Every year, Honor’s X9 lineup has made headlines for its over-the-top durability tests that always push things a notch higher. Last year’s X9c was especially tough — it even survived boiling water and getting run over by a dozer in our tests. Following that streak, Honor has now unveiled the X9d, the successor to the X9c, and this time, they’ve taken the endurance game even further. But it’s not just about toughness anymore. The real highlight is its massive 8300mAh battery — a capacity that would’ve sounded unreal just a few years ago. In this article, let’s take a closer look at everything about the new Honor X9d, including its specifications, availability, and price in Nepal.

Honor X9d Overview

Durability and Build

But before moving on, I should mention that the X9d isn’t exactly a new invention. It’s actually a rebranded version of the China-exclusive Honor X70. Since the X70 isn’t coming to Nepal but the X9d is, we’ll take this one as our point of reference. Honor’s really going all-in on the toughness angle this time. The phone carries an IP69K rating — the highest level of water resistance available — meaning it can withstand high-pressure water jets. The 2.5-meter drop resistance is an upgrade from last year’s 2-meter rating, and they’ve even included features like rainproof touch control and glove operation.

The cooling system uses a 5th-gen vapor chamber with 29,500 mm sq. of cooling surface. It can operate in temperatures from -30°C to 55°C, which covers pretty much any environment you’d realistically use a phone in.

Display and Design

Now, coming back to the body of the X9d itself, here you’re getting a 6.79-inch AMOLED screen with 120Hz refresh rate that adapts to what you’re doing. Peak brightness hits an excessive amount of 6000 nits with 3840Hz PWM dimming.

The phone weighs slightly heavier than the X9c at 193 grams, which could be because of that massive battery inside. Honor went with four colors: Reddish Brown, Midnight Black, Sunrise Gold, and Forest Green. The shock-absorbing frame uses what they call “ballistic-grade damping.”

Performance and Software

At its core is the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4, which is a decent jump from the 6 Gen 1 in last year’s X9c. This chip scores around 759,000 on AnTuTu 10, which puts it in solid mid-range territory. Realme claims over 810,000 on their 14 5G with the same chip, so i don’t think there would be that much difference in performance compared to the Realme 14 5G. You’re getting MagicOS 9.0 based on Android 15, which is about as current as it gets right now.

Camera System and Features

The camera setup looks like this: a 108MP main sensor with OIS and a 5MP ultrawide. This is exactly the same as last year’s, but Honor has thrown in some AI editing tools they call “Star Editor” that can remove reflections, erase objects, and upscale photos. Meanwhile, for selfies, the front camera is 16MP. If you are wondering if there are any design-specific camera features, then yes, they’ve also added an underwater photo mode.

Battery and Charging

Now let’s talk about the most interesting thing: its battery. The 8300mAh battery it comes with is massive even by 2025 standards. Most Chinese brands have moved to 7000mAh+ batteries this year, but Honor has pushed further. The silicon carbon technology should mean this battery lasts up to 6 years through 1000 charge cycles. You also get a 66W wired charging here as well. Similarly, the phone can also reverse charge other devices.
