I have used the Amazfit Bip 5 for a week or two and I was quite impressed by its performance. Now, Amazfit has introduced its successor, the Bip 6, which comes with notable upgrades, including an AMOLED display. In this article, we will explore the key specifications and the expected price of the Amazfit Bip 6 in Nepal.

Display and Battery

The design of the Bip 6 remains unchanged from the previous version, retaining the classic rectangular form with a single-color silicone strap. However, the frame has been upgraded to an aluminum alloy, providing a more premium look and feel. The display size has slightly increased from 1.9 inches to 1.97 inches. The screen is now an AMOLED panel replacing the previous TFT-LCD display. Furthermore, it comes with a resolution of 380 x 450 pixels, with a peak brightness of up to 2,000 nits.

The Bip 6 is available in four color options: Black, Charcoal, Stone, and Red. On the power front, the Bip 6 comes with an upgraded 340 mAh battery (up from 300 mAh in the previous version). This allows for up to two weeks of battery life with regular use.

Features

The Amazfit Bip 6 brings several new features for better health monitoring. It now includes the BioTracker Dual-Light 5PD heart rate sensor for more precise tracking of heart rate, SpO2 levels, stress, and heart rate variability (HRV). Sleep monitoring is also available to keep tabs on your rest quality. Moreover, the watch supports over 140 workout modes, including unique activities like HYROX Race and smart strength training. It also offers personalized AI coaching, GPS, and offline navigation support. You can even use the Zepp Flow voice assistant to respond to messages.

Other notable features include smart notifications, Bluetooth calling, calendar reminders, and remote music controls. The Bip 6 also allows users to control their camera for group selfies, though this feature is currently only available for iPhone users.

    Typical full-frame cameras are rather bulky and heavy. Because of this, portability has been a major area of complaint about such a category of cameras. Last year, Sony introduced the Alpha 7C (a7C) as a solution to this problem. The company even called it “the world’s smallest and lightest full-frame camera” – with In-Body Image Stabilization (IBIS) at its launch. The camera has finally come to the Nepali market. So let’s discover more about the Sony a7C including its features, price in Nepal, and availability.

    Sony a7C Overview

    Design

    Here, the Sony a7C looks similar to the a7 III (not to be confused with a7S III) or the company’s APS-C cameras like the Alpha 6600. Measuring just 4.88 x 2.80 x 2.35 inches and weighing 509 grams (with battery and memory card), the a7C is about 19% smaller and 22% lighter than the a7 III. The body of the camera is made of magnesium alloy. Complementing the compact body, Sony also unveiled the new FE 28-60mm f/4-5.6 kit lens that it calls “the world’s smallest and lightest full-frame zoom lens”.

    It has a 0.39-inch XGA OLED electronic viewfinder with 2.35m dots, 100% field coverage, and 0.59x magnification. Similarly, there’s the 2.95-inch adjustable-angle (with an approximate rotation angle of 270-degree) TFT monitor. It supports touch shutter, touch focus, and touch tracking. In terms of wireless connectivity, it supports dual-band WiFi (2.4, 5 GHz) and Bluetooth 4.1. Moving on, you can find one UHS-II SD card slot, one USB-C Type 3.2 (for power and data transfer), a micro HDMI, and a separate microphone and headphone jack. Its high-capacity NP-FZ100 battery lets you capture 740 images or up to 215 minutes of continuous video recording.

    Sensor

    Sony a7C features the same 24.2MP 35mm full-frame Exmor R CMOS sensor with a BIONZ X imaging processing engine like the a7 III. It has a 15-stop wide dynamic range and a 5-axis image stabilization. This camera can continuously shoot at up to 10fps with AF/AE tracking and up to 8fps in live view mode.

    As expected, the a7C has an incredible low-light shooting capability with a standard ISO range of 100 – 51,200. Sony also employs noise reduction technology to enhance details in nighttime shots. It supports 16-bit processing and 14-bit RAW output too. Moreover, it can shoot up to 223 JPEG (Fine L), 115 compressed RAW, or 45 uncompressed RAW images in a single continuous burst.

    AutoFocus

    In terms of autofocus, the a7C has AI-based real-time tracking for fast-paced subjects. Matter of fact, it has the same AF technology as the Sony a9. The a7C has 693 phase-detection and 425 contrast-detection AF points covering about 93% of the image area.

    If you recall, the recently launched Panasonic Lumix S5 mirrorless camera (which is one of its closest competitors), only has a DFD system. Additionally, for better focus, it uses real-time eye AF that works on both human and animal subjects. There’s also a dedicated AF-ON button to easily activate real-time AF.

    Videos

    Moving on to the videos, the Sony a7C maxes out at 4K/30fps (or 24fps) or 1080p at up to 120fps with full pixel readout. Thankfully, these don’t have any time restrictions. However, Sony should’ve at least gone with a 4K/60fps recording. Anyway, both these formats are limited to 4:2:0 8-bit and 100Mbps bit rates. It supports HDR (HLG) and S-Log 3/2, S-Gamut profiles for adjusting the dynamic range.

    Vivo has announced the latest Y-series with the launch of Y300 Pro+ and Y300t. The Y300 Pro+ is making headlines with its massive 7,300 mAh cell. However, in this article we will be discussing the latter, which comes with a 6,500 mAh battery and Dimensity 7300 chipset. Let’s get into the depth of it.

    The vacuum uses a HexaJet Motor with a hexagonal stator, a second-stage diffuser, and a thinner impeller to generate 400W of suction. With this setup, it maximizes suction power while keeping the battery consumption low.

    Framework laptops are known for their customizability, upgradability, and sustainability, aligning with the right to repair movement. Unlike traditional laptops, Framework devices feature easily replaceable components, including storage, RAM, battery, ports, and even the motherboard. This design allows users to upgrade their hardware over time rather than replacing the entire device, reducing electronic waste and promoting longevity.

    What is Framework Desktop?

    Recently, Framework introduced its first desktop PC.

    The Framework Desktop is a compact 4.5L PC with prices ranging between USD 1,099 and USD 1,999. It features high-quality CPU fans made in collaboration with Cooler Master and Noctua. The desktop also includes a customizable front panel with a 3D-printed sticker, allowing users to personalize its appearance.

    And here’s where things get interesting. While Framework aligns with right to repair and customization values, the Framework Desktop is not as modular as we expected.

    Unlike their laptops, which allow users to easily replace most of the parts, even the motherboard, the desktop PC doesn’t offer the same level of customization. Some core components, such as CPU and RAM, are not swappable, which goes against their very own values they built their brand on.

    But why??

    The answer to this question is quite surprising. Framework partnered with AMD to bring their latest Ryzen AI Max “Strix Halo” mobile processors, which include Ryzen AI Max 385 and Ryzen AI Max+ 395. The Ryzen AI Max series sits at the top of AMD’s lineup of mobile chips for graphical tasks, offering exceptional performance and a massive improvement over the previous generation.

    The AMD Ryzen AI Max 385 has a 8 core / 16 threads “Zen 5” CPU and 32 core “Radeon 8050S” GPU, while the top of the line AI Max+ 395 comes with 16 cores / 32 threads and a whopping 40 “Radeon 8060S” GPU cores with all the latest features from AMD.

    By placing this laptop class processor into a desktop form factor, Framework can push its performance to the limit. Unlike in a laptop, where power and cooling constraints can often throttle performance, the Framework Desktop allows this chip to sustain up to 120W continuous power and 140W peak power at boot on both configurations. All while maintaining a quiet and efficient cooling system.

    Who is this for?

    The Framework Desktop is designed for developers, researchers, and machine learning enthusiasts looking for a powerful, local AI processing machine.

    • For AI tasks

    Those Strix Halo processors have a pretty capable NPU (Neural Processing Unit) with up to 50 TOPS of performance. But what makes the Framework Desktop so good at AI processing is due to all those GPU cores. They are specifically well-suited to handle the massive parallel processing required for running complex tasks like training Large Language Models (LLMs) or performing AI inference locally. The more cores, the better the GPU can manage simultaneous calculations, ensuring smoother and faster processing.

    Framework Desktop also supports up to 128GB of memory, with 96GB assignable to GPU tasks on Windows (more on Linux), making it ideal for heavy AI workloads. The ability to dedicate a large amount of memory to the GPU allows the system to efficiently manage massive datasets and complex computations without lag.

    According to Framework, the 64GB and 128GB shared memory variants showed excellent results when tested with “Llama 3.3 70B”, a 70 billion parameter model, demonstrating the ability of those Radeon GPUs to deliver real-time performance for AI tasks.

    And for all the gamers out there, the Framework Desktop punches way above its weight. In Cyberpunk 2077 at 1080p Ultra settings with FSR (FidelityFX Super Resolution) and FG (Frame Generation) off, the Ryzen AI Max+ 395 scored 85 fps. Outpacing NVIDIA’s RTX 4070 mobile, which scored an average of 79 fps according to Notebookcheck.

    What’s even more impressive is that both AI Max 385 and AI Max+ 395 show only a small performance gap in most games tested by Framework.
