Design
The latest Huawei FreeBuds Lipstick 2 more like other Huawei FreeBuds is a design-heavy product. Though it is the follow-up to the original and has “Lipstick” on its name, it barely resembles lipstick anymore. This time around the charging case is more reminiscent of a treasure chest instead. The earbuds themselves also look entirely different from its predecessor. It comes in a “water drop” shape similar to the Huawei FreeBuds 5. Matter of fact, these Lipstick buds might as well be repackaging of FreeBuds 5.
While that may or may not be true, the buds come semi-in-ear fit along with IP54 water and dust resistance. The charging case features a leather-like material with linear pattern carvings. Additionally, the hinge on the case is made of high-strength stainless steel and titanium alloy. However, unlike the buds, the case does not have any dust or water resistance. The Huawei FreeBuds Lipstick 2 ships in two finishes: String White with white case and silver buds, and Phantom Black with black case and red interior and buds.

Audio and the rest
The audio on the Huawei FreeBuds Lipstick 2 is driven by a dual magnetic rotor that is 11mm in diameter. With this, these earbuds are capable of producing a frequency range of 100Hz to 2KHz. Moreover, you also get Hybrid ANC along with Dynamic EQ tuning on these earbuds. It is equipped with touch controls on the side that you can use to navigate through your playlist and calls. These earbuds come with Bluetooth v5.2 for wireless connectivity with your phone. It supports a wide range of codes including two high-definition ones in the form of L2HC and LDAC with transmission rates of up to 990 kbps.
The Huawei FreeBuds Lipstick 2 offers a multi-device connection with devices running on HarmonyOS 3.0 and later. Meanwhile, for devices outside the Huawei ecosystem, you get a dual-device connection through Bluetooth. Inside these earbuds, there are different types of sensors alongside a 42mAh battery. Similarly, the case packs a 410mAh cell. With this, it can offer up to 5 hours of playback with ANC turned off. In the meantime, when you factor the charging case in, you get 24 hours of usage. When you are completely drained of the battery, it takes about 90 minutes to fully charge. Additionally, it can offer you 2 hours of playback with just 5 minutes of charge as well.
