The key forte of Eclipsa Audio is that it’s open standard. So, hardware makers don’t have to pay licensing fees, unlike Dolby Atmos which requires so. Samsung claims that Eclipsa Audio performs very similar to Atmos through location, intensity, and spatial reflection adjustments in order to produce 3D sound.

Samsung is developing a massive 500MP camera for its next gen flagships!

Samsung is always pushing the boundaries when it comes to camera specs, and it seems they’re ready to take things even further. The Galaxy S24 Ultra is already a powerhouse, but the upcoming Galaxy S25 Ultra promises to raise the bar even higher. Not just that the company is also developing sensors for the iPhone with rumors of a massive 500MP one. Let’s unpack all this in this short and sweet piece.

Samsung’s new camera sensors

500MP sensor for the S26 Ultra?

When it comes to high-resolution smartphone camera sensors, Samsung is THAT famous guy in the group who everyone wants to be friends with. Continuing this legacy, the South Korean tech giant is developing a 500 MP camera sensor. Yes, you read that right, a jaw-dropping 500 megapixels! So what does that mean? That simply means more pixels….a LOT MORE PIXELS. You’d get super sharp images, and with a sensor like that, even cropped-in shots would look detailed and to the point. It’s unlikely that we’ll see it anytime soon though, but maybe the S26 Ultra in 2026? Who knows!

New image sensor for iPhone too

But that’s not all. Samsung has got something for its biggest competitor too. Rumors have it that the South Korean giant is experimenting with a three-layer stacked image sensor in a PD-TR-Logic configuration for Apple. This sensor will improve photo quality, especially in low-light conditions, while offering faster image capture and better dynamic range. That means that the next iPhone (hopefully the iPhone 18 Pro Max or Ultra) will be a strong contender against the then Android flagship S26 Ultra.

In simpler terms, all it means is that this new sensor in your iPhone will make your photos look crisper, clearer, and more vibrant, even when the lighting isn’t perfect. This new sensor could even outshine the current leader in the space, Sony’s Exmor RS used in full-fledged cameras by the way. What an interesting development!

We recently got our hands on Xiaomi 15 and it was a decent upgrade over its predecessor in terms of overall specs and feel. However, we feel like it could have done with a better set of cameras which is exactly what seems to be in store for the next iteration. The thing is, although Xiaomi 15 has yet to make its official debut in several countries including Nepal, the rumor mill is already buzzing with several details about the next model, the Xiaomi 16. In this article, we’ll break down everything we know so far based on leaked information and speculation.

Camera upgrade at last?

Recently we got the news that the Xiaomi 16 is expected to get a camera upgrade. Unlike the Xiaomi 15, which stuck to a 2.6x telephoto lens and didn’t see any significant advancements in the camera division, the vanilla Xiaomi 16 is rumored to come with a periscope telephoto lens. This would be a much-needed upgrade for Xiaomi, especially since the Xiaomi 15 Pro already includes a periscope lens.

That said, it’s worth noting that other smartphones, such as Vivo X200 and Oppo Find X8, have periscope telephoto lenses in their devices already, which means Xiaomi still has some catching up to do in this area.

Though it’s still early to confirm all the specs of the Xiaomi 16, we can guess about the other specs based on the smartphone manufacturing pattern and our speculation. One of the standout features of this brand-new Smart Monitor M9 is its ‘AI Picture Optimizer’ which will supposedly analyze the screen content and adjust picture quality automatically for an optimal viewing experience. So, you can use the same monitor for everything from writing documents to streaming movies, and playing games without feeling like you are losing out!

There’s also another interesting play for gamers with the ‘4k AI Upscaling Pro’ which upscales low-resolution renders to give you extra FPS without losing visual fidelity. If that doesn’t feel versatile enough, Samsung has put in a 4k camera for professional conferences too. All in all, the Smart Monitor M9 levels up what an ‘all around’ monitor is capable of with its slew of features targeting all kinds of customers. The Monitor M9 runs on Tizen OS Home just like its predecessor.

Samsung Viewfinity S8

Moving onto the Viewfinity S8 which is catered more towards professionals, we have got pretty sweet upgrades here as well. The Viewfinity S8 is the first to bring a large 37-inch 4k canvas to the lineup. That might not sound like a big jump from the 32” model previously available but it maths out to more than a third of extra estate (+33.6%). Apart from that, you get TUV Rheinland certification for an ‘Ergonomic Workspace Display’ with a freely adjustable stand for adjusting height, tilt, and pivot angle. It also has a Type-C port for connectivity on top of the regular old HDMI. The nitty gritty details haven’t been made public yet but knowing the brand’s track record, we expect great colors, HDR support, and a few extra ports as well.

Samsung Odyssey Gaming Monitors

Finally, let’s talk about some of the most interesting features that the brand is going to showcase at CES 2025 with a 500Hz OLED gaming monitor and a 3D screen.

Odyssey G8 and G6

Samsung Odyssey is the brand’s high-end offering for gamers and enthusiasts alike and the G8 takes that a step further by offering the perfect blend of high pixels (3840×2160) and super fast refresh rate (240Hz) in an ideally sized 27” OLED gaming monitor. The G6 on the other hand has a lower res QHD panel but offers a staggering 500Hz refresh rate. That mind-bogglingly fast speed is paired with NVIDIA’s GSync and AMD’s Free Sync Premium Pro technologies to prevent screen tearing during your gaming sessions. Besides that, there’s also stuff like VESA’s HDR TrueBlack 400 and an anti-glare coating for an immersive viewing experience.

Odyssey 3D

Last but not least, Samsung also announced the Odyssey 3D which offers a 3D-like experience without the need for any special glasses and whatnot. It’s a 27-inch monitor that uses AI to convert 2D content to 3D in both games and movies. We don’t know exactly how it works or the inner workings yet but that is sure to surface during CES.
