Best Mobile Phones Under Rs. 60,000 in Nepal [Updated]

In this article, we will go through all the best phones you can buy under NPR 60000 in Nepal. At this price point, you will not just settle for competitive specs but also for premium design and user experience. A decent camera setup is also a must. Likewise, people also tend to prioritize brand value as we go higher. Lucky for us, there are a lot of recognized brands with really good options in this price range which we will be exploring in this price range.

How to find the best phone under NPR 60000 in Nepal?

The phones under the NPR 60000 price range are just shy of the premium mid-range tag, so having good specs on paper is the bare minimum. You should not expect anything but an OLED screen with a higher refresh rate. Likewise, the phone should look and feel premium in hands. In addition, brands should also offer a level of assurance of the phone’s durability. This could come in the form of Corning Glass protection (front and back), official IP rating, as well as internal testing.

A phone in this range must show a certain level of performance. 5G is still years away from a proper implementation here in Nepal, but if you are planning to buy a phone under NPR 60000, you might as well get a future-proof phone. You should also care about the number of years your phone will be getting software support after launch. In addition, it must also showcase above-average still shoots and stable videography.

Note: In this list, we have also included a few smartphones that cost more than NPR 60000 — but not by a lot. We’ve done this so that you can further curate your choices and also because we don’t want you to miss any good deal by spending NPR 1000 – 2000 more. The prices of such products are marked with an asterisk (*) at the end.

3. Samsung Galaxy A36

Galaxy A36 design

The recently unveiled Samsung Galaxy A36 is here on our list of best phones under NPR 60000 in Nepal. It brings a similar design to the Galaxy A56, while being available at a cheaper price.

While build-wise, the Galaxy A36 has plastic frames and Gorilla Glass 5 protection for the display. Then there’s that curved frame for an enhanced feel.

Snapdragon 6 Gen 3

We found that the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 feels decent on the Galaxy A36. And we didn’t notice any jitters or slowdowns when going about our regular work on this thing. At this point, Samsung’s One UI is also ridiculously well-optimized, while the Galaxy A36 is also guaranteed to receive up to Android 21 update, so that’s even more reassuring. While gaming is pretty decent too.

Anyway, Galaxy A36’s display and battery life are quite impressive, though. And we are equally happy with its camera performance. Its ultrawide camera could’ve been a bit better, and a 2x option for portraits is sorely missing, but other than that, the Galaxy A36 is a great camera phone for the price.

Samsung Galaxy A36 Specifications:

  • Display: 6.7-inch AMOLED screen, FHD+, 120Hz refresh rate, Gorilla Glass Victus+
  • Chipset: Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 5G (4nm mobile platform)
  • Memory: 8/12GB RAM, 128/256GB storage (expandable)
  • Software & UI: One UI 7 on top of Android 15
  • Rear Camera: Triple (50MP main, 8MP ultrawide, 5MP macro)
  • Front Camera: 12MP sensor (hole-punch)

2. Honor 200

Honor 200 Pro

And taking the silver crown of best phones under NPR 60000 in Nepal is the Honor 200. And this is most suitable for those who value a good camera performance above everything else. The design is also premium-looking here. Although we would’ve liked it more if Honor had managed to provide some sort of IP rating and Gorilla Glass protection, the Honor 200’s design is still pretty impressive.

So is its display. You’re looking at a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate and curves on both sides. But the biggest highlight of this display is definitely its incredible 3,840Hz PWM dimming. That means if you’re someone who gets headaches, nausea, and the like when using a phone at low brightness levels, that’s not gonna be a problem here. Plus, you get all sorts of attributes such as a 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, Low Blue Light certifications, HDR 10+ support, and so on!

Best cameras in the game

The key highlight of the Honor 200 is none other than its cameras. It’s got a 50MP Sony IMX906 primary sensor, which takes good images, almost similar to its expensive Honor 200 Pro sibling. And the 2.5X telephoto lens, combined with the Harcourt Studio Paris filter, provides you with some stellar portraits. Meanwhile, the 12MP ultrawide is also decent enough for those wider FoV images. It also doubles as a macro camera.

As for performance, Honor has gone with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 chip and complemented it with plenty of RAM and storage. So you’ll have absolutely no problem with day-to-day work. The memory side of things leaves no room for complaint, this is definitely the most powerful processor for the price.

Honor 200 Specifications:

  • Display: 6.7” AMOLED Panel, 120Hz refresh rate, 4,000 nits peak brightness, 435 PPI pixel density, 1.07 billion color depth, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, 3,840Hz PWM dimming
  • Resolution: FHD+ (1,200 x 2,664)
  • Chipset: Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 (4nm)
  • RAM: 12GB
  • ROM: 256GB or 512GB

1. Nothing Phone (3a) Pro

nothing phone 3a pro

Securing the first position in this list of best phones under NPR 60000 in Nepal is the Nothing Phone (3a). It has the most unique design of all the smartphones on this list. This is because of the Glyph interface at the back.

Basically, it’s the collection of LED lights that light up in the case of new notifications, incoming calls, and others. Helping the Glyph shine is the transparent back, which is another of Nothing’s selling points. But the rear panel this time is plastic, though. It is held together by plastic frames, while the Phone (3a) Pro is also IP64 dust/splash resistant.

Snapdragon 7s Gen 3

The Nothing Phone (3a) Pro is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, offering reliable mid-range performance with a focus on efficiency and AI enhancements. It is paired with LPDDR5 RAM and UFS 3.1 storage, delivering fast multitasking and smooth app performance. The device runs on Nothing OS, providing a clean, near-stock Android experience without unnecessary bloatware. Nothing is promising 3 years of major Android updates and 4 years of security patches, keeping the Phone (3a) Pro updated up to Android 18 — a solid commitment for a young brand. Compared to chips like the Dimensity 7200 Pro, the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 holds its own with better AI performance and optimized battery efficiency, although the GPU output is slightly lower in some cases.

For cameras, the Phone (3a) Pro sticks to a straightforward but capable setup: a triple camera system on its back. You get a 50MP main, 50MP periscope lens with 3X optical zoom, and an 8MP ultrawide camera. On the front, a 50MP selfie camera captures clear and vibrant self-portraits. The phone is backed by a 5000mAh battery with 50W fast charging support, ensuring long-lasting performance and quick top-ups when needed.

Nothing Phone (3a) Pro Specifications:

  • Display: 6.77-inches AMOLED screen, FHD+, 120Hz refresh rate, 3000nits of peak brightness
  • Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 (4nm mobile platform)
  • Memory: 8/12GB RAM, 256GB storage (fixed)
  • Software & UI: NothingOS 3.1 on top of Android 15

  • Front Camera: 50MP sensor (hole-punch)
  • Security: Fingerprint sensor (optical in-display)

CMF Buds 2 Plus launched with 50dB Hybrid ANC and LDAC support

0

Alongside the Phone 2 Pro, CMF by Nothing introduced new earbuds to their audio catalog with the CMF Buds 2a, Buds 2, and Buds 2 Plus. The latter is the most expensive (and feature-rich) of the bunch, so in this article, I’ll be briefly talking about its features and specifications, alongside the expected price in Nepal and availability.

CMF Buds 2 Plus Overview

Design and Audio

From the outside, the new CMF Buds 2 Plus look pretty similar to last year’s Buds 2 Pro but are unfortunately not available in the iconic orange colorway (at least for now).

The Buds 2 Plus ship in either Blue or Light Grey options and are rated IP55 against dust and water splashes. The standout ‘rotating dial’ is here to stay, and you can even customize it to adjust volume, answer calls, or activate the voice assistant alongside playback control. Surprisingly, the vanilla buds get a “transparent” dial, but the plus variant misses out on that.

CMF Buds 2 Plus Audio Features

In terms of audio, the Buds 2 Plus have 12mm LCP drivers with Hi-Res audio and LDAC support. The entry-level Buds 2a misses out, but both the Buds 2 and Buds 2 Plus have Ultra Bass Technology 2.0 and Noise Reduction 3.0. That being said, all three earbuds support Spatial Audio and have Active Noise Cancellation (ANC).

Noise Cancellation Features

Talking about ANC, the Buds 2 Plus have 50dB Hybrid ANC with Smart Adaptive Mode, while the regular model has 48dB Hybrid ANC, and the Buds 2a have 42dB ANC. The Plus variant also has six microphones in total versus just the 4 on the entry-level Buds 2a.

There’s Clear Voice 3.0 technology for noise-free call audio, and Buds 2 Plus also support customized ‘Personal Sound’ through an ‘audiometry test’. But to use that feature, you’re gonna have to download the companion Nothing X app from your app store.

Battery Life and Extras

In terms of battery life, the Buds 2 Plus last the longest in the lineup with a playback of up to 14 hours (ANC off) on a single charge. With the case, you can extend that up to 61.5 hours. But one thing to note is that both the regular Buds 2 and Buds 2 Plus have the same battery sizes: 53 mAh for the buds, 460 mAh for the case. Moreover, you can get up to 8.5 hours of playback with a quick 10-minute charge.

Using the Buds 2 Plus with a Nothing/CMF phone will enable latency as low as 110ms, which is suitable for latency-sensitive activities like gaming. Moreover, the Buds 2 Plus also offer dual-device connectivity for added convenience.

CMF Buds 2 Plus Specifications

  • Drivers: 12mm custom LCP drivers
  • Sound: High Res Audio, LDAC support, Ultra Bass Technology 2.0
  • Noise cancellation: Smart Hybrid ANC up to 50dB
  • Microphones: 6 (3 per bud), Clear Voice Tech 3.0
  • Audio support: Spatial Audio
  • Connectivity: Bluetooth 5.4
  • Pairing: Dual device, Google Fast Pair, Microsoft Swift Pair
  • Battery life: 14 hours (buds), up to 61.5 hours (with case)
  • Water resistance: Buds – IP55, Case – IPX2
  • Companion App: Nothing X
  • Colors: Light Grey, Blue

CMF Buds 2 Plus Price in Nepal and Availability

The Buds 2 Plus cost INR 3299 and are available for purchase through Flipkart. When they make it here, we expect the CMF Buds 2 Plus price in Nepal to be around NPR 5,999.

Nikon unveils the new entry-level Z5 mirrorless camera

0

Nikon has now expanded its Z-series of full-frame mirrorless cameras with the Z5. Check out the specs, features, expected price, and availability of Nikon Z5 in Nepal.

Nikon Z5 Overview

Design

Nikon Z5 is the latest budget offering from the company and it fits right below the Z6 and Z7. Talking about the design, the Z5 looks strikingly similar to Z6. However, it lacks a secondary display. Also, the body of the Z5 is primarily made up of polycarbonate material.

Nikon Z5 back design EVF LCD tilting screen

Though it doesn’t come with a full magnesium alloy body, the body is still weather-sealed against moisture and other environmental factors.

Features

It features a 24.3MP full-frame CMOS sensor. It lacks the backside illumination technology that is on the Z6. The processor used here is Expeed 6. It comes with a hybrid autofocus system with a total of 273 focus points. Z5’s Eye-Detection AF works with both humans and animals. The shooting speed has been significantly reduced as the Z5 maxes at 4.5 frames per second. To compare, the Z6 can shoot at 12fps per second.

You can shoot 4K videos at 30fps with the new Nikon Z5 but you will have to deal with the 1.7x crop factor. If you wish to make use of the full sensor, you can shoot 1080p video which maxes at 60fps. It also lacks other features like 120 fps slow-mo, ProRes, and N-Log. The camera has 5-axis VR Image Stabilization for Z-mount lenses. It will still support 3-axis stabilization if you use compatible F-Mount lenses without the built-in VR.Nikon Z5 continuous power supply Unlike its older siblings, the Nikon Z5 comes with dual UHS-II SD card slots. Nikon says users can use both simultaneously for overflow storage, automatic backup, or to separate file types. The OLD EVF features 3.69 million dots. The Z5 also features a 3.2-inch LCD tilting touchscreen (1040K dots). Unfortunately, the display is not an articulating one.

Because of the support for USB-C Power Delivery, users can now charge their Nikon Z5 while still being able to use it. Users can also connect the camera to the computer using the port and use it as a webcam. Nikon will be bringing this new feature to other cameras as well with the release of the Webcam Utility software. The software will be launched next month and will be compatible with Windows 10.

Apple plans to move U.S. iPhone production to India as China trade tensions rise

Well, we are all aware of the tariff war going on between China and the USA lately. This is sure to impact the business of both countries. Apple, in such a situation, is playing it safe by shifting all iPhone assembly for the U.S. market to India, changing its manufacturing strategy in a big way. The company now wants to rely less on Chinese factories and is speeding up production in India to stay ahead of possible import taxes and delays.

Apple turns to India for iPhone assembly

Apple began building iPhones in India back in 2017 with older models like the iPhone 6s and SE, partnering with Wistron. Now, things are moving much faster. Apple plans to make all 60 million iPhones sold each year in the U.S. in India by 2026. To meet this goal, production in India must more than double. That’s a big task, but Apple is pushing hard to make it happen.

iPhone 16 Pro Max design

Foxconn and Tata, two of Apple’s key partners in India, have already sent out nearly $2 billion worth of iPhones to the U.S. in just one month. Apple even rented cargo planes to fly over 600 tons or up to 1.5 million iPhones to the U.S. to keep stores stocked before tariffs hit. That’s HUGE!! This fast action shows how serious Apple is about moving away from China quickly.

How the China–U.S. trade fight affects Apple

Apple has built most of its iPhones in China for years, but now that’s becoming a risk. Trump’s new trade policies could place a 145% tariff on Chinese imports. Even though smartphones haven’t been hit with the highest fees yet, Apple still pays a 20% tax on goods made in China. Tim Cook tried to get exemptions, but there’s no guarantee, and rules can change fast.

That’s why Apple is speeding up its shift to India. By early 2024, 14% of iPhones were already made there. Experts think this will hit 25% by year-end. India also faces a 26% U.S. import tax, but the U.S. paused it for 90 days so India can work out a better deal. U.S. Vice President JD Vance visited India recently and said both sides were making “very good progress.”

Availability

Apple is working fast to get Indian-assembled iPhones into U.S. stores. They’re already shipping large volumes and increasing weekend shifts at Indian factories to meet the growing demand. The company wants to rely more on India not just for this year, but long-term. While China still handles most iPhone, iPad, and Mac production, this change shows Apple is serious about rethinking where it builds its most important products. If tariffs keep growing, this new plan could protect both prices and supply for American customers. So, what do you think? Will iPhones get cheaper in Nepal?
