launched with Dimensity 9200+ and Zeiss optics

The Vivo V30 Series went official 7 months ago and its successors are already here. Dubbed the Vivo V40 and Vivo V40 Pro, both siblings arrive with Zeiss optics and curved displays. This article will particularly focus on the Vivo V40 Pro, its specs, features, and expected price in Nepal.

Vivo V40 Pro Overview:

Design and Display

The Vivo V40 Pro maintains a slim profile and a curved body design. It features a glass back panel, a curved middle frame, and a curved front. In terms of ingress protection, you get an IP68 rating for protection against dust and water. Vivo ships this guy in two color options: Ganges Blue and Titanium Grey.

As for the display, the Vivo V40 Pro sports an FHD+ res AMOLED display stretching at 6.78-inch. It boasts a 120Hz refresh rate, HDR10+ certifications, SGS low flicker certification, SGS low blue light certification, and 4500nits of local peak brightness.

Performance

Running the things from the core is Mediatek’s Dimensity 9200+ SoC, which is flagship-grade actually. You get one Cortex-X3 core at 3.35MHz, three Cortex-A715 cores at 3.0GHz and four Cortex-A510 cores at 2.0GHz. Handling the graphics here is a Mali-G715 Immortalis MP11 GPU. Likewise, Vivo has paired the chip with 8/12GB of RAM and 256/512GB of internal storage. Software-wise, it boots on Android 14-based Funtouch OS out of the box.

Camera

As always, the Pro version of the V Series gets a special treatment for the optics. This guy features a 2X telephoto lens (missing on the vanilla V40) with a Sony IMX816 sensor on board for some stellar-looking portraits. Meanwhile, the other three cameras also have the same resolution: 50MP for the main, ultrawide, and front. Every camera on the V40 Pro gets a ZEISS coating that enhances visible light transmission rate and accurate color reproduction.

Realme has officially launched the Realme 13 4G in Indonesia. The phone is positioned as more affordable option compared to the previously released 13 Pro series. This article discussed the latest Realme 13 4G, including its price in Nepal.
