For me, the design of Nothing phones has always stood out. Especially with that transparent back. While the Phone (3a) looks a lot like last year’s Nothing Phone (2a) (review), the Pro version feels different in its own way.

Nothing Phone (3a) Pro Design

At the back, the camera module almost looks like there’s another phone stuck inside… kind of like a phone within a phone. You’ll also see Nothing’s signature Glyph lights on the back. It lights up when you get calls or notifications. Now, I get that some people might find it a bit too flashy or even unnecessary after a while. But honestly, I like it. It’s different, and it adds a bit of fun.

Display

  • 1,300 nits (HBM) / 3,000 nits brightness (HDR) brightness

The display on the Nothing Phone (3a) Pro is solid. It comes with a 120Hz AMOLED panel that feels smooth and responsive. With 1,300 nits in high brightness mode and up to 3,000 nits peak in HDR, this thing can get really bright. It also supports 10-bit colors and HDR10+, which helps everything look more vibrant.

I was watching some HDR videos the other day, and it felt like I was holding a mini theater in my hand (hehe… I like to exaggerate things sometimes). Honestly, watching “Interstellar” on this screen almost made me feel like I was floating through space with Cooper, minus the whole time dilation, of course. Even outdoors in bright sunlight, I had no problem seeing the screen clearly.

Performance

Alright, let’s talk about performance because this part kinda made me scratch my head. Nothing went with the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 for both the regular and Pro models. And honestly that felt like a bit of a letdown. I mean, if I’m spending ten thousand rupees more, I expect at least some noticeable upgrade, right?

At the very least, they could’ve given us the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 3 or even the standard Snapdragon 7 Gen 3.

Now, don’t get me wrong the phone isn’t slow. Day-to-day stuff like browsing, social media, and switching between apps is fine. Nothing has done a good job with optimization, so it runs smoothly. But it’s not fast in the way you’d expect a “Pro” phone to be. You’ll notice the difference if you’ve used a higher-end chipset before.

One thing that bugged me even more was the storage. They used UFS 2.2 instead of UFS 3.1 and that’s a weird choice for a phone in this price range. It’s something you’d usually see in phones that cost way less, and yeah it shows. App loading times and file transfers feel a bit slower than they should.

Nothing Phone (3a) Pro Performance

As for gaming, it’s decent. I played PUBG at 90 fps and it held up well. The gameplay was smooth, but the phone did get warm after a while. Not hot enough to burn your hand, but warm enough to notice. So, casual gaming? Totally fine. But if you’re really into gaming and want something snappier, I’d say take a look at the OnePlus 13R (review). For the same money, you’re getting more firepower.

Software

  • Android 15 with Nothing OS 3.1 on top
  • 3 years of OS and 6 years of security updates

When it comes to software, I have to give credit where it’s due. Nothing really nails it here! For me, after Samsung’s One UI, Nothing OS is easily my second favorite. It’s super clean, has no unnecessary bloatware, and just feels satisfying to use. Everything looks neat, and those minimal widgets actually make using the phone kind of fun.

Plus, Nothing is promising 3 years of OS updates and 6 years of security updates, which I think is a good commitment.

Nothing Phone (3a) Pro UI

But yeah, I do have one big complaint. There are zero AI features here. In 2025, that feels like a missed opportunity, especially when even mid-range phones from Samsung and other Chinese brands are throwing in all sorts of AI tools from smart photo editing to voice-based automation. I get that Nothing wants to keep things simple, but a little smart magic would’ve been nice.

Yes… I know the Phone (3a) Pro has that “Essential Space” thing like the regular Phone (3a). It lets me organize my screenshots and take voice memos so that Nothing’s AI can swoop in to generate some sort of useful action points. But right now, it simply doesn’t feel that intelligent or useful to me.

Battery and charging

Now on to the battery. The Phone (3a) Pro’s 5,000 mAh battery has been holding up really well for me. It easily gets me through a full day of use. And with the 50W wired charging, I was able to get from 0 to 50% in just 19 minutes, and a full charge took about 56 minutes.

Not the fastest on the market, but still quick enough that I didn’t feel stuck waiting. And no, you don’t need get a power brick inside the box, by the way.

Finally, I wanna talk about my favorite part of this phone.

It’s only been about a month since the Nothing Phone (3a) Pro launched, and it has already received two updates focused just on the camera. And let me tell you, under NPR 60,00, I don’t think there’s a better camera phone in Nepal right now.

Daytime photos

In good lighting, the camera is super consistent. It honestly reminded me a bit of the Pixel phones with its natural tones and clean processing.

You won’t get those overly vibrant or punchy colors like on a Samsung or Vivo phones, and the dynamic range, contrast, and highlight control are really well balanced. I used to consider the Realme 14 Pro+ (review) as the best in this price segment, but after using this one yeah, I’ve changed my mind.

Portraits

This phone nails portraits as well. The skin tones look natural, and the background blur feels just right, not too much, not too soft.

What I really love is how these photos are basically ready for Instagram straight out of the camera. The 3x zoom camera also surprised me, it’s sharp, and you can even shoot 4K videos with it. It gives a really clean perspective especially for close-up shots.

Ultrawide photos

But here’s where I have a small complaint.

The ultrawide camera on the Nothing Phone (3a) Pro is only an 8MP one. It’s decent, wide enough for most shots but the detail just isn’t there. A 13MP or even a 50MP sensor would’ve made a huge difference. So yeah, it’s definitely not on the same level as the main or the 3x zoom camera.

Videos

Moving on, the videography side of things on the (3a) Pro was a bit of a mixed bag for me. I usually shoot at 4K 30 fps and while the main and 3x cameras handle that really well and even let you switch between them, that ultrawide camera is limited to Full HD videos only.

That kind of limitation is a bit annoying, especially when you’re trying to get creative with your shots.

Selfies

What about selfies? Well, they’re pretty solid.

The skin tones come out nice, and the overall quality is good. I was honestly happy with the results. Definitely one of the better selfie cameras I’ve used in this price range.

So to wrap up this review, I think the Nothing Phone (3a) Pro is a stylish, well-balanced phone with a clean software experience, solid camera performance, and a unique design that stands out.

I’m definitely not saying that it’s picture perfect — because the choice of chipset and its ultrawide camera could have been better — but for the price, it delivers a lot. And if you want something different from the usual crowd and don’t mind skipping on some raw power, the Phone (3a) Pro is definitely worth a look.

Honor, since its debut, has been growing its presence in the midrange segment of Nepal. The Honor X8c is its latest addition to the segment, which boasts an eye-catching design with midrange specs on the table. Launched at NPR 33,999 for the sole 8/512GB version, is it the best one you can get in the segment? Let’s find that out in our Honor X8c Review.

Like last year’s Honor X8b, the Honor X8c also has a sleek, flashy design. The unit I have is in the Mars Green color, which looks very elegant. It features a vegan leather finish, and even though it has a flat frame, it still feels quite comfortable to hold. The front also gives off a modern vibe because the bezels are extremely minimal. The hole-punch cutout resembles the iPhone’s Dynamic Island.

So, despite being in the midrange price segment, it definitely delivers a premium feel. Speaking of ingress protection, it even has an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance, and a Swiss SGS 5-star Performance Certification for Drop & Crush Resistance. So, in terms of durability, it’s fair to say this phone is very decent.

Display

The phone has a large 6.7-inch AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. Last time, the X8c only had 90Hz. However, for some reason, even though I selected High Refresh Rate mode, most apps still run at 90Hz only. Honor phones generally use good-quality AMOLED panels, and this one is no different. Whether for normal use or multimedia sessions, the visuals are punchy and bright, perfect for a binge-watcher like me. Outdoor readability is also good, reaching 1200 nits in High Brightness Mode, and peaking up to 2800 nits.

Honor X8c Social Media

Performance

On the performance side, you get a 6nm Snapdragon 685 chipset, with 8GB RAM and 512GB of internal storage. However, for this price, calling the Snapdragon 685 the best chip wouldn’t be accurate, especially when you get better ones like the Dimensity 7300 on the CMF Phone 1 or the Dimensity 7025 Ultra on the Redmi Note 14 5G. Still, for normal tasks, the phone performs decently—though it may feel slightly slow at times, there’s no heavy lag or freezing. The best part is Honor’s MagicOS 9.0, which has an ad-free UI. You don’t see any unnecessary ads here, and there are enough customization options to make it enjoyable to use.

Honor X8c Gaming

When it comes to gaming, don’t expect too much. You can play PUBG at Smooth + Ultra settings. So, if your main goal is gaming, this phone isn’t built for that. But if you only play light games occasionally, it’s fine. Overall, performance is decent—if not the best—for the price.

Camera

You get a dual camera setup here: a 108MP main camera with OIS and a 5MP ultrawide unit. I’ve even compared this with what I consider one of the best cameras in this range—the Galaxy A16.

Honor X8c Camera

Daylight

In daylight conditions, both phones deliver good output. Honor has a warmer tone, while Samsung looks a bit more contrasty. The dynamic range is decent on both.

Portraits

For portraits, Samsung has the edge with better contrast and overall dynamic range. Honor struggles with exposure handling in bright backgrounds. But in normal lighting, the X8c’s portraits are still quite good.

Selfies

For selfies, Honor is the clear winner. Compared to the soft and washed-out skin tones of the Galaxy A16, Honor’s selfies are sharper and more pleasing. The front also includes a flash for better low-light selfies.

Lowlight

Speaking of lowlight, both phones have dedicated night modes. Personally, I prefer Honor’s night shots for their sharpness and detail.

Videos

In video recording, both phones support up to 1080p at 30fps. As expected at this price, the video quality is just average, nothing extraordinary.

Battery, Charging & Connectivity

Moving on to the battery, you get a 5000mAh unit. Based on my usage, it easily lasts a full day. You also get a 35W fast charger included in the box, which takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes for a full 0–100% charge. On the connectivity side, you get VoLTE support for both NTC and Ncell. It also supports NTC’s Band 20, so 4G+ (Carrier Aggregation) works well for NTC users, and it’s supported on Ncell too. However, VoWiFi is currently supported only on NTC.

So, overall, the Honor X8c brings some slight upgrades over last year’s X8b—but the price has also gone up by around NPR 4,000. For NPR 34,000, I feel the performance could have been better. For regular users, it’s decent enough, but it won’t satisfy those who play heavy games. Aside from that, there’s not much to complain about. The display is excellent, the camera is decent, and the UI is clean and ad-free. Just that—if they had kept last year’s pricing, it would’ve been a better value, especially given the tough competition from phones like the Redmi Note 14 5G and CMF Phone 1.

A while back, there were rumors about the iQOO Z10 series. Recently, the iQOO Z10 and Z10x were officially launched, and now the Z10 Turbo and Turbo Pro have also been revealed. In this article, we’ll go over the features and specifications of the iQOO Z10 Turbo and Turbo Pro, along with their expected prices in Nepal.

iQOO Z10 Turbo and Turbo Pro Overview

Design and Display

The iQOO Z10 Turbo and Turbo Pro are quite similar when it comes to looks and screen features. They both have a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen that shows content in Full HD+ resolution. The display refreshes at 144Hz, which means super-smooth scrolling, and it can go up to 2,000 nits of brightness, which is great for outdoor use.

On the flip side, the regular Turbo uses a MediaTek Dimensity 8400 chip, which isn’t as powerful but still solid for mid-high range use. It features a faster Cortex A725 core at 3.25GHz, three A725 cores at 3GHz, and four more at 2.1GHz. This makes it very capable for gaming and multitasking, although the Pro is clearly a step ahead in raw power.

Memory-wise, both models come in either 12GB or 16GB RAM options and offer 256GB or 512GB of storage. Moving on to battery, the Pro has a 7,000 mAh battery with 120W charging support, but surprisingly, the regular Turbo packs an even larger 7,620 mAh battery, though with slower 90W charging. That makes the regular Turbo a better pick for endurance. Both phones can also charge other devices using OTG reverse wired charging, which adds to their utility. Software-wise, they run on OriginOS 5, built on Android 15, which should bring a fresh and updated user experience.

Camera and Rest

Coming to cameras, the Turbo Pro has a solid 50MP main sensor (LYT-600) and an 8MP ultrawide shooter. The regular Z10 Turbo, however, only gets a 2MP depth sensor instead, which feels like a missed opportunity because an ultrawide lens would have added more value. For selfies, both phones feature a 16MP front camera, which should work fine for social media and video calls.
