Samsung Galaxy A55 Rumours Roundup
Naming and Certification
First of all, the name of the device is likely going to be “Samsung Galaxy A55”. This doesn’t seem like much news, but companies tend to switch things up every now and then. But it is unlikely to happen with the A50 lineup and the newer A55 will likely follow in the footsteps of the Galaxy A54.
Even though this phone will be known as the Galaxy A55 in the market, it goes with the model number SM-A5560 for the paperwork. As it stands the new member of Galaxy A series has passed the 3C certification.
Samsung Galaxy A55 Rumoured Specs
Sources are expecting the Galaxy A55 to ship with a Samsung-AMD partnership chipset of S538845 a.k.a Exynos 1480. This chipset reportedly features eight cores, with four cores each dedicated to performance and efficiency respectively. Herein the performance cores will likely peak at 2.75 GHz, while the efficiency cores will cap out at 2.05 GHz.
Furthermore, Samsung’s new homegrown chipset will have an AMD-derived GPU. It is rumoured to come with the Xclipse 530 GPU, which will most likely be based on AMD’s RDNA2 architecture. This isn’t out of the realm of possibility given the recent development of the Exynos 2400 chipset.

Sources say that the Samsung Galaxy A55 will feature a 6.4-inch AMOLED display and a 50 MP primary camera, which is the same as its predecessor. However, it is unclear if the 1/1.56-inch sensor will see any changes. Nonetheless, sources are speculating that the image quality will indeed improve but mostly due to software tweaks and processing.
While the aforementioned speculations are going on, the leaked 3C certification report confirms that the new Galaxy mid-ranger will retain the 25W charging capability. In addition, the Samsung Galaxy A55 will also support 5G cellular connectivity.
