Alongside the iPhone 17 series, AirPods Pro 3, Watch Ultra 3, and the Watch SE 3, Apple also unveiled the Watch Series 11 on its “Awe Dropping” event last night. And it might have been the most disappointing launch of the night since it barely has any upgrades over last year’s Apple Watch Series 10. So let’s discuss everything the new Apple Watch Series 11 brings, alongside its expected price in Nepal.
Apple Watch Series 11 Overview
Build quality and display
The Apple Watch Series 11 is described as Apple’s thinnest Apple Watch. But don’t get the wrong idea that it’s thinner than the Watch Series 10, since they both are 9.7mm thick. Matter of fact, the Watch Series 11 is actually slightly heavier than its predecessor in both 42mm and 46mm case sizes.
It’s also available with either an aluminum or a titanium case, like before.
The only thing that’s kinda new in terms of the design is that the Watch Series 11’s aluminum variant comes in a new “Space Gray” color option. On top of the usual “Jet Black”, “Rose Gold”, and “Silver” finishes. While its titanium model has “Slate”, “Gold”, and “Natural” colorways to choose from as always.
You’re also looking at the exact same LTPO3 wide-angle OLED display here. It peaks at 2,000 nits of brightness and has a minimum brightness of 1 nit as well, although there is one upgrade that Apple highlights for the Watch Series 11.
So you know how Apple’s aluminum watches have been paired with Ion-X glasses compared to a more durable sapphire crystal for the one with a titanium case? Well, the Watch Series 11’s aluminum model now has 2x more scratch-resistant Ion-X glass. Apple says this was made possible with a new “ceramic coating that bonds to the glass at an atomic level”.
On that note, its WR 50M rating means you can also wear this smartwatch for activities like swimming in a pool or ocean at up to 6 meters deep. Not only that, but the Watch Series 11 is also IP6X dust resistant.
Battery and performance
The Apple Watch Series 11 delivers a notable upgrade in battery life, offering up to 24 hours of normal use on a full charge. Compared to Apple’s claim of 18 hours for the Watch Series 10. It’s also rated to last slightly longer under Low Power Mode (38 hours > 36 hours), while Apple says a quick 15-minute topup is enough for it to last up to 8 hours as well.
Unfortunately, we did not get a new chip for the watch. It is 5G-capable now, but the Watch Series 11 is still powered by the S10 chip as before. Complemented with 64GB of internal storage.

The rest of the features
So that means most of the new experiences on Series 11 are fueled by Apple’s new watchOS 26 software. Which should be available on older Apple Watches via an update shortly.
And the biggest highlight here is that the Watch Series 11 can send you alerts in case it detects any signs of hypertension—aka high blood pressure—by analyzing blood vessel responses over 30-day periods. Apple says it’s still awaiting approval from the US FDA (Food and Drug Administration) and other regulators, but it expects hypertension notifications to be available in over 150 countries within this month.
This feature will also be available on Watch Series 10 and Watch Series 9 (review), by the way. There isn’t even a symptom in most cases of hypertension, so this could be a game-changer if it actually works.
Other than this, watchOS 26 also finally brings “Sleep Score” to get a quick insight into your sleep habits. It’s something we’ve seen from practically every other smartwatch maker by now, but better late than never, right? Then there’s the new “Workout Buddy” feature that gives personalized motivation through your workout sessions by analyzing your performance.
watchOS 26 also comes with two new watch faces. There’s one called “Flow” that highlights the Liquid Glass aesthetics of watchOS 26 and “Exactograph” that mimics a regulator clock. Oh, and the Series 11 has this exclusive “wrist flick gesture” to dismiss notifications, too.
