Samsung unveils new gaming monitors ahead of CES 2024

South Korean tech giant, Samsung, has introduced a fresh lineup of gaming monitors just ahead of the CES 2024 event. Let’s take a closer look at what these monitors bring to the gaming table.

Three New Models: Odyssey OLED G9, G8, and G6 for 2024

Samsung’s latest offerings include the 49-inch curved ultra-wide Odyssey OLED G9, the 32-inch flat Odyssey OLED G8, and the 27-inch flat Odyssey OLED G6. The G6 marks a departure as the first flat monitor in Samsung’s Odyssey series.

The Odyssey OLED G6 catches attention with its noteworthy 360Hz refresh rate, complemented by a 1440p resolution and a standard 16:9 aspect ratio. The G8 presents a 32-inch 4K display with a 240Hz refresh rate, while the G9, a 49-inch curved monitor, boasts a 240Hz refresh rate, a 32:9 aspect ratio, and a resolution of 5,120 x 1,440.

Features Integrated

All three monitors come with common features, such as a VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification and support for AMD FreeSync Premium Pro. Samsung has also incorporated smart features into the G8 and G9 models, including a Smart TV platform, a Gaming Hub with cloud gaming services, and a SmartThings hub for controlling IoT devices. The monitors also feature a “Multi Control” option for transferring text and images between compatible Samsung devices.

The monitors offer rich connectivity with two HDMI 2.1 ports, a DisplayPort 1.4, and built-in USB hubs. Notably, they include a DisplayPort 1.4 input, allowing users to connect laptops, phones, or tablets with a single USB-C cable for power, video, and data.
