iQOO launches the “x” variant of the Z9 for the budget-conscious consumers

iQOO launched the Z9 5G with Dimensity 7200 and IMX 882 sensor last month. Now the company is adding two more smartphones to offer an entire series. In this article, we will discuss the series’ lower member i.e. iQOO Z9x 5G in greater detail including its expected price in Nepal.

iQOO Z9x 5G Overview

Design and Display

The iQOO Z9x 5G looks quite similar to its standard variant. It has a squircle camera island with two camera cutouts. The cutouts here are also squircle in shape. While this phone might be the most affordable option among the series, it does not skip on the build quality. It comes with an aluminium frame along with customised shock-absorbing materials inside. Meanwhile, it comes with IP64 water and dust resistance and ships in Northern Green, Mystic Black, and Star White colours.

On the front, you get a 6.72-inch display donned with tempered glass for additional protection. The panel on the iQOO Z9x 5G is an LCD with FHD resolution. Other than that, it can reach a peak brightness of 1,000 nits and a refresh rate of 120Hz. You also get a DC dimming feature and TÜV Rheinland Low Blue Light certification.

Performance

Qualcomm officially unveils the Snapdragon X Plus processor for laptops

Qualcomm has finally announced their latest processor for laptops, the Snapdragon X Plus, which is a slightly step-down processor from the X Elite. In this article, we will discuss the Snapdragon X Plus in more detail.

Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus Overview

Processor

The Snapdragon X Plus is built on a 4nm process and features a 10-core Oryon CPU with clock speeds up to 3.4 GHz and a total cache of 42 MB. Additionally, it boasts an integrated 3.8 teraflop (TFLOP) Adreno GPU. The Snapdragon X Plus features a 45 TOPS Neural Processing Unit (NPU) for accelerating artificial intelligence and machine learning tasks.

Display

The Snapdragon X Plus comes with a display processing unit (DPU), named Qualcomm® Adreno™, which supports a maximum on-device display resolution of 4K Ultra HD at 120 Hz and a maximum external display resolution of 4K at 60 Hz. It also supports HDR10 and can drive up to three concurrent displays via a DisplayPort 1.4 interface.

Video Processing

The Qualcomm Snapdragon X Plus features Qualcomm® Adreno™ Video Processing Unit (VPU), which offers advanced video encoding and decoding capabilities. The encoder supports 4K at 60 Hz, 10-bit depth, and codecs such as H.264 (AVC), AV1, and H.265 (HEVC). Realme just unveiled the Narzo 70 and Narzo 70x smartphones in India with a focus on the budget segment. The Pro model was announced just a while ago which we covered here. In this article, let’s take a look at the most affordable offering: the Realme Narzo 70x 5G, its specifications, expected price in Nepal, and availability.

Realme Narzo 70x 5G Overview

Display and Build

The Narzo 70x is your typical budget smartphone made primarily out of plastic. It features a large 6.72-inch Full HD+ screen with up to 120Hz refresh rate and a touch sampling rate of 240Hz. The IPS display is an 8-bit panel with a maximum peak brightness of 950 nits.

Design-wise, it looks pretty much like the vanilla Narzo and comes with IP54 dust and splash resistance. Color options for both devices include ‘Forest Green’ and ‘Ice Blue’.

Performance and Memory

Under the hood, the Narzo 70x is powered by the Dimensity 6100+ processor. This 6nm chipset has been quite popular with newer budget devices like the Galaxy A15 and the Pova 6. That’s because it provides comparable performance to the popular Helio G99 but with added 5G connectivity. This silicon is spearheaded by its two A76 prime cores at 2.2 GHz, while the rest of the cores are efficient A55s running at 2000 MHz.

Memory-wise, you get 4GB of RAM in the base variant with 128GB of UFS storage. There’s also a 6GB variant but that too ships with the same amount of secondary storage. Luckily, the Narzo doesn’t skip out on the microSD slot, so you could add an extra terabyte of memory that way. The 70x 5G is running on the latest Android 14 with the company’s realmeUI 5.0 skin on top.

Cameras and Battery

The budget Narzo gets a 50MP main camera with an aperture of f/1.8 alongside a depth sensor. On the front, you are getting a 16MP shooter housed in the hole-punch.

Realme Narzo 70 5G goes official with Dimensity 7050 SoC

Realme is on the spree of launching new phones on and on! The brand recently unveiled Narzo 70 Pro and the new Realme P1 Series. Now it’s here with not just one but two phones: the Realme Narzo 70 Pro 5G and Narzo 70X Pro 5G. In this article, we’ll walk through the specs, features, and expected price of the Realme Naro 70 5G in Nepal.

Realme Narzo 70 5G Overview

Design and Display

Looks-wise and specs-wise, the Narzo 70 5G bears identicalities to its Realme P1 sibling. So, this guy boasts a boxy form factor with flat frames, a dual color tone rear panel, and a hole-punch display upfront. You get an IP54 rating for dust and water splash resistance. Likewise, the phone is available in two colorways: Ice Blue and Forest Green.

Talking of the screen, it is an AMOLED panel stretching at 6.67-inch with a 120Hz refresh rate. This FHD+ display has 600nits of HBM brightness for sunlight readability and 1200nits of peak brightness. One interesting thing here is the Rainwater Smart Touch feature that allows, you to unlock your phone, and answer your calls even with wet hands. Performance

Powering the core of this smartphone is none other than the Mediatek Dimensity 7050 5G SoC, from the Realme P1. It is an Octa-core processor with two Cortex-A78 cores at 2.6GHz and six Cortex-A55 cores at 2.0GHz. Handling the graphics core is Mali-G68 MC4 GPU here. Realme has paired this chip with 6GB and 8GB of RAM alongside a sole 128GB trim.

Also, to keep the thermals in check, you get a 4,356mm2 vapor chamber cooling system here. Meanwhile, booting the phone is Realme UI 5.0, built on top of Android 14.

Optics

Getting to the camera, the Realme Narzo 70 houses a dual camera setup on its circular module. It is headlined by a 50MP main sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and a useless 2MP depth sensing unit. The other two cutouts do not carry any camera lens, to be clear. While upfront, there is a 16MP selfie snapper.

Battery and Others

Fueling the Narzo 70 5G is a 5000mAh battery with 45W wired charging support. Realme claims a 50% juice up in 27 minutes. As for the connectivity, you get 5G, WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.2, GPS, a USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack.
